I used this tool to modify two sets of ***** Vortec heads to gain some clearance to use LS beehive Valve springs and a LT4 hot cam. The tool was suppose to machine the outer valve guide diameter to .530, instead all thirty 32 Guides are .520. That can only mean that the tool is junk. I called Com Cams support and asked if they had seals that would work. He stated that there tool would have left guides @ .530 no .520 seals!. The POW35345 tool I have leaves them at .520. Tool was opened from sealed container by me (as pictured). I had bought several sealed tools from a local Machine shop in the past (sealed)(unused). I do not have a receipt any more but that should not make the tool leave the valve stem @ .520 instead of. .530.

We will reach out to the customer to see what the issues are with the cutter he purchased. We will respond with a resolution after speaking with the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: No one from Comp Cams called me! The only conversation I had with them was threw there hot line, when I informed them that the cutter was junk, leaving the outer diameter of the guilds at .520 instead of .530 as the tool and Comp Cams state.

I ordered a product from them on 09/23/2021. I kept getting told that they had no stock, Then my order was somehow cancelled by them without my knowledge, so it was reordered. I am still being told the same from the ordering company that they have no stock. My direct emails to customer support have gone unanswered.

I ordered a Hydraulic Roller Cam ***** on September 8, 2023, for $1,587.87, which was initially back-ordered with an expected delivery date of December 5, 2023. That date passed without any update, and upon contacting Comp Cams, I was informed of further delays due to back-ordered push rods, with a new estimated delivery date of January 2, 2024. This pattern of delay continued with subsequent promised dates of February 5 and March 4 also passing without the delivery of parts, including springs and valve seals. Throughout this process, the customer service department has been unable to provide any solid explanations for the delays or a reliable delivery date. Despite inquiring about the source of these parts, I was only told the supplier is US-based. I've now been given a new tentative delivery date of April 2, according to their system, which I find completely unsatisfactory. The lack of clear communication and concrete answers from customer service has left me without a clear expectation of when the parts will finally arrive.

To whom it may concern, I have spoken with **** about the supply chain issues we are experiencing with the valve springs in his K12-443-8 kit. We have a plan in place to get him the correct parts that will match his cylinder heads after he has a few items checked that I have requested. Thank you.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 03/11/2024

After posting my online complaint, I received an immediate response ( within 8 hrs) from ******************* Edelbrock's Engine Builder Sales Manager
, who promptly contacted me to investigate the issue with my order. Together, we discovered that by taking additional measurements of my cylinder heads, we might be able to find compatible parts outside of the original kit to address my needs. Specifically, the springs and retainers were identified as the missing components from my order, and I was told that there were alternatives that could be shipped as soon as the cylinder head measurements were verified.
By Friday, May 9th, ***** and I had formulated a plan, with the new measurements confirmed , I was promised that the necessary parts were in stock and would be shipped no later than Monday, March 11th, 2024. However, upon following up with ***** this morning, I learned that the push rods for my order were out of stock, prompting a new search for both a lead time and an alternative solutions.
I am genuinely appreciative of the heightened level of customer service I've been receiving, which marks a significant improvement from before. Despite this, it's disappointing to learn that Comp Cams is experiencing widespread supply chain issues, negatively impacting lead times and adding to the frustration of fulfilling orders. As of May 11th, 2024, I am still waiting for the parts needed to complete my project."

    Customer Answer

    Date: 03/15/2024

I received 95% of my order on March 14, 2024. The only items pending are the push rods, scheduled to arrive on March 16, 2024. ***** played a crucial role in processing my order; his dedication ensured that I didn't face additional extended delays. I am grateful for the service provided and satisfied with how Comp Cams resolved this matter.

I ordered an elecronic ignition from Fuel Air Spark Technology, (part of the Edelbrock / Comp Cams group), on November 20, 2023. The item has never arrived. I have repeatedly called all the phone numbers listed for the company, and remained on hold for thirty minutes on several occasions, but nobody ever answers. I have also sent multiple e-mails which have all gone unanswered. There are many ****** customer reviews complaining of the same treatment.

Ordered and paid $1,242.95 for COMP Cams Magnum Retrofit Cam and Lifter Kits K32-411-8 on July 05, 2023 through Summit Racing (Order Number: #*******) with a back order and promised delivery date of 30 days and is expected to ship directly from the supplier (COMP Cams). On 8/17/2023 after not receiving delivery and contacting Summit that the new delivery date would be 08/25/2023 provided by COMP Cams. After no delivery, on 9/25/2023 I contacted Summit again an received an update that the new delivery date would be 9/29/2023 as provided by COMP Cams. When the promised delivery was again not met I contacted Summit on 10/02/2023 and was informed the item is currently out of stock and a new delivery date of 10/20/2023.I understand there is a lead time for camshafts and was ok with a wait, would but expect that COMP Cams be able to provide a committed delivery date instead of continuing to push a a date.At this point if I were to cancel the order, await a $1,242.95 refund and order from another supplier puts me potentially months out on this build.COMP Cams, make this right and deliver on your promised date.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/03/2023

We certainly apologize for the delay in shipping your order.  The issue we have with some camshafts - yours in particular - is that the blank or core for that camshaft that we use to make the finished product, comes from another manufacturer, and they keep moving the delivery date on when we will get those blanks.  The best advice is to keep in on order and we will ship it as soon as we possibly can.  Once again sorry for the delay and we are sincerely trying to ship parts as fast as we can.

I am rejecting this response because:

It is understandable on-time deliveries arent always within a businesss control. However, acknowledging the delay and contacting your customer is within your control. In the over 90 days of missed delivery commitments, updates were only provided by prompt.

I respectfully request a realistic delivery date be provided.

Bought a cam/lifter kit from amazon.Parts are missing.Contacted amazon and they sent me to the seller who sent me back to amazon. No one will take responcability for my missing parts. I have spent 6 days on phone and online to get missing parts or refund. Amazon and comp cams have decided to steal my money and not give me the missing parts.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/15/2023

Any product bought from a 3rd party like Amazon, must be refunded through that 3rd party.  We (COMP Cams) did not collect your money and therefore cannot return it.  We sold the part to Amazon, and they sold it to you.  If you want the missing parts, that inquiry also has to be done through Amazon.  This is clearly stated in our return an exchange policy here:  ************************************************** .  We work with Amazon to do returns all the time, so I am unsure why they will not work with you.

My son, ****************** purchased a Comp cam -cam and lifter set through Summit Racing on 3-27-2022 they just finished assembling the engine this year and he took the truck out to test and tune it and the lifters failed and damaged the cam, pistons and and cylinder wall. I contacted summit racing and spoke with ****** who advised me to start with contacting Comp cams directly to see if they would make an exception of being beyond the 1 year warranty. I called and spoke with ***** who asked me to em pictures/summary of what happened and the replacement type of cam my son would like to replace it with. He told me to send broken parts in for inspection and didnt think being outside of the year would be a problem to get it covered. I em the requested info. That evening em him additional pics and let him know there were bigger problems when my husband and son took it apart (the pistons and cylinder head damage). He em me back in am and said they could not warranty the parts because they didnt feel it was their part that failed! I asked to speak with a mngr -who was very rude & condescending- and basically said its not their problem and the retainer failed and caused the lifter to fail. I explained my husband has been a mechanic by trade for 35 years and said the ball at end of lifter broke off causing the lifter to go sideways breaking the retainer which then damaged everything else He pretty much said thats just an opinion. I told him 3 other lifters are failing in the same spot so how could he say its not a faulty part!He said best they can due is offer a discount for future order but didnt specify what that would be. Meanwhile the whole engine has to be rebuilt costing THOUSANDS of dollars due to THEIR failed part. I contacted summit today and they told me Comp cams had a faulty batch/batches of cams and lifters that is a KNOWN problem but apparently are not covering them. This is unacceptable and my son at MINIMUM deserves a refund or replacement of those parts

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/17/2023

    Hi

My son spoke with CompCam today and they are supposedly going to replace the cam and lifters for him since after speaking with one of their techs he was told the retainer would only break if something else (such as their part, the lifter) broke first!
    will have more information Monday

    Business Response

    Date: 08/18/2023

Our warranty manager is currently reviewing this and will be in contact with the customer.  The person who talked to the consumer was not the warranty manager as I just spoke directly with him, and he told me this matter just came to him.  From the information provided to this point, it does not appear that our part failed, but was a consequence of another part failing, but more information can help immensely.  As far as the comment from the Summit tech and COMP Cams having faulty batches of parts, that is completely untrue, and this matter will be discussed directly with Summit.

We will do our best to come to a resolution that is acceptable for all parties involved.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/18/2023

My son talked directly with Comp cams tech yesterday who in fact said that a retainer does not break unless another part breaks first in which my son asked so if a valve breaks it could break the retainer correct? The tech answered yes correct
Summit representative told ME myself yesterday and again this morning they were having a bunch of customer complaints/issues with ******************** and lifter sets failing and causing severe engine damage in which they concluded was poor quality control/ faulty batch issued from CompCams  I have the name of ******* I spoke to at Summit however it is irrelevant.

Also on the forums you can see the numerous complaints from consumers having the same issue as my son.

Its very disheartening to know such a large company would rather continue arguing with a consumer instead of just owning up to it and replacing it and not just giving an opinion of what they THINK happened!

    POOR customer service, hands down!

Also my son spoke with ***** after he spoke with the tech  that told him they would replace the cam/lifter set under warranty and ***** also told him it wouldnt be a problem. He then em my son and said basically hes sorry to get his hopes up but he realized that **** was my son and that I talked to him the day before so they arent going to warranty it. LOL  My son said wait a minute before you knew who I was and I explained what happened it wasnt a problem to warranty, now all of a sudden you realize my mom called yesterday its not going to be warranty?! **** then asked to speak with his boss who told him they will warranty it not because their part failed but pretty much for good customer service. **** also explained he is not comfortable running CompCams so he would like the replacement to be a different brand

Ordered a cam and lifters, order #*********, on Feb 17, they stated mid April for shipment, its now June and nothing. My issue is all my inquiries are being ignored, I have emailed, sat on hold for an hour and left messages with no response. I understand a lot of companies are having supply chain issues but if they take your money upfront then they need to communicate with their customers. At this point I just want a refund. I have used their products in the past so this is super disappointing but seems to be their MO now.
