I scheduled a beginner motorcycle class on May 4 and May 5 according to the website the class I paid for was from 7:00am to 2:00pm both days, and this is what happened on May 4: I arrived to the class very excited because my husband and my son took this class the previous weekend and it was great, but the first thing the instructor said that the class was from 7:00am to 12:00 something I replied to him and said the class is until 2:00pm something he did not like at all, also when he passed the list of the students he was making fun of my last name (I am Latino). The class was a beginner class (for people that never ride a motorcycle before) there is a series of exercises that he was ******* through becase as he said there is another class starting at 12:00 , and as I mentioned before in the website said 7:00am to 2:00pm.Because he was ******* to finish he did not like answering questions, about 10:00am he asked me to leave because I was taking to much of his time, he handed me a personal business card and offered private clases (of course for more $$$).His explanation to kicked out was that I did not passed the last exercise, I did everything without falling or hitting the cones, other students hit the cones and they were not kicked out as me. Now I am trying to reschedule the class and they want to charge me $150 or free bit I have to call every Friday to check if someone cancel, I called today and they told that because is the high season it may take months, I checked the website they have open classes but I have to pay. I did not do anything wrong to be kicked out the class, I find out that there are cameras recording and I ask ******************** to checked the recording, to check my side of story. I deserve to be able to scheduled in a class without having to go through all this.

We have been communicating with ******* since her class. We offer the basic motorcycle safety course though the Tennessee Highway Patrol and act as a third party tester for the **** We have been offering these classes since 1998. The class curriculum is made up of 14 exercises where each exercise has to be met before proceeding to the next exercise.  While class is listed for the hours each day, if an exercise didn't get met, the student can't move on as the next exercise requires the precious skill to be met.  We have explained that to *******. Her husband and son both attended our class previously and were both successful.  Sometimes it takes more than once to go through class to grasp the necessary skills to ride a motorcycle.  Our classes aren't pay and pass as we are charged to ensure we don't issue certificates for the *** if a student hasn't mastered the skills to ride a motorcycle.

Her complaint about the coach ******* her is her not understanding that she didn't master the skill of one exercise so she couldn't continue to the next.  We checked with other students in class who by the way sent in positive class reviews unknowing about *******'s complaints.

She is asking for recordings of the class and there are none. We do not have cameras to review classes as we use parking lots to hold classes.

We have offered ******* a free class on stand by. All she has to do is call the office on Fridays and if there has been a cancellation, she can attend that class for no charge.

We also offered her a sizable discount off any class she chooses to retake if she wants to reschedule it.

We wish everyone who took class could pass.  Most do. But motorcycling is serious fun and before a student is successful in class, they must master the skills necessary to operate the motorcycle.

We can only present the curriculum and skills necessary to ride but the student has to show proficiency of the skill and demonstrate it. If they don't, they can't move on and are told they can come back and try again at a later date. It's for their safety as well as for the other students in class.

We understand ******* is disappointed and have given her options to retake and hope she will take advantage of these opportunities   Sometimes it takes more than one class to grasp the skills necessary to ride. We believe if she will retake the class either at no charge or at a discount from us, she will be successful

    Customer Answer

The main reason of my complaint is that the Couch lied when he said I did not master the exercises, also I spoke to one of the Managers on the Harley ******** dealership, where the class was teach his name is **** he said there are security cameras on the back parking lot, I asked for those recordings to be checked, because that is the proof that I did What I supposed to do on each exercise. The problem here was a personal problem with the coach, he did not like when I speak up about him making fun of my last name, we are in ******* and that is unacceptable, and is so sad that the people on top of this Coach supports that type of behavior. I am not asking for pay and pass, I deserve the chance to take my class and demonstrate what I can do in a motorcycle and be qualified by a just professional Coach that is there to teach and not make fun of someone because of where they come from, I understand that I was place on a stand by situation, but that was unfair, as a paying customer I deserve to be able to schedule a class, not for a half price because I already paid for the class.
Harley ******** dealership on *********************** have recording cameras in the back parking lot. The Manager **** provided me with that information, I request for those recordings to be checked. Please! Video doesnt lie!
