My wife and I visited this dealership to look at Dutch Star Motorcoachs.
I was first met by an Overly big and pushy salesman. I told him I wanted to speak to someone else about the rv we had already selected from their other dealership in Alvarado
The salesman Ron was low key so we viewed a few available coaches. I had to ask 5 times for price on a unit.
These people working here could care less if I bought a $550,000 coach from them
Beware scare off buyer tactics used here.

My wife and I visited Holiday World in Katy to look into the purchase of an rv. We gave our dl numbers and address in order to go out to look. We didn't find one we liked after a couple hours and left. We were just mailed credit search documents initiated be Holiday World stating we were turned down for application for credit to purchase an rv. We in no way applied for credit, my credit score is the lower of the 2 at 766. We now have a "NOTICE OF ADVERSE ACTION" as reported by ******** and several other negative comments from the reporting agency, all due to the fact we in no uncertain terms applied for credit, or gave permission for a credit check. Thank you Holiday World for exposing us to the dirty side of rv! This will not be the final negative post on Holiday World as I feel as though we were violated by HW.

On Saturday I went to my local Holiday World to look at a camper with my parents. My sales person Diego was great, and between 3 campers I decided on one of them. The deal was $2,000 down, plus the hookups and sway bar installed on my truck. Diego suggests putting $1,000 down now but reassured me it was refundable. Later I get a phone call from one of their finance guys-Chris. Chris tells me I need to pay $1,000 now IN ORDER to get my interest rate - to see if I can financially afford the trailer right now. He reassures me on the phone that it's refundable if I do not like the interest rate, and hurriedly gets me to sign a form. Monday comes and I get a phone call from the finance guy Chris. He states it's a high interest rate despite having 750+ credit score and he has no knowledge of parts+sway bar thrown into the deal by Diego. He calls back later, states they can only do some of that. But suggests I drive to the dealer to check what I really need. I drive up in 30min and meet the parts department. They look at my truck and tell me that I need everything, I need it hardwired with a brake controller and 7pin. BUT suggests I get it elsewhere because he wouldn't trust someone there to do it and I should take it to **** or ****** to get it done. Very nice guy who I had a long discussion with. I go back to Chris and at this point I don't like the going back on the full deal, and I want to prioritize getting my truck done before I purchase the camper. I tell Chris that I want to back out of the deal get my money back prioritize my truck and come back. Chris goes to his manager and we sit down and he offers to include the trailer plus all of the hook ups, brake, controller, everything - mind you was the original deal. Still taking into account that I don't feel comfortable getting it wired and hooked up at their dealership, I tell him I want out. He immediately says "well, you're not getting your money back because you signed a form." And like that the money is gone.

Well after buying their top of the line Class A diesel pusher. My new 2023 spend just over 3 months in their service department having one thing after another repaired. From toilets that don’t flush not even after they already fixed them the first time to trim falling off to fans not working, I can go on and on all the little stuff that should have never been an issue. After I was finally told I could pick it up the AC stopped working as I was pulling off the lot.

I took over $50,000.00 loss and traded it in right then for a Renegade Super C. Two weeks later I finally got to take it out and engine break and air brakes stopped working along with several other items. Over 1 1/2 months later I’m told it’s ready this is after 6 failed attempts to pick it up after receiving a call from Holiday World Service Department when all the work wasn’t even completed. Well summer is now over and kids back in school.

Stay away Holiday World Katy. The service department is full of incompetent people.

While the sales department did a great job, the service department is another issue. The day we picked up our new 37' bumper pull trailer one of our entry doors (we have 2) was damaged. We were told they would get it ordered so we left with the trailer. We had a few warranty items that needed to be taken care of so we called for our "appointment". Their appointments are a joke because that meeting has absolutely nothing to do with when they will start the work. Two days before our appointment we received a call that our door would be there two days after our appointment so we thought that would be great. However, that was not the issue. We are now 10 days into the repairs and the door has still not been received. Not to mention that the warranty work had not even been started by day 5, in fact, did not get started until my husband went down there in person to complain. Explain to me why you have an appointment day/time when the actual work could be weeks away?? Not to mention that they don't tell you that! We are currently paying for a spot at a very nice RV park that can't be used. Is Holiday World going to reimburse us those missing days??? My husband went to the shop once again to talk to the service manager regarding the door and was assured they would get it expedited/overnighted and would be calling him back by noon the next day. THAT did not happen as my husband had to call him back. Service after the sale is extremely important and so is word of mouth. Recommendations or lack there of can ruin a business.

Be sure and check the value of their used units before purchase. We purchased a Newmar 2016 Dutchstart for the price of 329997.00 now 11 months later I find out this thing is only worth between 170,000. and 200,000.00 I understand they are in business to make money, but this is just not right to price a used unit that far off. I have learned a very hard lesson in buying with them. I have sent an email to two different people and as of to date no response back. Not surprising as they already got my money and made the sale. I wish I would have read all the other reviews before I even thought of going into their business to purchase this rig. I truly feel they took advantage of us. To me there should be a law against over-pricing a used unit. I hope that they get busted for unfair sale practices. Alice S
