I first took my car to the mechanic over a month ago because of a weird noise coming from my engine. The mechanic did their testing and said it was a blowm head gasket they reached out to Warrantech and they sent out 2 inspectors who agreed with the shops findings they said the car overheated and blew a head gasket the mechanics suggestion and both inspectors suggestions were to replace the engine. Warrantech then denied the claim because my car had mods on it but I bought the car like that and they warrantied my car with those mods on it they then had me get the initial inspection from the dealership showing that it had mods on it to prove that the mods were on there and submit an oil change history which i was really good about keeping maintenance on my car so i submitted those documents they then reached out to the mechanic and asked them to tear down the engine to find the point of failure the mechanic denied to do that they stated it was a waste of time because it needed a new engine. Warrantech then told them it was my fault the car overheated and i drove it into the shop instead of getting it towed and that they wpuld be denying the claim again based off of that. I wasnt experiencing any over heating at the time i drove it to the mechanics shop to have them see what the problem was. I paid for their ultimate coverage and since they already got the majority of their money they decided to s**** me over and breach my warranty with them. I am the victim here all i wanted them to do was uphold their end our the warranty agreement and they screwed me over. I will be filing a lawsuit against Warrantech for breach of contract.Warrantech Corporation

Dear Mr. ********************************************************************************************************* This is response to your Better Business Bureau complaint regarding the recent engine claim. We thank you for your patience while this matter was under review.
On June 9, 2025, we called you and could not leave you a message because the mailbox was full. On June 10 and 11, 2025, we sent an email to you explaining the timeline of the claim and terms and conditions of the vehicle service contract. We advised if you feel that the repair facility is not diagnosing your vehicle concern correctly it is your option to move the vehicle to another facility.
Please note that vehicle service contract ( VSC) is a contract and not an insurance policy, warranty, or guarantee. Warrantech Automotive **** (WAI) administers the terms and provisions of the **** It is WAI s role is to determine whether a breakdown qualifies for coverage under the terms and conditions of the ***. The *** provides assistance in covering parts and labor costs in the event of a covered breakdown of a covered part that has failed under normal service and can no longer perform its function, as long as there are no exclusions that apply. This determination is based on the cause of the failure reported by the repair facility; and at time, verified by an independent inspection agency.
We reviewed the recent engine claim and determined that the claim was adjudicated within the terms and conditions of the **** On May 1, 2025, ***** Auto reported that the vehicle was driven in with an engine knocking noise. ***** Auto recommended replacing the engine. We had an independent inspection agency document the repair facilities findings. The independent inspection agency advised that the vehicle had been modified but no cause of failure was documented. You advised that the modifications made to the vehicle were done prior to purchase. In *******, the *** excludes vehicles that have been modified after purchase. We contacted the selling dealer; ********** Buick and ***, and requested a copy of the predelivery inspection report. On May *******, we received the predelivery inspection report and verified that the modification to the vehicle were done prior to purchase. We proceed to the next step of the claim process. We contacted Ooroo Auto and advised them to get your authorization for teardown the engine to verify the cause of failure and extent of damage. ********** advised that the engine had been massively overheated. On June 6, 2025, ********** stated that the engine had been extremely overheated, and they will not teardown the engine to verify the cause of failure and extent of damage.
Since the repair facility stated that they will not teardown the engine to verify the cause of failure and extent of damage and that the engine was extremely overheated, we adjudicated the claim using the limited information provided by the repair facility. The repair facility stated that the engine needed to be replaced due to being extremely overheated and that the vehicle was driven in with a known engine noise the claim is denied for continued operation of the vehicle in an extremely overheated state. This type of failure does not meet the definition of a breakdown.
The VSC states:
Definitions
Breakdown Means the failure of a covered part under normal service. A covered part has failed when it can no longer perform the function for which it was designed solely because of its condition and not because of the action or inaction of any non-covered parts.
How to File a Claim
A. If the vehicle incurs a breakdown, you should take the following steps:
1. Prevent Further Damage Take immediate action to prevent further damage. This Contract will not cover the damage caused by not securing a repair within a reasonable amount of time when a Breakdown has occurred. The operator is responsible for observing Vehicle warning lights and gauges, and taking appropriate action immediately. Failure to do so may result in the denial of Coverage.
Exclusion
This vehicle service contract provides no coverage or benefits:
D. For any Breakdown caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, lack of normal maintenance required by the manufacturers maintenance schedule for Your Vehicle, or improper servicing or repairs subsequent to purchase. For any Breakdown caused by sludge build-up resulting from Your failure to perform recommended maintenance services, or failure to maintain proper levels of lubricants and/or coolants, or Breakdowns caused by fuels containing more than 10% Ethanol (if the engine was not manufactured for this fuel mixture), or failure to protect Your Vehicle from further damage when a Breakdown has occurred or failure to have Your Vehicle towed to the service facility when continued operation may result in further damage. Continued operation includes Your failure to observe warning lights, gauges, or any other signs of overheating or component failure, such as fluid leakage, slipping, knocking, or smoking, and not protecting Your Vehicle by continuing to drive creating damage beyond the initial failure. (Emphasis added)
We apologize for any frustration or delay that you may have experienced. Unfortunately,*** will not be able to assist with the engine claim due to the repair facilities statement that the engine needs to be replaced because it was extremely overheated, and the vehicle was driven in with an engine knocking noise. If you disagree with the denial of the claim, you will need to speak to the repair facility to see what diagnosis or teardown is needed to verify cause of failure and extent of damage. You also have the option of moving the vehicle to another repair facility if you feel that the current repair facility is not diagnosing the vehicle concern correctly. If new information is provided, we can rereview the claim at that time.
Best regards,

Chronic, Unresolved Failure and lack of compliance with contractual guaranty for utility replacement. Purchased a ** refrigerator and 4 year refrigerator guaranty. From day one, the ice-maker freezes never worked correctly blocking both the ice chute and the water dispenser. Despite multiple repeated repairs, the unit still fails to deliver ice or water reliably .. Once I disconnect the unit for everything to defrost, my entire kitchen becomes a mess- I simply dont have the time to be losing days of work so continuously and keep waiting on technicians to repair something that simply doesnt work. Over 4 visits on fridge without improvement..2. Breach of 4-Year Guarantee.. Your contract is crystal-clear: unlimited parts and repair as step 1 and by now *** had an army of technicians ..at the point I stated this refrigerator simply needs to be exchanged, the representative told me that it was simply not part of my plan. On 05/29/25, a Warrantech agent flatly stated my policy only covers repairs. This contradicts the written contract reviewed with ********************* the same day. The company is deliberately misrepresenting coverage to avoid the replacement obligation.Once I went to Brandsmart to request explanations they showed me that within my plan shows exchanges are covered is like the company prohibits this option from existence and the Replacement of the appliance if defect persists- Wrongfully denied. I called multiple times and I was not connected with a supervisor. By refusing to authorize Step 2 after more than four service calls, Warrantech is in material breach of its own guarantee.Warrantech Corporation

Dear *** *******,
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your service experience with Warrantech Corporation. We sincerely regret the frustration and inconvenience this ongoing issue with your refrigerator has caused you, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your complaint.
We understand how disruptive it can be to experience repeated service issues, especially with a critical household appliance. After reviewing your file, we want to clarify a few important points and offer the most accurate resolution path available under the terms of your coverage.
Our records indicate that while you have had multiple service visits related to the refrigerator, only one repair was coordinated through your extended service contract with Warrantech. It appears earlier service calls may have been performed under the manufacturers original warranty. As outlined in your service plan, eligibility for a replacement is determined based on repair history documented through the plan provider.
Your frustration over the conflicting information regarding the potential for replacement is understandable. While your plan does include provisions for replacement, it is contingent on specific criterianamely, that multiple qualifying repairs have been completed under the extended warranty plan itself. At this time, that threshold has not been met according to our records.
That said, your concerns are valid, and we want to assist in moving this forward appropriately. We have reassigned the service to a new provider, **, to ensure a thorough assessment and improved follow-up. You should be hearing from them shortly to schedule the next step. Additionally, *** provided my direct contact information so we can remain in close communication.
We remain committed to honoring the terms and conditions of your coverage and want to work with you toward a resolution. Please dont hesitate to reach out directly should you need further assistance or have any additional documentation youd like to provide.Review fromJoycelyn G

The poorest service I have ever received, and the most dishonest practice witnessed. I bought a "junky" refrigerator from, BrandsMart and soon after, the refrigerator broke down. It took a while for a service personnel to fix the diagnose and fix the problem. Ultimately they realized that it was a piece of junk, and provided store credit. All my food items spoiled. Warrantech requested receipts for about $700 worth of food, which the technicians were able to confirm. They gave me a refund of a measly $128 for the food loss. They didn't consider the inconveniences cause, ranging from the hours of phone calls, runaround, and taking time off from work to accommodate their technician. With the store credit, I was forced to take another refrigerator from BrandsMart after 3 attempts (all dented). The current one freezes everything in the refrigerator. Still trying to resolve this issue for a year now. Worst service ever! Where is the resolution?Warrantech Corporation

Dear Ms. ************************* you for sharing your experience. Were truly sorry to hear about the challenges youve faced and understand how frustrating and disruptive this situation has been from the initial product failure to the inconvenience of multiple service visits, food loss, and replacement issues. Your time and the impact on your day-to-day life are absolutely valid concerns.
After reviewing your claim and the Terms and Conditions of your service contract, we want to clarify that your coverage includes a limited food spoilage benefit. The reimbursement of $128 that was issued represents the maximum allowable under your specific plan. While we recognize that your documented loss was greater, we are obligated to follow the coverage limits stated in the agreement.
Additionally, per the contract, Warrantech is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages, including inconvenience, missed work, or replacement product dissatisfaction. As you did not purchase an extended warranty directly through Warrantech, but rather through the retailer, any further concerns related to the performance or condition of your replacement appliance including the ongoing issues with your current refrigerator must be addressed directly with BrandsMart, the point of sale for your unit and service coverage.
We sincerely empathize with your experience and appreciate your feedback. We hope BrandsMart can assist in providing a resolution that meets your expectations.Sincerely,

The most useless company I have ever dealt with they do not care about their customers you have agents who follow and read and repeat the same story to you you can never have a supervisor to speak to to deal with and empathize with you and work out something I am dealing with a replacement of my washer . They gave me an option which is the same model number that I have same company but it's in white which will not match my dryer so I suggested the store has that same model in a color closer to my dryer and they do not seem to care about it why do you have protection agreements when they are useless. A supervisor is supposed to call me within 48 hours so they say. If this issue is not resolved there will be another review about how ********** is a useless company.Warrantech Corporation

Dear Mr. *********************************************************************************************************** received the below Better Business Bureau Customer Review. We thank you for your patience while this matter was under review.
We reviewed your claim file, it was determined that the *** claim was adjudicated within the terms and conditions of the *** waiver. It was determined that there was not a Deficiency; see definition below from the *** Waiver, owed after the waiver was calculated by using the information Mr.****** *************** It was determined that the insurance check is more than the amortize balance. The outstanding balance as of the date of loss is an amortize balance. See the definition below for outstanding balance from the *** waiver.
According to the payment history, there is a missed payment and School ************************** added several loan add-ons to the loan. The *** waiver excludes any amounts added to the loan and does not allow for missed payments.
The *** Waiver states:
Limitations and Terms
AMOUNTS NOT COVERED The Deficiency shall not include any of the following: .
(2) amounts added to the loan/ Financial Agreement after the purchase of the Motor Vehicle such as,prepaid finance charges, acquisition fees, unearned or future finance charges, rental charges, taxes, Delinquent Payments, past due amounts, late charges and extension of maturity.(Emphasis added)
Definitions
Deficiency means the amount of debt waived, which shall be the difference between the Outstanding Balance as of the Date of Loss and the Actual Cash Value subject to the limitations, exclusions, terms and conditions in this Waiver.
Financial Agreement means the document(s) which this Waiver amends and becomes a part of, evidencing Your purchase or refinancing of the Motor Vehicle
Outstanding Balance means the amount in U.S. currency as of the Date of Loss required to pay the Financial Agreement balance per the terms of the Financial Agreement as it existed on the Financial Agreement date listed on the first page of this Waiver. If the first
payment is not scheduled and made within the first 45 days, or Deferred Payment Financing exists, then the Outstanding Balance means the calculated balance as of the Date of Loss based upon the presumption of equal monthly payments beginning 45 days after the date of the Financial Agreement amortized over no more than 96 months.
OwnerGuard will not be able to assist with your remaining loan balance due to insurance check is more than the outstanding loan balance due to missed payment and the lender adding to the loan balance.

Today is October 22nd, 2024. I started a claim in August 31st, 2024. One would think I would have had my washing machine up and running by now, I have called the ************** and the Warranty Center (Warrantech) several times between then and now with no luck other than the Service personnel coming to my home, evaluating the issue and sending a parts list to the warranty center. They only sent 3 of the 5 parts needed to due the repair. I have 6 people living our homes and we need laundry washed on a daily basis. I paid for an extended warranty to have a peace of mind. They need to make this right.Warrantech Corporation

One star is far too generous for this sham of a company. I have been trying to get my hottub control panel replaced since February. The service company Warrantech outsources to is Hometown Hottub. They are completely inept and have no idea how to fix a hot tub. They have been out to my house twice, but have been unable to fix the problem. I had another professional hot tub repair guy come to look at it today. He said that they put in the completely wrong control system. I'm not sure who is worse, Hometown Hottub or Warrantech. They are both extremely unprofessional. Warrantech is insisting that I must wait for the parts to come (again and we've been waiting for these parts for a month) so that Hometown Hot tub can try to fix the tub before they will even consider switching me to a different service provider. What a joke?!?!!? This will never be fixed through this fraud of a warranty. I will have to pay $1,000 out of my pocket if I want to get the tub fixed correctly. ******* should also be ashamed that they affiliate with the likes of Warrantech. If you can't honor a warranty and fix the problems in a timely manner, then you are not a legitimate warranty company--you are a SCAM!! After my experience and reading these reviews online, I will NEVER EVER purchase an extended warranty through Warrantech. I'd be better off flushing my money down the toilet.Warrantech Corporation

I purchased a Bowflex treadmill T10 and paid extra for an extended warranty through Warrantech. I had several issues with this particular T10 but the final issue was the screen monitor would not power on. I called in a claim with warrantech and they said the monitor would have to be replaced. I waited over a month with no word to finally find out (after calling them several times) that they discontinued making this monitor and that they are refunding me the money I paid for the treadmill. They are NOT giving me back the extra I paid for the extended warranty. If I pay for an extended warranty for someone to be able to repair the item I purchased and then they can not repair it, then I want my money back that I paid for the extended warranty as well. On top of that, now I have to pay out of pocket to have the thing picked up and taken to junkyard. By the way, this treadmill was only a year and a half old and shouldnt of even had these issues but thats a totally different rant. Bottom line, if you pay for an extended warranty to have someone fix said item and then they cant fix or replace it, you deserve not only the money back from original purchase price but money back you paid for the extended warranty.Warrantech Corporation

Mr. ****************** you for taking the time to reach out about your experience with Warrantech.
A ************* agent has spoken with you about your current claim. The agent informed you that since the warranty was utilized to file a claim that you do not qualify for reimbursement of the warranty and at this time your contract is considered fulfilled. Per the terms and the conditions "If the Administrator determines that the covered Failure or Power Surge damage to Your Equipment cannot be remedied by replacement parts/components or on-site repairs by one of Our authorized servicers, We will either (a) provide You with an entire product replacement, or (b) reimbursement for the cost of an entire product replacement." "The total amount that We will pay for services in connection with all Claims pursuant to this Service Contract is up to the original Product Purchase Price of the Covered Equipment. Once the cumulative amount that We have paid whether for parts/components, repair services (including labor), entire product replacement, or reimbursement has reached the original Product Purchase Price amount, Our obligations will be considered fulfilled entirely and coverage under Your Contract ends (regardless of whether or not there is remaining time under Your originally purchased Contract Term)." I purchased a ** at BrandsMart in 2019 and purchased a 5 year extended warranty. Normally I don't purchase warranties because warranty companies don't really pay up when it's time to but BrandsMart is a reputable retail store. So a few days ago the ** will not come on and I called BrandsMart and they did verify that I do have the extended warranty but then told me that warrantech will likely just offer a small amount for the ** because it's going on 5 years old. I find out it's her because insurance companies are supposed to make you whole again so they should pay for a new ** I called warrantech and they are already trying to get out of even sending a rep out to my house trying to say that I probably have a cracked screen and if I have a cracked screen they will charge me.. I find these scare tactics to be ridiculous and very insulting and in the future I will be very careful about choosing this company For now they need to pay up because I paid them the money a few years ago and the product failed and they need to make it right and stop trying to scare customers and avoid paying the claimWarrantech Corporation
