      RE: ***************** conditioning non-functional

      This is unacceptable and makes 21 days since I filed my first maintenance request in June. I started a second maintenance request on July 8th. It has been 83 degrees inside my apartment since about 12 noon. 80 degrees still at 0440 am. I talked to the apartment office person about possibly obtaining a second stand alone air conditioning unit. I am elderly and on a fixed income and I need the rooms to be cooled. The heat is not good on my medicines. And since the air conditioner almost never turns off, I will have a larger than usual electric bill. The management will not provide a second stand alone air conditioning unit. The management has been excusing this situation saying they have a long list of repairs. Again, this is a health and financial issue for me.

      The AC has been repaired with an air temperature of 54 degrees. During the time it was not working properly the resident was supplied with a portable a/c. The maintenance team left the portable unit in the apartment to assist with the air conditioning since he is on the top floor facing the afternoon sun until the temperatures drop.

      The ac is still having difficulty keeping up with the heat. I don't agree that my location should have anything to do with the fact that the unit is not cooling the entire apartment effectively. I am forced to live in my bedroom and cannot use the living room or kitchen with the heat. Forecasted high temperatures are to be above 100 degrees the next 8 days. I am elderly. The apartment management considers my job number to be closed. The air conditioner needs to be fixed. Location has nothing to do with the fact that the AC unit cannot keep up with the heat.

      ****, these record-breaking summer temperatures are affecting our entire community so we do have an influx of maintenance requests at this time. We are working tirelessly to ensure your comfort and have no intention of neglecting your unit or dismissing your concerns. The AC systems are scheduled to be repaired. This does take time, as we use an outside contractor for HVAC repairs to ensure they are done professionally and correctly. Our resident's wellbeing is very important to us. If you would like to speak to a manager about any specific requests or ways we can help in the meantime, we are happy to listen and find a way forward. Again, the air conditioners are scheduled for repair.

      It has been 38 days since the last maintenance report was filed. Since then there has been little in the way of repair or fixing the unit's ac. I am currently using two additional air conditioning units to supplement the poorly operating apartment air conditioner: a stand alone unit and a window unit. Two box fans run night and day to distribute air from the two additional units. Maintenance workers have supplied one of the ac units and I had to buy my own ac unit when no other ac units were available from the management. Maintenance has attempted to repair the outside apartment unit. I already have had the second largest electric **** ever, I'm on a fixed income. Who **** pay for the higher ****? I **** have to. I pay all of my bills on time but don't feel the owners of the apartments have moved quickly enough to solve my air conditioning problem. I am elderly and need this fixed. The owners have known about this issue for over a month.
