    I rented a Dunking Booth as a fund raiser for ********* ****** ****** (501C3). I am a board member for this non profit. Upon reserving I was told I would need to return it by 9a.m. I told the gentleman I live 2 hours away that wouldn't be possible. He said " we are pretty lenient and this is for a non profit just get it back and it will be ok". I also told the woman "Susan" went I picked it up that I could not have it back by 9.a.m. they maid me pay a 200.00 deposit up front along with the rental. I returned the tank at 2:30pm the date it was due. They billed me 172.16 which is 20.00 less than a full day rental. I told them no I said I couldn't have it back by 9am and everyone said that was OK and said nothing about late fees. The contract also says nothing about late fee prices. We held a fundraiser for a non profit and now have lost more then we made. I would like my full deposit back as they verbally said it was ok to be after 9a.m. and the contract shows nothing about fees.

    I did previously respond to this complaint.   When writing a contract we circle on the contract and verbally explain when equipment is due back.  Nothing else is promised or implied.  If a customer is running behind, the computer will prorate additional rental fees based on the equipment's hourly rate.  This contract was closed over five (5) hours late, which is close to an additional day.  We did watch the video from our surveillance and he did say he might be a little late and was told by our counter employee that the computer would figure it out on his return.   At no time did anyone say he would NOT be charged for returning late.   It is normal business practice for any rental store to charge for the full amount of time that a piece of equipment is rented.
