I was so excited to use this company the person who signed me up originally made me feel like I was going to keep be able to keep my bill under control. I am a single mother with two kids and new to the state. My first couple bills was OK but after that I start getting $200 to $300 bills and now is close to $400. I tried to call the company several times everybody speaks over you, Don’t listen. I have had ppl hung up on me. All they do is repeat the same thing over n over. I asked to make a complaint over 10x in one convo and the mgr told me I don’t need to make a complaint and continued to talk. My last bill stated that I owed 176.00 but I needed to make a payment arrangement. The payment arrangement was 91.39 for 2 payments. But that totals to 182 and sum change. But they are still charging me a late fee. Mind you my original bill is only $103.22 plus some other weird charge for 43.62 and some extras charges which made made my bill $152.21. don’t even use that much how is it possible when it is cold or I’m using more energy and my kids aren’t even here during the day. I work from home and I don’t even have any lights on during the day. I use sunlight during the day. I only use my Internet Monday through Friday. I hate this company. If anyone is reading this pleas recommend a more reliable and honest company.Business Response

I renewed my plan with Tara Energy online for 11.2 cents per kwh but was told it was cancelled due to the offer being old/unavailable. I found another company offering a similar rate but when I called to cancel the plan with Tara the agent offered a similar fixed rate for 2 years. So, I agreed to the renewal and since then all of the bills I received have the incorrect rate, resulting in an excessive overcharge I do not agree to pay. I have made several attempts to correct this by telephone. The first agent I spoke with said my renewal wasn't on file and would have to enter into a new agreement of 5 years to get the same rate. I very reluctantly did this. I was told the fees and rates on the bill would be corrected. When this did not happen I paid what I estimated the bill to be. My second bill arrived and the rates were again higher than I agreed to, and a combination of variable and fixed rates. I also notice now that one of the bills includes the very first rate of 11.4 cents I tried to renew for in July! If it isn't available, then how is it on my bill? This time I have paid a little over half of what I estimate the correct charge to be. Each time I call it takes 2 hours to get to someone who understands, then I am still told to call back to follow up. I can no longer waste this amount of time on the phone. I am asking for the incorrect charges/fees to be removed, rate to be corrected to the offer and term I originally selected, and for someone to contact me to confirm, please.Business Response

On July 22, 2022, I was approached by a rep from Just Energy when I got home from work. Who then went through his pitch and convinced me to give Just Energy a try. But, after reading over the emailed paperwork and thinking over the weekend, I decided to call Just Energy to cancel the enrollment on July 25, 2022 (their cancelation policy stated: You may cancel your agreement without any penalty or fee if: You request cancellation within 3 federal business days after you have signed the Application for Service.) And when I called in on the next business day of 7/27/22 and informed the Male rep that I decided to cancel the enrollment and told him it was due to I wanted a Free Nights plan and I wasn't offered one. So, he then informed me that he can enroll me in a Free Nights plan and canceled the initial enrollment and provided me with the cancelation ticket number of #********. Afterward, he informed me that there was a required deposit and I wasn't too happy about having to pay a deposit for a Free Nights Plan when I didn't need one for the initial enrollment. So we went ahead with the enrollment of the Free Nights plan by the end of the call and he informed me that Just Energy doesn't provide confirmation emails for cancelations but assured me that the Cancellation Ticket number he provided to me was a valid cancellation. So, I then called right back the very next day to cancel the 2nd enrollment because I decided to stay with my current company and I was given ANOTHER Cancellation Ticket number of #******** and thought everything was fine and dandy until I received a welcome email from Just Energy on 7/27/22 and that instantly pissed me off and I called in AGAIN and this time I talked to Tatyana and she confirmed everything in the system of what I just stated and there was supposed to be someone to listen to the calls and get back to me because I shouldn't have been enrolled. I paid my deposit and everything for Ameigo Energy and they are trying to transfer someone else's debt on to me to be paid before I can get new service new move in energy in my name. Even after explaining it is illegal to expect a previous tenant electric bill to be paid by me before I can get electric in my name and turned on. They refuse to listen. They had already taken my lease, liscense and deposit telling my electric would be turned on next day. After that never contacting me to tell me the electric was not turned on nor would it be turned on just to have my electric cut in freezing temperatures with a 71 yr old with dementia and heart issues.Business Response

I was in ****** in August 2022 and was approached by a Just Energy rep, the process was really quick with her explaining how much money I would save with JE, and her telling me that I was paying too much with TXU. She told me my rate would be 9.9KWH, free nights, and no contract. So, I signed up against my better judgement. I received my first bill, and it was $413.20, I gave them a call and was told that I signed up for 29.9 KWH, I told him no that's not what I was quoted, he said that he would have someone investigate and give me a call in 10-12 days, no call back and now reading the bill, it states I'm under a contract until 2025. I called a representative today due to my check allegedly being returned, however when I called my bank, they said nothing has tried to come through my account, so I paid with the debit card to avoid service interruption. The agent I spoke to, told me that my next bill will be extremely high, and this is absurd.Business Response

Living in my Home since 2004 and I have never paid over $165 a month in the summer!
Now I'm paying $265.00! Also a colleague referred me and we are both suppose to get a $100 credit. It's been since June when I signed up and still no credit?! I called them today asking about the credit and I was told since it has been 4 months they can no longer issue the referral credits! Crooks this company needs to be investigated!

The company is not transparent about their rates. I was quoted a rate of 19.1 cents and was charged 33.9. I called to get this resolved and they asked for 15 business days. They have not yet resolved it and the bill is due at their rate. They said their nights were free but they are not.Business Response

Back in November 2021 I was at ******** ******* ** and one of the Just energy reps and supervisor were there and started speaking to my boyfriend at the time while i was looking in the clothing department and my two small children were running around when i went to see what it was they got all of our information and my children were causing a commotion when they handed me the **** to sign i specifically asked them what i was signing due to i could not concentrate on what i was reading i told them I DID NOT WANT them to take over my electric account with met ed that i ONLY wanted more information and i was not singing any authorization forms for them to take over anything i wanted to do more research. the supervisor and the rep that he was training both stated that all i was signing on the **** was a release form for them to mail and email me more information on the company and prices. i NEVER recieved anything so i did not think about it a few months go by i never understood why my electric bill was so high then i called met ed and they informed me that just energy had taken over and their rates and fees were alot higher i called and canceled just energy as soon as i found out and filed two complaints with them they have now dismissed the cases with them. i just called back in today on 10/05/2022 to find out that they were not going to do anything i have asked them just to refund me the difference for the bills to help me get the past due behind that i now have to keep my electric from being shut off i am a single mom and work from home the supervisor on the phone susan had mentioned that a team can calculate the difference and that they could possibly refund this then stated that she could not do it at this time but the team could then back pedaled stating it could not be done at all and offered me a 100$ gift card for ******** i asked if it was just a band aid and she kept pushing the gift card and would no longer let me talk i never authorized them to take overBusiness Response

I was offered a 12.9 rate that included all service charges from the state and ***** in May of 2022 I did not accept offer at this time because my contract was over in August 2 of 2022. And I did not want get switched to a hire rate for remainder of my contract. I called back I. June to sign up for the 12.9 rate that included charges by the state and *****. ON THE CAVEAY that I was getting the rate offered in June of 2022. The assurance new higher rate would not go in effect until august 2 when my old contract was completed in august 1st 2022.AND IMPORTANTLY THATi would be able to choose from any rate that Amigo offered. I recently found out that my rate is 14.9 with all state and ***** charges included as of August 2,2022. Not the 12.9 rate I believed to be at.resolution would be to set my rate to 12.9 with all state and ***** charges included. To the august 2, rate. AND that I be able to choose any amigo rate offered available as promised I would have never agreed to 5 year term if I did not believe I could not choose. I was deceived in the rate and on my option to choose lowest rate offered I that to include rates that negate 5 year term.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
I just signed up for service with Just energy, and I was told I was getting a phenomenal rate of around 13 cents per KWH and then an additional 3 cents off for TerraPass. I just got my bill, and it says I am being charged around 24 cents per kilowatt. This is absolutely absurd, and I did not agree to these charges nor would I ever sign up for such a plan. I have been misled and tricked into thinking I was getting a great deal.
I have now canceled my service, and I want to file a formal complaint and dispute the charges. This rate needs to be changed to a sensible rate for example the 15.1 cents per KWH on powertochoose.org. This is not right what has happened to me, and I am not paying the cancelation fee of $175 nor paying these outrageous usage fees unless they are changed.
I have already called and tried to work out something with customer support with no good outcome. I also do not believe the usage is accurate on the bill. I just read my meter, and it was showing 2863, but my bill is showing 3964 which is over a thousand KWH difference! I have been overcharged, mislead, and I refuse to pay this bill unless it is reasonably changed. I would like my formal complaint and dispute of the bill to be escalated to management to reconcile a resolution so I can pay a reasonable amount and have these atrocious fees waived. I am more than willing to work with someone on the bill, but I want my meter to manually be checked for accuracy. Please have management review my formal complaint and dispute my electric bill.
It is only my wife and I living in our 3-bedroom home, and there is absolutely no way that we have used the 3964 KWH that the bill claims we did and being charged over one thousand dollars.Business Response
