    Fri, *** 6th at 9AM ****** with JB Tree Service came to our prop to give a quote on a large tree that fell in our back yard. While there he looked at the tree and took a picture. Backyard is on downhill slope, only access to the area is via a narrow terraced sideyard. We discussed the limits and that there would be no way to remove the tree other than rolling it downhill to back of prop. I informed him that the uprooted root ball was to be removed in order to fill in the hole that remained. Discussed no way to get a grinder down to that area. He told us he could do the job for $850 and could do it the next day if we let him know by 3pm. I rcvd the quote and text that if we let them know by 1pm that they could do it that day. After looking over quote, I texted to verify that quote incl removing the root ball (stump). After a bit of confusion as to which site we were talking about, I sent a pic to remind, he verified yes, quote incl cutting up the tree trunk and stump and moving to the back of the property. Sat. crew showed up @ 8:15am, showed the site, explained they were to remove the trunk and roots. They were there less than an hour, made 5 cuts to the trunk and rolled to back of prop. Said they were thru, I asked about the stump (roots) and was told someone would come later that day to remove. Texted ****** to verify. At that point he says he wasn't aware of the slope and terraces that prevented grinding the stump, they can't remove the roots and the would take off $200. I informed him that was not the quote verified and agreed to and would not be paying until the job was completed as quoted. Told him I felt like this was a bait and switch. Do the easy stuff, leave the hard stuff and still try to charge 70% of original quote. Said he would see what he could do and be in contact with me. A week and a half and still no word, haven't finished job and getting billing notices for full amount.
