Accreditation Revocation
On 12/20/2024 this business's accreditation in the BBB was revoked by the BBB's Board of Directors due to failure by the business to adhere to the BBB requirement that Accredited Businesses meet and abide by the following standards:
1. Establish and maintain a positive track record in the marketplace.
1D. Maintain at least a B rating in all company-owned locations and its headquarters.
2. Follow established legal and ethical advertising and selling practices, including, but not limited to, the BBB Code of Advertising.
2A. Work with BBB and agree to modify, substantiate or discontinue advertising and selling practices when recommended.
3. Honestly represent products and services, including clear and prominent disclosures of all material terms.
Be clear in all written and verbal representations and include all relevant facts in all transactions.
4. Openly identify the nature, location, and ownership of the business, and clearly and prominently disclose all material facts that bear on a customer’s decision to buy.
4B. Clearly and prominently provide to customers:
- direct and effective means to contact the business
- the business’ return/refund policy
- any recurring commitment into which the customer may be entering, including automatic renewals, payments or other financial commitments.
- total cost of the transaction, including tax, shipping and handling, and other related charges prior to completion of the transaction
- any known delays or shortages of stock
- a receipt summarizing the transaction after the purchase
6. Address disputes forwarded by BBB quickly and in good faith.
6A. Provide a response to each complaint that:
- Is professional,
- addresses all significant issues raised by the complainant,
- includes appropriate evidence and documents supporting the business' position, and
- explains why any relief sought by the complainant cannot or should not be granted.
6B. Participate in mediation, arbitration or other dispute resolution services as requested by BBB.
6C. Honor any settlements, agreements or decisions reached as an outcome of a dispute resolution process.
6D. Cooperate with BBB in efforts to eliminate the underlying cause of patterns of customer complaints that are identified by BBB.
8. Approach all business dealings, marketplace transactions and commitments with integrity, good faith and intent to do what is reasonably expected. Avoid involvement, by the business or its principals, in activities that reflect unfavorably on or otherwise adversely affect the public image of BBB or its accredited businesses.
Pattern of Complaints
BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning sales practice, contract, service, and cancellation issues. Specifically, White Knight Pest Control’s pattern of complaints includes consumers’ alleging incomplete or failure to provide services at their scheduled appointments, consumers alleging their pest control treatments did not effectively work, misleading sales practices including allegations of high-pressure sales tactics, consumers believing they were signing something other than a one-year contract, and consumers alleging they were sold on a no obligation contract and were later informed they signed a 12-month contract. Consumers also alleged they did not sign a contract but were contracted into White Knights services. Consumers also alleged difficulties canceling White Knight’s services. Consumers alleged misunderstanding the cancellation policy and being charged within the 3-day cancellation period.
On October 25, 2024, BBB submitted a written request to White Knight Pest Control encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints.
On October 29, 2024, White Knight Pest Control responded their business doubled in size over the past 6 months including their total services completed and new customers sold.
White Knight Pest Control responded they implemented a welcome call to customers, so they understand the sale. They created a new technician app to review re-service percentages and other metrics to improve their performance and motivation.
White Knight Pest Control also adjusted its retention policy to be more lenient allowing customers to get out of their contracts more easily. They have implemented allowing customers who were on autopay to be taken off of autopay for their final payment if it is a cancellation fee.
Although White Knight Pest Control responded to BBB’s request to address its pattern of complaints BBB continues to have concerns regarding the pattern of complaints.

BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.
On May 31, 2024, BBB contacted the business regarding advertisements on their website https://www.whiteknightpest.com/ White Knight Pest Control advertises consumer testimonials. BBB Code of Advertising states in general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser. If a consumer's experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service, unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be.
BBB requested White Knight Pest Control to substantiate that the testimonials on their website were genuine from customers. White Knight Pest Control provided copies of testimonials to BBB.
BBB also requested White Knight Pest Control to substantiate its membership with the Texas Pest Control Association. As of June 28, 2024, White Knight Pest Control discontinued the advertisement.

On October 11, 2024, BBB contacted White Knight Pest Control regarding their advertised rating. Specifically, on their about us page https://www.whiteknightpest.com/about-us/ White Knight Pest Control advertised “We are a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business, where we have an A+ Rating.”
BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
At the time of the advertised claim White Knight Pest Control was BBB accredited but did not advertise the correct rating. BBB requested White Knight Pest Control to modify their website to the accurate rating or discontinue the incorrect rating. As of October 30, 2024, White Knight Pest Control failed to modify their website with the correct rating.
