My company ordered doors for a shop from US Steel on November 18, 2024. They cashed my check. We were told the doors would arrive within 6 weeks. They never arrived, and we were told they hadn't been manufactured yet. Since it was taking so long, we canceled our order and asked for a refund. Since no refund came, I called US Steel. No one answered, but there was a message saying my call would be returned. That didn't happen either. My foreman tried as well. Still no answer. We tried again many times. I finally texted them. They said I would be getting a refund. This still hasn't happened. I just want my money refunded for materials I didn't get. This may not seem like a large amount to some, but it's a large enough amount to my small construction company to want it refunded & not just ignored by US Steel.Initial Complaint

US-NA advertised on ********** for roll up garage doors. I went to the website to check on pricing of doors and created a quote for 5 garage doors. I had a follow up telephone conversation with a person from US-NA clarifying the order, and who emailed payment instructions for a check. On 4/14/25 I sent a payment authorization for a check to the ************************** email address, and the check was cashed on 4/15/25. Today is 6/24/25, and I have not received any confirmation that doors are coming. The person at the email address responds that they will send an update on shipment, but that never comes. At this point, and after reviewing other BBB complaints, I've realized that I've been scammed out of $14K. This criminal should be in jail.Initial Complaint

On March 28, 2025 a 10’ x 10’ roll-up steel door with track, containment cannister and remote controllable 120-volt operating motor was ordered from *** ******** **** ****** ********** ******** ** ** ****** **** is an internet store front that is a subsidiary, division, or department of The U. S. Steel North America Corporation (hereafter referred to as USSNA) to which full payment was rendered on March 28, 2025. According to the written, AGREED UPON ORDER provided to me by Will Jones of ****, “the typical production and shipping time is 4-6 weeks”, which calculates out to May 9th on the **** side. Today being June 16th, it has now been a full ten weeks since the order was placed and paid for in the amount of $2,341.44. To date, no one has ever directly called or emailed me regarding the status of the order. A recording answers the **** contact number of 1-800-887-7084. A caller has to leave a message, but no one returns the call. As a result, I have called USSNA directly at 1-800-608-9442. I called USSNA on May 9th to inquire about the status of the order. A woman named Heather **** emailed me in response to that call and indicated that ****’s production and/or shipping department would contact me with a status update. To date, I have STILL, NEVER received an order status update. Recently I have emailed Heather **** and requested that she initiate the refund of my payment to U. S. Steel North America because they have not been able to fulfill the terms of the Sales Order. I have received no response from USSNA.Initial Complaint

To Whom It May Concern:
I contacted US steel North America to purchase 3 brown standard roll up garage doors in October last year. I was told they could not accept credit cards and they needed to do an *** ********** from my account. On October 29th of 2024 they withdrew $3431 from my checking account.
I have emails and a contract stating 4 to 6 week lead time. It is now April 7th. I am approaching the 6th month waiting for information on when we can expect our doors.
I have emailed and called countless times. I typically do not get a response other than an occasional email that I will get information when available. I've given them extra time due to holidays and such.
I simply want a refund at this point. I've emailed and left several voicemails asking for a refund and get no response to that.
I do have proof of all of this through my emails, and contract with them and will attach the supporting documents.
Again, I am simply asking for a refund. I cannot continue to wait for doors to secure my tools and equipment any longer. My livelihood is completely unsecured at this point. I've found a local company that can provide me these same doors but I do not have the funds available until I am refunded by US steel North America.

On 3 August 2024 I placed an online order for a rollup garage door. This was after considerable coordination with the company - determining engineering requirements and specifications for the door. The delivery in the signed paperwork stated 4 to 6 weeks delivery time. Around 4 weeks after placing the order I started contacting the company to determine a delivery date. Response was minimal (Will ask Shipping). At 8 weeks I was informed that the door department was consolidating their manufacturing capabilities and would provide an update when available. I have contacted the company (leaving voicemails and emails) every week since late October. The status is always the same. I recently started including that I would like to discuss a refund of funds. The replies (when they do respond!) always are the same...we will get with Manufacturing and let you know when we have a status. It's now 6 months after placement of order with no product delivered, no status of manufacturing, no estimated delivery. All contact has been relegated to only email, no phone calls.Customer Answer

Payment option one: Have a personal or business check made out to US Steel North American, and reply back to this email* with a copy or cell phone picture of it, accounting will process with it.
*Majority of the customer are simply taking a picture of the check with their cell phones and emailing back, the accounting department then will process it electronically and move the order forward.
Payment option two: If you do not have checks, you are able to complete the payment by ACH. Fill in the account information on the attached form, sign and reply back to this email, accounting will create a check for payment using the information provided with your authorization.
