These guys came out to repair my AC unit they replace the compressor then had to replace another part still not working they send technician out multiple times and they kept saying as an electrical problem had two electricians come out one saying it's not electrical issue. I then had another HVAC unit people come and take a look. They actually called in another guy to come help him and they spent more time than their technician did diagnosing my problem. Another part has gone bad and they said it's not the electric. Even telling ***** **** what was happening they denied saying it still an electrical problem these people are **** *** ******* do not use them for they have basically taken me for over $2,000 and I'm still 3 weeks going on to 4 weeks with no AC.

What a terrible Experience! We had this company come out and work on our pump on the HVAC unit that was not working properly. Once the tech left, my HVAC completely stopped working! I know things happen so I called to have the tech come back out. They then told me I needed a new thermostat (so I went out and purchased one). I then realized the thermostat wasn't receiving power from the unit itself. I left multiple messages to the service manager (non of which were returned). The ladies at the office are the sweetest and were very helpful at trying to relay my messages. But the techs said they would "put me on the schedule" and come out when they finished their other jobs. This was literally their fault and it should have been a priority to fix their mistake. I ended up calling another company based in Elizabethton who is FANTASTIC and the found the problem. An easy fix that was caused by the previous tech. I'm not even upset about the extra money I spent to have another company come out. I'm upset because my calls were not returned, they refused to prioritize fixing a mistake that they made, and they told me to get unnecessary equipment that wouldn't have even fixed the issue! Bad business.

How this company has a A+ rating I do not know. they charged me $735.02 to install a vent in kitchen drain & two basket strainers. II called with a small drip under the sink. They went in the basement and said all this other stuff has been done and quoted $1965.94. One year later, still no problems with things they recommended to be done.
Not sure, but if you google call another plumber in Johnson City, their phone number dials. If you have to trick people to calling your number, is a red flag.

I have to say, there have been ups and downs with this company, but ultimately they really do try to make it right. If you saw my previous review, all I can say is they came back out for free, ending up needing to replace the water heater, and did so free of charge.

I was quoted an astronomical amount for an extremely small job. The worst part was the "look at" fee, which was over a hundred by itself. Basically, the tech made over a hundred dollars for showing up and me telling him how to fix the problem. I've fixed this in the past myself in five minutes with a snake to the road from the cleanout. The lease the tech would offer was well over $500 dollars! Now I threw away over a hundred trusting these people were more honest than this. Never again! Called immediately to the main number and they dismissed me saying the talk to the tech., like he owned the company or something. Catch 22 runaround. No fix ... just take my money and run, because they make you put a card on file to steal the money with a high quote protection.

We have reached out to this customer and let him know that we are not charging him anything for the visit. When we booked the call we did advise him of the service call amount and we do have to have a card on file due to the customer was not going to be there with us at the time of the appointment. Our calls are recorded and we did verify via recording that we advised our customer of all of this on our initial phone call.

Always very knowledgeable. Also very pushy, using scare tactics to push you into more and more work. On some things they are amazing and the price is worth it, but they replaced a faucet and charged $700 to do it, to turn around another visit and tell me the pipe underneath that faucet isn't up to code and needs to be replaced. They flushed my water heater, $500, and absolutely nothing changed. Now I'm hesitant to call them back about it because I don't want to pay hundreds more dollars for them to not fix the issue.

If I could rate it lower I would. I had someone come out to price to fix a leak on my kitchen sink and hook up plumbing to a new vanity. They were going to charge us **** to replace a basket strainer on the sink because he said thats what was leaking. And then wanted over ****** to hook up the new vanity to the existing pipes. He also tried to tell me that the rest of my plumbing needed to be redone because it was done wrong. I did not fall for any of that. The kitchen leak was because a little rubber piece had come out of a connecting piece of pipe. It was less than ** at Lowe's. They are crooks and take advantage of people.

Overpriced and unprofessional. They charged an exorbitant sum of money for repairs and refused to provide an itemized receipt showing what they charged for parts and labor. I sent an email asking them for this receipt and they simply ignored the email. 8 days later, I called the office and a woman said they would not provide details. When I said I wasn't happy with this, she simply said "Thank you!" in an overly sweet sarcastic tone, and hung up. I am disgusted and will never use them again. I will also advise everyone I know in the Bristol area NOT to use them. Installed new 50 Gallon water heater with expansion tank + pressure regulator. Charged over ******

***CAUTION: Elderly Lady Charged ***** To Fix "Running" Toilet***
Unfortunately, this is a true story that occurred just before Thanksgiving. My 83-year-old widowed Mother-in-Law felt that her toilet was running excessively so she called Steve Huff Plumbing. She was rewarded for this call by being charged *****!!! Please see below for a breakdown, according to an invoice for which I called to obtain.
    1. Service Charge: *** *-she said to the best of her memory that the plumber was there for approximately 1-1.5 hours.
    2. Toilet "tank rebuild": ******* --the most expensive toilet at Lowe's is ****; therefore Steve Huff Plumbing charged her over **** more for plastic parts for the tank than the cost of a high-end toilet set.
    3. Replace "emergency stops on the hot side" (i.e. shutoff valve) of kitchen sink: ******* --the plumber offered a "free" kitchen sink inspection (although she did not call about this and had no complaints). His inspection found that the shutoff valves needed replaced. These are less than *** each at Lowe's, but Steve Huff Plumbing charged her right at **** for these parts (keep in mind the service charge was just ***!)
When we found out about this, we called to obtain an itemized invoice. I've emailed them twice to ask if a simple typing mistake could have occurred that would explain an ***** charge for her calling about a "running toilet". We have received no response.
We NEVER complain about service-oriented work. We know how hard people work and respect their skillsets. Times are tough for all of us and we are happy to pay fair prices for work. This was excessive and not right.
Again, we are not the type to complain, but we do not want this to happen to any other elderly folk who are looking for help. I'm all for local businesses doing well, but not at the expense of hurting others. The last thing I'd ever want to do is go to the Internet to say negative things about anyone, but I'm not sure what else to do...

Steve Huff Plumbing came (July 1, 2023) to our house to fix a leak around the base of a toilet. I thought this would be straightforward and relativity easy for a plumbing outfit. The driver was very courteous and knowledgeable, but seemed to be more interested in finding other areas to repair/sell. Was pushing pressure regulator installation. $1626.97. which we had gotten along fine without for over 50 years. The toilet pull and reset w/flange repair was quoted at $561.11 (ouch). If you call them this is some of the things, you can expect. I am in my 80's, slow but steady. I was able to repair the toilet the next morning myself in about two hours for a total of less than $4's. I used an anchor bolt that I found in my toolbox, to replace the one that was broken. I was out the $89 for the service call that Steve Huff charges. I expected a little more from them, price wise, and getting my toilet repaired. Therefor I can only award one star.
