Have had two pregnancies back to back and did genetic testing with both. First test went through insurance and I only had to pay a couple hundred dollars, this time around I received a bill for over $600 which is outrageous. I called Natera to try and lower cost to their advertised $250 cost and they said since it was already billed through insurance, they were unable to honor that. How does that make sense? What a horrible company. I know I'm not the only one affected but how ridiculous.Natera, Inc.

I called to know how my billing will be structured and whether prior authorizations were obtained. 1. I was on the line waiting 1.5 hours. Another hour explaining my request three times, so 2.5 hours in total.2. I was told two different things about billing. One person assured me that I will be able to choose how to pay, via insurance or out of pocket, AFTER I receive EOB. Other person told that they cannot tell me the price for insurance, but once they run EOB it goes through the insurance without any choice. Two totally different things. And no notes left for my account so no one would ever know how and when I was mislead.3. They did not obtained prior authorization for one of the tests. And I had to call two times. If I wouldnt, I would never know. 4. They have no customer service. This is the most deceptive genetic testing I ever had, and if you are pregnant this is just detrimental to your health to have less of stress.Natera, Inc.

Was my first pregnancy and hit with the message about how good it would be to do genetic testing and was told insurance usually covers but if not, out of pocket would be no more than $200.I saw they billed my insurance almost $4000 which is crazy ridiculous and we would have to pay almost $700 which we were not budgeting for. I called customer service for assistance with billing and they weren't helpful at all. This company needs to be shut down considering others have the same complaint and the prices seem to be all over the place.Natera, Inc.

I was told by my wife's OB that I needed to take the Horizon Screen due to having an abnormality in my wife's results. I was told they would just bill my insurance. Three months after the procedure was performed, I receive a bill for $749. I also discovered, after receiving the bill, that my insurance was out of network with Natera. This feels very predatory and sketchy billing on the part of Natera. I'm not sure when it was determined that my insurance was out of network, but if a test costs $10,000 there should be some form of prior authorization with the insurance company prior to running the screen. If it was determined that my insurance was out of network before running the genetic testing, I should have been notified with estimation of costs involved. If it was not determined that insurance was out of network until after testing was done, then it should be at the fault of Natera for not determining if I have funding available to pay for testing, or if I would like to continue with the testing. I have called customer service, but no help there. I should not have to pay that amount for Natera's ineptitude and poor process.Natera, Inc.

God willing, if I ever have another child- I will do everything I can to avoid this company's service. I was pregnant and had my child all the way back in 2022 and my midwife used the Natera service. I had this done on 6/9/22. I received my insurance notice through ***** on 11/9/22 that I did not owe anything for this service. I received no further contact until 2 years later on 4/19/24 through harassing emails, texts, and phone calls that I owed even more than what was initially billed to me. Calling this company back was another frustrating experience with no acknowledgement to what I had been told by my insurance company. I then called my insurance after continuous harassments by Natera- and received 2 case numbers with them reaching out to Natera to take care of this issue. However, I am still getting continual harassing notices 3 years later. I would just like this to stop, please. My insurance has already taken care of this bill from the beginning and I believe that Natera has been nothing but predatory and accusatory in order to take more than what they originally monetarily charged.Natera, Inc.

Did the Natera Panorama test recently as I believed it was the only **** offered by my provider's office. Received a result that was presented by their "virtual assistant" as high risk "for fetal DNA fraction" and she noted: your baby MAY have triploidy, Trisomy 18 or Trisomy 13- only to uncover I had low fetal fraction at 2.4% (high BMI & tested early ((before 11 weeks)) and my baby's DNA was never even analyzed! They created a statistic algorithmic calculation (FBBR) for risk based on the fact low fetal fraction can sometimes (but not usually) point to a chromosomal abnormality & so they can produce a "result" and still bill patients even though the fetal DNA was insufficient to ever analyze. There are HUNDREDS of similar stories where moms and families are made to worry only to have no risks found through further testing or other labs/companies. This corrupt organization should not be allowed to be in business. I will not be paying the bill and will scream from every mountaintop how terrible Natera is.Natera, Inc.

I was told by my doctor that I wouldnt have to pay more than $250 for my prenatal genetic testing. I got a bill in the mail for $645 saying my insurance didnt cover any of the test but my insurance actually paid out $3255 to them. I called and asked for them to honor the price my doctors office quoted and they wouldnt. I wouldnt have done the testing if I knew Id have to pay nearly $400 more than what I was told. I will be telling my doctors office about this experience in hope that they stop using this service for their patients as Ive seen stories of so many others experiencing the same. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND Natera.Natera, Inc.
