I had an accident March of 2023. The insurance at the time of the accident said they would cover the fixes of the car. And because I could not get my license to get rental, I had not fixed it. Thus, last month they said I could take to get it repaired and I chose Discount Auto Part to get it fixed. As soon, as I told them my situation, they were supportive. I told them that since I cant get my license in the new state that I moved into without registering ( and passing the inspection, which I cant since my car is not in good physical condition) my car under *****, I cant get a rental car while getting mine fixed - that I can only go a few weeks without out. The head mechanic told me that he could fix my car in a total of four days. After getting in contact with the insurance on August 14th, 2023, they gave me the check to give to the auto shop and endorse it to them. After that, the head mechanic told me that, that now that he has the money. After endorsing the check, he went silent. He would not respond to my messages or to my calls asking when I could take in to plan it ahead. And every time he would cite me a day to take it in, he would then cancel. After trying to get him to contact me, he told me he could now accept it 9 days ago. I took it last Saturday and told me it would be ready in 4 days. I have tried to contact him ever since those 4 days passed, urging him to keep me updated as I need the car to get fixed quickly- and no respond. He then told me it would be ready today Tuesday, Sep. 16, 2024. I went in today and they told my son it would be ready later on, and I had to insisnt on seeing the car as I believed he had not done a single thing to it, and I was correct, he had not touched it - not a single thing was fixed as he had promised. Before telling me to pick it up, he had lied about the car having a problem which was why he couldnt fix it but now that I have the car - it still is in the condition I had turned it in to him.Business Response

Vehicle brought to us she could not do it in a timely manner because she could not get a car to drive in order to deliver we offered one but she said no because she needed to take it to ******. We said could help her with rental and that Mede her upset because she didnt have a drivers license in us. Delivered and every part that was ordered got to shop but the truck working with the adjuster with progressive we tried to get one in a timely matter but not available since insurance will not pay a new one. This was only 8 working days since vehicle in the shop. We let customer know about this problem and she did nothing but get upset and I called insurance adjuster name is ***** had him in the phone and asking him if he could explain that the truck was not available as of yet he was, I told her he was in the phone when she was in front of me and she said ( I am going to speak to that m********) everything the insurance adjuster heard since he was on speaker. She said she wanted the car as it was and we advise her that we had to call the law since she was making a big problem yelling and insulting clients and employees. As of right now we have a report working with the *** because of theft of service because she went to the back of shop and retrieve vehicle without permission we have cameras in the shop and everything she said made and when she trespass and retrieve vehicle is on camera also when she was insulting customers and so. We can provide all videos if needed. All parts bought with money from insurance we are working with progressive to see what the next step will be since they paid for them not the customer. She had no money out of pocket given to shop but insurance only.Initial Complaint

I took my car in for an oil change and inspection three months ago. The oil change was never done but spent $1000 on repairs to the vehicle which I was told were needed to pass inspection. After the repairs were done the business told me that the inspection was done and passed. I tried to order my registration sticker and was told that the inspection was not in the system. Over he last 3 months I have taken the car back 4 times and have been told the issue had been resolved. It has not. And now they will not return my phone calls or messages. I am at risk for getting a citation, which I cannot afford seeing how I've already paid for all the repairs, an oil change that was never done, a car door that was never fixed, along with the inspection that seems to have never been done.Business Response

We did a job on vehicle and took the car for inspection next door and somehow someway did not read system correctly and did not pass we do it do inspection was more like a favor than a service. She brought to us and did a master reset after some time dealing with inspection station and took to another station to reduce and it passed. During this time we lend a vehicle for the day to customer and fix handle free of charge she and we were happy after it. Attached is the conversation in text. We can help best as we can even if we dont do the work ourselves but sometimes a third party can take longer than expectedCustomer Answer

On June 21 I paid the owner of the shop $380.00 for the order of a part called a latch. The problem was that the trunk door would not open. On June 29 they received the part and installed it, I paid an additional $120.00 for labor. They told me the car was ready but that I needed to drive it 30 miles so that it could configure itself. I drove the car more than 30 miles and tried to open the trunk, but it would not open. I took the car back on July 8 sand they ordered a switch which is attached to the latch. On July 18 the received the part but they informed me that it was the wrong part. That another part was ordered by overnight mail. On Saturday July ******************************************** to drive the car again so that it would configure itself. On Sunday July 21 I tried opening the trunk and it would not open. I decide to goggle the problem with the trunk. This is a trunk that only opens with remote. It explained how to find trunk problems. In my case it said that it could be a button in the club comportment. That the button could turned off. That is just what it was, the button was turned to off. It is a coincidence that they were the last ones to go into the club compartment and change an air filter. They change the cabin filter on June 19, 2024. They are the ones that moved the button either by accident or on purpose. Either way they gave me a bunch of mumble jumbo that it was a broken part. They are the mechanics they never fixed my car. On Monday July 22, I went back to the shop and spoke to the owner whose name is *****. I told him that the switch did not work but that I found out what the problem was just by googling the problem. The owner said he was going to talk to the mechanic that diagnosed the problem and had decided that it was the latch. That he was going to test the old latch to see if it was defective. He asked for my phone number and said I will get back to you. Don't call us well call you.Business Response

The vehicle came in and the truck latch did not work tested directly with positive and negative and did not respond. Ordered the part and took a week to get to *******. Came and installed. Since we did not have the snap on scanner and was on service told him to come back after certain mileage of vehicle that takes to loop the computer after service. Since the manual reset did not get since the battery was disconnected to get latch done. He did the manual reset and worked for him. Does not mean that the original part was working before we double checked old part again and did not work.Initial Complaint

I paid the owner ********************************* in the amount of $1600.00 for some body work to be done on my *********************** November of 2022 when I picked up my car not all of the work that I paid for had been completed. The hood latch wasnt even connected, the right front fender was supposed to be replaced and was not still has a few small dents and nicks in paint, the front grill was to be replaced it has theee separate pieces and the center one Ill poke as if it were purchased out if a junk yard and is painted a black matte finish, the two small pieces on each side look new however they are painted a black gloss so they do not match, the plastic panel which I already paid for that goes up under the engine/chassis was never replaced nor was mere the plastic panels that go around the front wheel *****. The hood doesnt shut right and is not lined up properly either. I have spoken to the owner ********************************* on several occasions where he has stated he would come pick up my car and fix the issues personally however he never shows up. I have now not been able to get him to answer his cellphone in over one month and he is never at the shop and his works just say to come back *** after 10:00 am which again he is never there.Business Response

Customer paid an amount to replace bumper and brakets on vehicle and paint in the original receipt payed it stated the parts and job that needed to be done. Took couple of days more (from 4 to 7 days due to parts ******** took longer. All parts to be replaced are stated in original receipt except three plastic undercarriage units that were order but were not in time of assembly. All parts were replaced and painted. When vehicle was ready customer was called and she showed for car and demanded to be brought immediately and manager stated that he was attending one customer before and she did not like this. Started cursing at management and a customer. This is not first time she has done this, she belittle staff crew and told them that they were Mexican and needed to go back to their country if they were speaking Spanish. We have witnesses (customers) and affected employees witnesses also. I did not know of this and talk to her on the phone since I was not there when she picked up car. I went to her house to see the vehicle since she stated there was a sound coming from the drivers wheel. Took to shop personally and inspected the vehicle and found it to need a bearing not included on body repair but was a mechanic repair during this time I learned of the actions of customer to employees and client. Fixed free of charge driver side bearing and took back to house to de escalate the situation . She wanted the bottom covers changed also I mention to her they weee ordered. I follow up since I received the panels, all that was paid was done except this also we did not charged the bearing that cost around 350. She did not mention to complaint here that she bounced original check for payment of service and will not go to shop because of the statements and racist remarks she made to people there. The pets are at the shop and been at the shop. She has not came in and demands that I pick up vehicle at house and deliver. She is welcome to make an appointment and we can install other then that she can get money back for panels since we can return them. I do not aprciate anybody making remarks like that to anybody specially my staff and employees.
