Brinks Home is using subsidiary security sales and installation Companies (i.e. Skyline Security *************** in *********) to prey on Elder residents in the ******** ******* 88 year old mother-in-law with dimentia and living on a fixed income ($1400/mo) was coerced into signing a 5 year contract with Brinks Home that will total to $3,000. She does not know/remember thar she has a security system, or how it works or how to operate it (doesn't use it). When Brinks was called to cancel the service that she doesn't use/understand, they stated the termination fee would be $1384.53 (remainder of 5 year contract). This is ridiculous, and is considered a form of financial Elder abuse. Brinks and Skyline Security ************** have been reported to Adult Protective Services (APS) and the Contractor State Licensing Board (CSLB).The state and local governments should do something about companies like Brinks and Skyline Security Management using predatory practice against the vulnerable elderly in our community.Until then, children/grandchildren should talk with their elderly parents/grandparents about signing contacts or financial decisions that they may not understand all the ramifications of.Just note thar the contract my mother in law signed was 29 pages long which was shown to her on an iPad that I am positive she didn't understand.

ended up with Brinks under false pretenses. People arrived at door, saying they could help lower my telephone/cable bill. I KNOW I KNOW BETTER! but I listened to them, and their plan would give all the discounts I wanted and lower my bill. Plus, I would get a new security system from Brinks. They, were in no way, connected to my cable company, but a third party broker. I committed, and knew I would touch bases with cable company. They knew nothing about this, did not get any discounts going through to my acct, but changes were made, not by me, that would have increased my bill. This broker never provided me with said contract, Can cx Brinks to the small amount of over $3000. Everything was done their way which left me with no idea of what I was really committing to. This is my first "shouldn't have done it" and I am MADDD! Brinks is a terrible company, and reviews should prove that.

Complaints about the Brinks Home Security System for overcharging, not providing a prompt response, taking excessive time to solve the issue, and showing a lack of courtesy in contacting the customer.1. I complained about the issue of alarming the security system unnecessarily.2. I received the troubleshooting appointment approximately 3 months after the appointment.3. The technician showed up as scheduled on May 20th but couldn't resolve the problem completely.4. I had to make another effort to make the second complaint and was promised that someone would get back to me within 2 to 3 business days, but it never happened.5. Again, after several attempts, the problem was solved remotely. Subsequently, I received an invoice for $ ****** as a trip charge. 6. I have paid $120 for nothing just for showing up, and the problem was solved remotely later after several phone call attempts, where I don't have to pay for remote repairs.7. The Brinks just sent a technician claiming that I requested and was not given the remote repair option at first, which is free. Conclusion:Very poor service. Neglecting the customer and unnecessary charges

In April 2025, I ordered new smoke detectors from Brinks and started paying a monthly Home Warranty plan that would include free equipment and lower price for technicians. The detectors were different models than what we have and so we needed a technician to install them. For 2 months, I was told a technician would schedule an appointment but they never did. I was calling Brinks 2 times a week to explain the situation but kept being told they would schedule an appointment. Finally in June, I returned the equipment and requested to cancel the home warranty plan. I wanted to break the monitoring contract since they are unable to find in-person technicians but was told I would have to pay for the entire amount of the contract. Now I am stuck with expired smoke detectors and old equipment that they are unable to service for the next 2.5 years.

Brinks Home is a terrible company if I could leave a negative star I would. I am 82 years old and want to end my business with Brinks because I have not been able to get additional services I requested. These include an internet doorbell (such as Ring), and an automatic door lock. I have had many, many phone calls with the company ***** but to no avail. I was told I would be sent the parts and their installer would come to my house to do the job. I have been advised to call the installer and the problem would be solved. I saw the installer once. He had not been sent the appropriate parts. Since then, the installer is not available by phone either by me, or by Brinks. This has been going on for months, with no resolution. They have, however increased my monthly fees as well as increased the number of months on my contract, all without providing the requested service. Several months ago, I spoke to their installer (who did not have the necessary parts for installation), he told me his company was very unhappy with Brinks and were considering dropping them.I was told by another provider that as an older adult, I could request a close of service with no penalty; however, Brinks advised me that I would have to pay the remainder of the contract. This company is a total rip off.

They are literally getting away with scaming people we have been dealing with them for over a year. They claim we are in a contract with them that was supposedly extended from our prior provider that they bought out, we couldnt cancel the contract due to Brinks claiming we extended our previous contract just by supposedly clicking on an email that they sent. They cannot provide this contract to us. They want us to pay them to get out of this contract that doesnt exist weve turned it into the BBB. Weve turned it into the attorney general. The attorney general is now coming back saying we have to hire a lawyer to do anything about it. It is hurting our credit score they are literally bribing through your credit to pay them to take it off

I called to cancelled my account with ********************** over a month ago. After going through numerous hoops to cancel, I was still charged for an additional six weeks of service after I had already cancelled. I was billed for that unwanted service, and then told if I didn't pay it I would get dinged on my credit report. This is absolutely fraudulent business practices.

Brinks is the worst security company on the planet. They tricked me into signing an extended contract, made it extremely hard to get out of the contract and pilfered over $600.00 from me for while I received ZERO service. They misconstrue the length of the contract, offer deals to sign a new contract, then add your existing contract months to the new contract...you could literally be on the hook for up to a five year sevice agreement with this company. STAY AWAY!

My mother just recently was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I'm trying to get some of her affairs in order. One of which is addressing accounts - like the ******************** service (which has never been used b/c my mother didn't know the security code). I wanted to cancel the service as we prepare for the next steps of care for my mother. Brinks would not cancel the service b/c they auto-renewed her contractor 36 months in March. The said that my mother would have to pay the remainder of the contactor out. I figured it would be a 30 60, or 90 day notice maybe - but nope. They quoted the remainder of the account - like $1400. How calloused is this? Talk about taking advantage of the elderly. This is absurd.
