I ordered a class ring from Balfour in April. Received it 9 weeks later on June 20th. (1 week past their latest estimate.) When I examined the ring, there were multiple problems with it. The gem looks like the back of it is pock marked or the glue has nicks in it. There's black paint covering surfaces that shouldn't be black. There's patches that are clearly unfinished. There's a gash in the metal ring surrounding the center gem. I contacted Balfour to resolve the issue. I submitted emails with descriptions and pictures of the problems. They sent me a shipping label to send back the ring for their repair department. I was told the repairs would take 4-6 weeks to get the ring back, fixed. It's been 3 weeks, and I got the ring back a couple days ago. The ring was not fixed. The chips on the back of the stone are still there. There's still black paint on surfaces that shouldn't be black (they actually painted more surfaces black). And there's still parts of the surface that are unfinished. I called Balfour, again, to find out what happened. I spoke with *******************. The only thing she would say was that I should have sent in a letter with the ring stating the problems. When I repeatedly pointed out I sent that in an email, with pictures, she would only repeat her statement about a letter, or stay silent. At no point during my numerous previous calls did ANY representative notify me I had to this, which I also pointed out to ****. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, **** refused to transfer me to one, saying she would collect my information and have someone call me back in 24 hours. I've been told this multiple times before, but only once has anyone followed up. A quick ****** search will reveal that lack of follow up seems to be pervasive at Balfour, so I have 0 expectation I'll be called back.
