We decided to research and install solar earlier this year and chose Solar SME based on price and the quality of product they provided. I felt ***** with the sales team was very upfront with me on the cost and financing options and the correlation of interest rates and loan set up fees. Once we decided on Solar SME and signed the contract we were switched to the project team and **** was our Project Manager. He was very attentive to our needs. The only negative for ** was the time it took for Center Point to approve our installation, which I don't blame on him or Solar SME. Once we had our solar installed we got a very quick turnaround to get the Permission to Operate. The install team led by ***** was outstanding. Communicated clearly throughout and did a wonderful job.

I signed my contract with Solar SME in December 2021. They were supposed to finish the job in 90 days per contract and if they are late, they will pay my electricity bill. They finally finished the installation in May but failed inspection for fire code & electrical code violations. The installers didn't know what they were doing, they broke a potion of my ceiling by hitting it with hammer. They finally fixed it in September after multiple complaints. To date they have not fixed the violations to pass inspection & have not paid any of my electricity bills. I don't trust this company, they don't do what they say & don't keep their promises. Please don't use them.Solar SME

We are really sorry for the inconvenience. Mistakes seldom happen and in this case we were completely unintentional. Our company takes full responsibility and we are doing our best to make up for it. We have everything already set up as you have discussed with the Master Electrician as well on the modifications that need to be done to pass the inspection. We acknowledged all of the demands made our way by taking full responsibility and hoping to finish this sooner than later. Our PM has been trying to reach you over the call and the texts but you seem to be non responsive. The master electrician and Installers are lined up and waiting on your go ahead so that it can be completed. Kindly respond at the earliest so that this can be taken care of.Review fromJames G

Solar SME finished up my install last year around August-they did a great job. I have 51 solar panels and a ** Chem RESU 10 battery. Around April, the battery failed. I contacted Solar SME and they were extremely responsive and immediately started working on getting the battery back to ** for a new one. In addition, they have been keeping an eye on my solar output and found that one of my solar edge inverters were malfunctioning, so they replaced my battery and replaced the inverter at the same time. I worked with ****** for my tech guy and *** was my project manager-both of them are very responsive and extremely interested in resolving my problems. It took a while, but that is to be expected. I went with Solar SME because they have great prices (about half what these companies roaming around in ***************** are charging) and the reviews are excellent. They always respond immediately when I contact them and they keep me posted on the progress of whatever we were working on-in this case RMA'ing the battery an and changing that inverter. The thing I would recommend remembering is that they aren't a huge nationwide conglomerate. They are based out of *****, and they have teams that travel around doing these installs, so it might take a bit for them to get to you if you need service. In my case, in ********, they generally have teams in ******** and ************** area, and they had a team come out on the two different occasions necessary to change my battery and inverter-once to pull the battery down for shipment, and then again to install the new battery and inverter. So, in my experience, they work hard to get out to you if you have any issues, they do great work when they arrive, and they stand behind their work. I highly recommend them.Solar SME

*****, the project manager, worked tirelessly to have my problem resolved: I had a squirrel damage. He sent his team to change a faulty panel due to the rodent damage as well as he made sure I had a good grade rodent protection installed on my system. He worked early on the weekend to oversee the project and make sure the mission was completed.Solar SME

I signed contract with Solar SME in late June. My solar panels were installed on September. I was originally told it would take 3-4 months. So the project was completed right on time. My project coordinator was *****. He did a fantastic job. He ensured the process would go as smoothly as possible. A couple of times I would send him text messages with questions in the late evening. I was surprised to receive his response back as late as 10 pm.Solar SME

Solar SME install in Brazoria County I rated Solar SME high because I did get the project I had contracted. There were several challenges along the way (as with most projects). I selected Solar SME because they designed the system I wanted and offered the equipment I desired. They were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. They advertised as being local and able to supply an all-internal turnkey project. Neither were completely correct, but not a showstopper. They advertise a ******* office, but all work is from ******. They contracted the installation to a contractor in *******. The Contractor was one of the best contractors I have experienced in over 40yrs of working with contractors. The contractor lead/technician ***** did an exceptional job (knowledge, communication, timeline, clean-up, quality of install). My project appeared to be my project manager's, ****** first project to manage in a barrier county requiring Windstorm ***-8, as well as, working with TNMP. I worked directly with him through several critical items to make sure all required deliverables were completed. There were several long discussions, but **** ultimately completed all required task defined within the contract. I think he did learn and could do a better job on his next project in a windstorm barrier county. The system started-up without issues and has been running for 4 weeks without issues. A strong suggestion is to review the contract carefully and make sure to capture all your expectations before signing as I did have to refer to it several times to achieve my expectations.Solar SME

Solar SME is a class act! They were the most competitive on price, used quality products ********** panels, SolarEdge optimizer, IronRidge racking), and quite professional! System has been up and running since 2019. UPDATE: The SolarEdge optimizer ended up needing to be replaced in Aug 2022 as well as an inverter. ***** from Solar SME was in contact as soon as they recognized the problem (from actively monitoring the system) and coordinated the parts to be shipped to the house and dispatched personnel to come fix the problems. Everything is now fixed and the system is generating power!Solar SME

I want to thank Roman ***** and his team for getting my system located in rural north Georgia up and running. Roman tracked down the additional expertise needed get my system set up in a (very) low cell coverage area. It is functioning perfectly now and Roman turned a difficult situation around by going the extra mile and lining up the right people for my install!Solar SME
