In August 2023 I hired Blackhawk to fix the leaks on my patio roof. ************************* assured me that the leaks had been repaired. Now my patio roof is leaking again. . .really bad. When I notified ****************** he sent someone to look at the situation. I realize that leaks can reappear and may need more work. However ****************** sent me a text saying that a metal patio roof could not be repaired because of the way the gutter was attached to the metal roof. I don't see why that wasn't seen back in August. After they did extensive work, I asked ****************** if that fixed the roof leaks. He said it did, but it did not. I will be 76 in January and live alone. This is too much money not to have had the problem fixed. He never should have taken the job if he wasn't sure he could not fix it. I believe a refund is in order since he should have known he could not stop the leaking. I'm stuck now having paid just under $3000 and the roof leaks more than before. This is elder abuse. Please help me.

In August, 2023, at the request of **************, we performed an inspection of her metal patio to determine the cause of the the leak into the patio in the area immediately above where the roof of the home joins the patio roof.

We determined the leaking was because of improper installation of the patio where the patio connects to the roof of the home.  To make the necessary repairs to stop the leaking, we removed 3 lines up on the roof of the 2 layers of shingles she has on the home along the entire roof line connected to the patio.  We then installed an ice & water membrane as an underlayment where the shingles were removed and a out over the metal roof and a 2 foot wide metal special metal flashing 8 inches up on the roof and 16 inches our on the top of the the patio roof to form a solid barrier along the width  of the patio. Finally, we installed approximately 185 new shingles to replace the removed shingles and applied silicone to form a seal from leaks.

Upon examination, after being called by **************, after a recent very heavy rainstorm when she reported the new leaks into the patio, we conducted an inspection.  Since we had stopped the original source of the leaking with no further problem reported until the latest heavy storm, we found that the water runoff had found a new venue of escape at the outer (apposite) end of the patio.

There is a 5 inch gutter at the end which, if not kept clear of leaves and other debris, allows water to both overflow the gutter, but also get in a gap left by the manufacturer between the gutter and under the patio roof, including under the materials we installed in August to the stop the original leaks.

At our expense, we have removed the defective gutter an constructed the ability to install a new 6 inch gutter (which handles about 40% more water than the 5 inch gutter).  A new 6 inch gutter will be install this week for ************** and the new source of the leaks should be remedied
