It is seemingly impossible to speak to anyone at this company, and it also seems to be that way be design. They have no interest in hearing legitimate concerns. They have a canned response, as I can see confirmed in previous reviews here. It simply says. "Hello,This email is to let you know that your agent has marked your dispute ticket (#xxxxxx) as solved and it will be closed in the next 48 hours." There is no other information. Nothing to address my initial message.
Calling their number gets you an answering service that will not transfer you to anyone, only refers you to the email address. If you try to contact the property owner, at least in the case of the ******** ******* on Demonbreun St, it is owned by Metropolis, which interestingly is also hard to get to a real person and replies to emails with the exact same canned response. There is clearly a collaboration or joint ownership, etc.
I contacted the Nashville Metropolitan Government, who publishes the city ordinance for parking charges, processes, licenses, booting companies, etc. and they referred me directly to the Nashville PD, who of course was not interested in a matter like this which is trivial to them. I could not get to the administrative office responsible for the ordinance. However, according to the published ordinance on their website, I believe I was charged more than is allowable. Also, the side of the lot that I parked on had no signage. The signage was only on the spots on the opposite side of the lot so it appeared as though the side I parked on was excluded from requiring a fee.
I have spent hours trying to track this down and it's a somewhat circular process. These companies are operating as they see fit and the victims have no recourse. Hopefully the BBB will look into this with more success than I had.

I do not believe your complaint is with Tristar Enforcement at all but the actual parking lot owner. Please know that Tristar Enforcement is a third party enforcement company, and we are not responsible for anything outside of enforcing parking infractions.

On 10/09/23 while visiting from out of state I parked in a parking lot to eat at a restaurant in Nashville. When my wife and two friends came out of the restaurant, my vehicle had been booted. The Tri-star Enforcement employee was standing next to my vehicle. When I asked her why my vehicle had been booted, she stated I was parked in a private lot. I told her there were no signs. She said, " There is. It is behind that truck over there." I asked how I was supposed to know that and she said that the sign was not placed very well. She charged me $195 to pay the "fine" and remove the boot. I paid on site and she removed the boot. I have received three (3) "Violation summaries" from Metropolis stating I owe $120 for the same violation that I previously paid $195. I contacted Metropolis two times disputing the duplicate charge while providing a copy of my paid receipt. Twice Metropolis sent me an email stating that my dispute is solved and I need take no further action.
Today on 01/10/24, I received another "Violation Summary" that I owed $120. I contacted Metropolis by phone. They told me that TRI-STAR ENFORCEMENT keeps sending them notices that my "violation" has not been paid. They told me I needed to contact Tri-stardisputes. I sent Tri-Star an email with my paid receipt attached. Tri-Star Enforcement is apparently a poorly run business. Hopefully they will stop sending notices that my "fine" is unpaid. I will look "behind trucks" next time I'm in Nashville and if it is a parking lot associated with Tri-star Enforcement, I will not be parking there. It would also be nice if they refunded the $75 I was overcharged.

Please reach out to our email at: [email protected]
These issues are typically resolved within 5-7 business days. This seems highly unusual that our team would have ignored your request; especially when you state that you showed proof you paid for the violation and boot.

I have read all the complaints. I am in shock after spending 46,30 to park and the scan system asked for my phone number and with out entering my plate number charged me . Then I came out with a boot and had to pay the extortion fee of 75$ when clearly in my phone I had paid . And I'm sure they caught me on camera arriving and scanning . I used my phone my phone number was confirmed my credit card etc!!! Now to dispute and get my money back you can't speak to anyone . I have sent several emails with no luck. Horrible practice nashville !

We do our best as a company to hear requests and complaints of customers. When somebody does something wrong and does not expect a consequence; that is where our company can look like the bad guy. People make mistakes and we try our best to treat the customer with the same respect we would like to receive and may not always deserve. We are only human at the end of the day.

Email thread with customer for exact reference:

The ticket was issued on 11/22/23 and was still unpaid when vehicle was booted on 12/04/23. This is a failure of the customer to handle the ticket that was placed on the vehicle the day of the incident. The customer instead chose to wait until he was forced to pay the ticket due to the boot enforcement. The following email thread shows the customer admitted to wrongdoing (names removed for safety concerns) and was just mad that he got caught.

      Customer:

      Hello,

I am writing in concern to a parking boot that was placed on a vehicle I own. I currently have and maintain a paid parking subscription to the lot next door to **** **** **** where my daughter attends school which is owned and managed by Metropolis. I was alerted on 12/4/23 around 4PM by my daughter that her car has a boot applied, however we have a paid parking subscription for that specific lot. It turns out later we discovered there was a parking ticket issued from another lot on 11/22/23 that we were unaware of since my daughter is a minor and I (**** ____) is the registered owner of the vehicle and have not received a notice in regards to the parking ticket. Part of my concern is that I was not provided with reasonable time to pay the parking ticket considering the car was booted less than 2 weeks of receiving the ticket and my primary concern is that my teenage daughter was stranded in a parking lot where we hold a monthly subscription (I reiterate) in the middle of downtown at dawn. This action seems unreasonable and I am requesting a full refund of the booting fee since the parking ticket was paid within the requirements according to metropolis.

I have previously filed this complaint with Metropolis and was directed to file the complaint with your company since the ticket was paid on time and we are in compliance with our contract with Metropolis.

      Tristar Enforcement:

      ****,

I see that the ticket was issued on 11/22. The ticket was clearly placed on the windshield of the vehicle the night of the violation as shown on the violation pictures on record. The violation had not been paid when the vehicle was booted on a following date. The boot and the violation were legally placed on the vehicle. There will be no refund of the violation or boot fee. This dispute is: DENIED.

      Thank you,

      Tristar Enforcement Disputes

      ****:

I'm not disputing the ticket- I'm disputing the boot. I was very clear and transparent in my previous email.

I will reach out to Metropolis since they understand the dispute and have directed me to dispute the booting of the vehicle.

      Tristar Enforcement:

      ****,

Your dispute is: DENIED. The boot fee will not be returned to you.

      Thank you,

      Tristar Enforcement Disputes

      **** ****:

Clearly...As I stated in the previous email I will reach out to Metropolis and file a complaint with BBB.

They put a boot on my vehicle even though my car is registered with metropolis. They said even though it's immoral, they have to collect the fine because their officer ordered the boot. After 2 hours of wait and the customer service officer answering my call saying they would hang up on me and I have to wait, and then stopped answering my calls. I am still sitting here in my car waiting for them to come remove the boot.
      Rude and immoral.

Attempted to pay for parking through the app. It was authorized. Most lots start charging automatically, this one did not. I was booted and charged $167. They would not budge despite me entering my credit card info and attempting to pay.

All Metropolis lots are scan to pay; that is why it clearly states on all their signs "scan to pay"
Tristar Enforcement is not responsible for anything outside of booting vehicles that have violated the agreed upon terms when a customer parks in the private lot. Your complaint is not with Tristar Enforcement.

Seemed suspicious, asked the guy who came to remove the boot for ID (refused) so I refused to pay and caught an **** home. Next morning they tried to remove (no charge) it after voicing my concerns and asking for company info from Michael, the General Manager who sounds incredibly young and net very professional on the phone. Another revenue mention a teenager involved in the operation and Michael, the GM sounds like a very, very young person. I think the company might be registered to his parents house in Brentwood? (laywer is researching further) Filed a police report and was instructed by the police not to pay them under any circumstances. Again, they tried to remove it and could'nt saying it was put on incorrectly (documented on video/ video now in the pocession of the police) and then changed their tune and said I damaged it and owed them $175 for it as it wouldn't come off. Depsite the lady they sent (Lexi) having me move the car back and forth to try and lossen it. Now, a $72K brand new *** being reported to my insurance company as lost property as I have now legally lost control of use of the vehicle as now instructed by police not to pay them. The website is the first clue that this is not a professional operation, the legality of their practice, of their operation will quickly be revealed with due course now that I am down and by the letter of the law, lost pocession of a brand new ***.

      To whom it may concern,

The customer who left this review is upset that his vehicle was legally booted. He admitted he did not pay for parking in the lot he parked where signs are clearly posted that violators will be ticketed, booted, and/or towed. Due to his unwillingness and direct admission that he tried to move the vehicle before my enforcement officer even arrived to deal with this customer. Any damages that the customer claims he received to his vehicle are lies because of his admission of guilt. We have picture evidence of all damages to our property. It is the fault of the customer that this incident ever occurred. The customer has continued to refuse to pay the cost of the boot(because he damaged the boot beyond use), the boot fee, and the violation. We also have all of the phone calls of the customer being belligerent and cursing at my enforcement officers and myself during this entire incident.

The customer did not pay for parking; and does not like the consequences for his actions. When the customer pays all necessary fines for 1. the damage he did to Tristar Enforcement property 2. the fines for illegally parking in the lot and 3. any other fees that have been incurred since the originally incident.      The customer will be able to drive his car home freely.

Feels like this company prays on tourist who come to visit. On June 22,2023 we parked at the 4th and Shelby location in Nashville, paid for 24 hour parking. Coming from Vegas I am used to paying for parking with QR codes. I scanned the code did the whole set up and confirmed parking. I found it odd I did not receive a confirmation email, text, etc. So I went to do the whole process again just to double check but it stated that the license plate had already been registered. There for it went through the first time. We went out and enjoyed our day out, dropped bags off at the car around 4:30pm there was notting. We went and spent an hour & 1/2 at most on Broadway. We got back to our car and it had a boot on it along with a sticker saying nonpayment. We called the number the tag provided. Maybe 10-15 minutes later 2 guys arrived to remove the immobilizing device from the tire. One of the guys was maybe 17 teen years old, which kind of through me off. They kept saying that the profile was not set up correctly. I explained to it that I completed it and got a text welcoming me to the parking lot. He just kept insisting that it was a incomplete profile. I asked how to have it resolved he said we would have to pay the $75 fine and $95 removal. $175 later we we off. Let me mention there were multiple cars with boots on them. There was another couple there that had a boot and they were telling them it was because they added an extra letter/# to there license plate when they entered it, yet there payment we through. The next morning I received a text message reminding me that my parking would be expiring. After that text I started researching this company and saw how many people they do this too. Same excuses, same lie, It is a total scam!!! Shame on you for scamming tourist coming to your city and providing you tourism revenue! I will remember to never park at one of these lots again.

I received a non-paid ticket at 12:14, boot was on at 12:36. You have to pay the cost for parking, then the ticket, then the cost to remove the boot. Both ********** (for allowing people's cars to be booted within 30 minutes of a parking ticket and Tristar enforcement are absolutely vial and are terrible businesses. Tristar, when they came to remove my boot informed me that not only do I pay the parking + "fine" to **********, I needed to pay them to remove the boot. When challenged, the GM spouted out the law that was part of script that supported this company's actions. I received a text message reminder from **********  that my time was about to expire and if I would like to extend my parking! I can't believe these folks sleep at night knowing they're just scamming the crap out of folks.

Visited Nashville on May 19,2023. Paid through the app and came back to a boot that was placed 10 minutes after parking. We paid for 2 hours of parking. The parking attendant came and removed the boot and said he cleared everything up but I just received an $85.25 Parking Violation in the mail. Beyond frustrated!
