      I had my alarm service more than 18 years and always paid on time. Due to health reasons, I am going to have to relocate, and I called the alarm company to discontinue my services. I was told when it was installed, I could cancel after my written 2-year contract was over. I have spent around 2 hours on the phone with at least 4 or more people trying to get this cancelled. I was told I had a five-year contract and couldn't cancel. I am not aware of any contract that I signed. I had covid and it has left me disabled and can no longer take care of or manage my affairs. Today I received a bill for $1082.69 payable by the 29th to cancel. I am 75 and not sure what to do. I am not going to try and sell the service to whomever purchases my home. I was originally told that I could cancel any time after my 2-year contract was over.Not sure what to do but I will not be paying, because I do not owe this money.I DO NOT have a contract with this company. My attorney will be my next step for me in handling this situation. I told the last lady I spoke with that I would not be paying.After more than *************************************************************************************** mental anguish, which makes my health situation even worse.I guess loyal customer service doesn't matter to this company.

      Poor equipment quality, system failures, no maintenance after service- all at a fee. And if you have them out to service equipment it will renew your contract in the fine print apparently- I have asked for a copy of this information and they have not provided it. The entire system was taken out and not a single alarm or notification went out. Tells you how terrible the system is. Total waste of 60/ mo. Also canceling it is difficult- they are claiming I have 7mo left even though I have had the system for 5+ years. Shocked.

      Today I was to get installation of a camera, doorbell, panel. The installer came and said he did not have wiring for the camera or doorbell. He said he could come back. I informed him it needs to be installed i can't take off another day and was to log on to a meeting that I had to miss. I asked him to run a wire whuch he spliced through the ceiling in the attic to the bedroom as there are already areas where Guardian did so [20 yrs ago. I showed him exactly where the old camera was ( mount still there). Put the camera there to cover the side pointing towards the front. Instead he put the camera at the front pointing towards the ground. He refused to to instalk the doorbell. I have an old doorbell, he didnt have wiring, then i have to find the electrical outlet. I never seen a person run around doing nothing because he couldnt just plug it in. He did not attempt the doorbell, check to see the wiring, told me I'm better off getting another ring. So he left, would not re install the camera where I asked, I called Brinks I spoke with customer service **** was very nice but after explaining he said I have to talk with IT, I stated. Transfer disconnected. I called back spoke with an IT call service *** from the ********* to restate needs. before I could talk to IT. She asked for pictures, I sent pic of camera brinks installed, picture of mount where I installed a home camera, where I wanted it, Then she said Your ticket is showing a camera only not the doorbell. I explained you are seeing what the man did today in the ticket, not my order. I had to send her a picture of my order. Then she wanted a picture of my doorbell, she was not understanding that my doorbell [wired] from the 50s does not light up like a ring camera. After over 5 hours, she gave me a date weeks away! phone disconnected 3 times! He refused to move the camera where I wanted it or try to do his job, why? 8:30 until 1:35 of Brinks, what horrible customer service/ service.

      I would avoid Brinks at any costs, they are not an ethical company to deal with, especially with some many other home security companies out there. I originally purchased my equipment from ********* and used another provider for monitoring, well Brinks bought them, attempt to switch to another provider and Brinks also bought them. Stuck with Brinks for a couple of years and was fed up with the pricing increases and equipment breaking (had life time guarantee on equipment, not honored with Brinks, forced new contract or huge uplift in monthly fee). I am now going through the cancel service nightmare with them as they continue to charge me additional fee's as well a two more months of service (say it takes 30 days to cancel). Again avoid Brinks at any and all costs.

      If a zero-star-rating was possible, I'd choose that for Brinks. I have been a customer of ********************** since they bought Moni Smart Security (a.k.a. Monitronics) in *********. (I had been a Monitronics customer since 2008, just FYI.)When I moved from that home to a rental in 2023 and wanted to take my security system with me, Brinks informed me that in order to do that, I would need to purchase new equipment because the existing equipment was "out of date" since it was purchased through Monitronics in 2008. Come to find out that they made this "purchase" a 5-year contract. So when my wife and I purchased a home earlier this year (2025, 2 years later) and requested to move the system again, I was told by Brinks a similar story: I could either purchase new equipment; OR I could use my "old" (2-years old, mind you) and extend my contract out an additional 2 more years on top of the remaining 3 years I was still under - meaning I'd be stuck with them a total of 5 more years. The 3rd option I was given was if I wanted to cancel my service contract with them altogether, I'd have to buy it out at a significant price - $********** I'm stuck with forking over the $1296.35 be beholden to them for 5 years. I feel this is a shady way of doing business with long-term customers, locking them in a contract in such a way that there is not way for a disgruntle customer to walk away without paying their set price.

      If we could leave a negative star it would be here. A customer for 21 years and cancelled service as of a specific date. All bills for my service were paid up and even cancelled service before my next billing cycle. I ended up getting another bill from them and they claimed it was my closing bill that it takes them 30 days to close it on their end. Not my fault. They claimed its how their business runs. Never use these people. Service during this time was horrible. Wish I would have canceled along time ago. Their equipment is junk also. Always had issues with it. Use another company other than brinks.

      I moved and tried to relocate my system and have emails telling me it would be free: The tech at the new house insisted on charging me $760 for a "new" panel, identical to the panel I brought with me; I get daily system error messages from the old house and cannot log in to that account since it's been closed; and, I have been on hold, chat and email support with ZERO luck and even ******* their president with ZERO response. These folks are awful!

      Absolute SCAM! If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The salesperson lied to me as a first time home buyer at only 20 years old and now I am stuck paying $70 a month for like 7 years. **************** SUCKS!!! TERRIBLE.

      NEGATIVE-star March 2024-March 2025 back and forth with issues on the alarm not being detected on the Brinks side yet so loud we had to remove the battery. Being persuaded to purchase insurance and renew a contract because it was over ***** to break the contract. This is sad case for anyone who works for Brinks. They are stealing from customers daily.

      This is the worst company ever every single time I call them or try and get some equipment fixed. It adds five months to a year onto your contract after you pay a deductible. I think that this is ridiculous. I previously had service with another company which brings brought out my two year has turned into almost 6 years when I call customer service. The representative was rude. Told me nothing in this world is free. I felt that that was wrong and they want me to pay $600 to get out of my contract they are a rip off. I would not recommend this to anybody because they do lie and say one thing and then they dont follow up
