On February 10, **** I parked my vehicle in the Spring Lot off 9th Ave South approximately 5:40 pm. I scanned the qr code, met my friends, came back to find my vehicle booted and tickets approximately 10 minutes after I paid for parking. I contacted the non emergency metro number, called tristar enf, and I videoed the entire scam as I am a single woman, it was raining, and I did NOT feel safe. They claimed to have found proof I paid, but said I entered my license plate information incorrectly, and still charged me $75. I have called the company multiple times. When someone does answer, they are young and do not know the owner or GMs name. I called again today and spoke with ****** (GM) to assure him I would pursue this scam. He continued to refuse to disclose his last name or the owner of the company.I am filing a complaint with metro, and will be going to my bank tomorrow. There is also an investigative reporter, *********************** ********************* who is collecting information about this ******************* Tristar Enforcement. Clearly and sadly, I am not the only one who has experienced these Scammers. Lets join together and stop these jokers from ruining our city!Business Response

Tristar has been in communication with the customer to resolve this issue. As per the customer's own admission she states that she did not verify that her information was correct for what she was paying for. She paid for a different license plate which means; she paid for a different car to be parked in the lot in question. Upon her ability to show the enforcement officer what had happened; the violation was dismissed as a courtesy, and the customer was only required to pay the boot removal fee.
The only information any enforcement officer can look up on a vehicle parked in one of the lots is the license plate. The license plate was not paid for; therefore, the violation and boot were legally placed on the vehicle. the customer is upset that they forgot to verify that all the information they said was correct in their account was not entered correctly which resulted in repercussions.
Thank you,
Tristar Enforcement GM

I was parking in ********* on a job, when I got back to my truck there was a boot on my truck I had inadvertently put the incorrect license plate number in the app. I paid the ****** and ***** to metropolis and the officer said to send the receipt in to get reimbursed after I a paid the fine it was still and hour and 1/2 to remove the boot. . I have tried all the gmail addresses and they all get rejected. How to I get this resolved it seems there is no way to contact this company.Business Response

This customer has been refunded the violation amount since they were able to prove that they had paid for parking. The issue; the customer presented to the officer was that they paid for the wrong license plate. The receipt was not provided at the time of the boot removal, so the customer did pay the full boot fee and violation at the time of the incident. The full violation amount has been refunded because the customer was able to provide proof of a valid receipt. The boot fee will not be refunded due to "vehicle owner negligence" though - It is the responsibility of the customer to make sure they have the correct information on their account. Our officers are unable to verify that information; they can only look up a license plate; if the plate shows unpaid the vehicle can and will be booted.
As of 01/05/23 this customer has had their violation fine reimbursed to them.
Thank you,

Oct 28, 2023, my birthday. According to the rep that showed up to removed the boot after non payment I was in the ****** lot within printers alley. However, when I arrived at this lot and scanned the ** code from the company website metroplois, I paid *****. Which went through successfully. It never stated what lot or didnt even give me any info to put in. Theres no visible sign of what lot you are scanning in. And nor did the web page say what lot I was in, it just gave me a payment of *****. Which I paid. I would like to remind you again, I scanned the code that was in front of my car, had receipt of the payment because Ive used metropolis before at the garage that is right around the corner. Tristar nor metropolis would take responsibility for the error in the ** code which was so unfair to me. The rep I spoke was extremely rude and there was no compromise outside of paying $185 to remove the boot and the $20 bucks I paid originally. I have screenshots of my receipt, which has my old car tag. Have a new car. And I have pictures of my car in the lot, not the GARAGE. The ***************** who came to remove my boot wouldnt even simply listen. Why would my car be here if I paid for a garage parking space. Im literally in the lot where you booted my car. I am also pretty sure the restaurant on the corner who has a camera can see me pull up, pay and park and leave for a few hrs for my birthday. I am directly in view of this camera. To me, there should be a lawsuit because so many people have been booted unfairly. shouldve never had to pay a total of 200 bucks for an error on whoevers part it was. But for me to scan and takes me directly to payment shows I wasnt trying to scam the system. Why would I purposely go into a garage, pay, and then leave to park in a lot. None of it makes sense and I truly think a refund should be given. But wishful thinking. It was my birthday, I have asthma which is stressed induced and the rest of my night was slight ruined due to this.Business Response

ON July 16th 2023 I parked in a parking lot in *********. Used the parking app on line to pay for my parking. When I returned to my vehicle I found a boot had been placed on it for non payment. The app at the time had no evidence of my payment so I was charged $174.00 to release my vehicle. Later that night I received a receipt for payment of parking at the time of my arrival. I sent all the documentation to Tristar as instructed. On July 26th received an email from them stating they agreed they were in error and would refund my $174.00 within 7 days. It's been 25 days now and I have not received my refund. I have sent them several emails but have gotten no responds. This sure does leave a bad impression on Tristar as well as the ***************** for allowing this company to do business this way. I see several complaints similar to mine about them.Business Response

This entity is claiming to represent the ***************** to enforce parking. The city of ********* states that no third party works to enforce their parking violations. We were traveling through ********* and received a boot on our car, not realizing it was a paid lot late in the evening. The sticker just said $75 warning, call this number to have it removed When the agent came, they are simply wearing a shirt with the company name, and explained it wasnt just $75, but $174 because it was their fee + citation to the city. I asked how long I have to pay the city citation, she explained the whole amount was due right then before my car could be released. So a city citation with no copy, no documentation, no chance to appear before a judge due immediatelyand you pay by allowing them to take a picture of your credit card on an iPhone app. Count me among the many reporting this as a total scam. I wish I would have called the police but instead paid the fee and disputed my credit card charge.Business Response

Good Morning , Tristar Enforcement is a contractor for Metropolis to enforce their parking lots. That is private property, which we enforce for Non - Payment or Previous Violations. I paid for a parking spot in the ****** Lot through Parking.com. When I returned to my vehicle I had a boot on my car. I called the number on the sticker as instructed and when the Tri Star Enforcement officer returned to be vehicle, he noted I had an outstanding ticket from exactly 3 weeks prior. I notified him that I never received notice of the violation and he said it was sent via mail. Its been 3 weeks and Ive never been notified of this violation. My only option was to pay the fine in order to obtain access to my vehicle again. This is absolute negligence on behalf of Tri Star by not properly and fairly notifying customers of potential violations as I would have happily paid for any violation I was aware of. The expectation to pay any violation when tickets are sent via mail is unfair and should be considered unlawful. This is a money grab.Business Response

I scanned to park in a private lot. Unknowing to me, there was a glitch in the website according to the tri star enforcement officer. He admitted that several customers had the same problem at this same lot. Cameras captured me scanning the ** code to pay to park. Somehow this didnt register (the glitch) resulting in a boot on my car. What should have been a $20 parking time resulted in me paying $170 to have a boot removed. I called to have it removed and ***** (tri star employee) refused my payment and left stranding me in downtown ********* close to midnight with two teen girls. I had to call the police department to get him back out there to remove the boot. It took him 30 mins to get there and removed the boot with law enforcement presence. I feel scammed by tri star as I tried to follow their rules by scanning to park. This incident was on May 29, 2023 at around 11 pm at the private lot on the corner of Commerce and Rep ******************* at the premier parking lot.Business Response

On the evening of March 9, 2023, I parked my vehicle at the **** Lot West at ************************** ** *****. I then immediately scanned the ** code and registered my vehicle to pay for parking. Upon returning to my vehicle there was a immobilization sticker and a boot on the tire stating it is immobilized for non payment. I called the number for Tristar Enforcement to get the boot removed, assuming it was a misunderstanding, but they still forced me to pay the $75 non payment fee to get the boot removed. Their claim was the vehicle was not registered on the site, even though I had showed them a receipt with the correct license plate number. The attendant disregarded the receipt completely. The following morning, I emailed Tristar Enforcement and they stated that "the *** on your Metropolis profile was different from the one on the vehicle at the start of the visit. Unfortunately due to vehicle owner negligence to correct the plate, the $75 boot fee is valid". This is absolutely false and a lie, as I showed them the receipt from the original parking fee, and the receipt to remove the boot, and the license plate number was exactly the same. This is absolutely unacceptable and a downright scam.Business Response

My husband and I paid $45 for parking for a 12 hour time limit in a parking lot off of commerce Street for the SEC basketball tournaments. when we got to our car around 5 PM, There was a boot on my husbands vehicle. I asked him to make sure that he paid, and he pulled up the receipt, showing his time limit, and where he had paid, we called the people on the boot sticker and she asked ** if we were in the Tahoe and we said no were in an Altima -evidence this is happening to many other people. she arrives approximately 20 minutes later and we show her the receipt expecting her to just remove the boot. She argues that the license plate was not correct, but it never asked for a license plate to be entered. She admitted that they used to have a problem with that in the app but it was fixed. Apparently it was not fixed. She said either way we would still have to pay $75 to have the boot removed and if we wanted to dispute the charge we would have to send an email to tristar ******************* and then she said that she had more pressing matters to attend to, and left us there for another hour, even though my husband told her he had the money and would pay she drove off. This whole process is a scam it took over an hour and a half longer than it shouldve taken and we had a child to pick up from daycare in ************ that I had to arrange new transportation for. TriStar Enfrcement has a 1.5 rating out of five and every review talks about how they did the exact same thing to them. the vehicle parked next to us had the same issue when the three girls got out to their car and saw that they were booted and had already paid as well so this is an obvious scam and illegal.
