    Stay away from this group. There is no oversight of their individual brokers, which means that there is no formal recourse when one of them gives bad advice. This can leave clients without insurance coverage—which is exactly what happened to my mom when one of their agents, Jason Pearcy, unnecessarily delayed her filing process and then forgot to send key paperwork to the federal office. When we followed up, Jason suggested that instead of Medicare, she join a “Christian healthcare cost-sharing” group (he suggested a group recently exposed and sued for its predatory practices toward vulnerable clients). We went to SFG because they had been highly recommended by University of Tennessee colleagues who had good experiences with them, and we expected that they would help us navigate the difficult process of getting on Medicare. Instead, Jason and SFG have made things much harder. We’ve spent weeks trying to fix their mistakes and, because the delays have left us without time to course-correct, will likely be paying $1.5k out of pocket for independent insurance coverage as we wait for the paperwork to go through.
