      Do NOT shop online at this business. They sent the wrong thing and would not send what I ordered. They insisted it was a return even though it was not. Their only solution was take my time to return it and re order what I actually ordered and then they would send it to me. I ended up reordering the item to get it canceled on me because they are all out of it. Now I’m stuck with the item I didn’t order and I’m not going though the return process and wasting my time, definitely will not be a returning customer.

      Academy Customer Support:

      Today my mother and myself went into Academy to purchase firearms. My mother is 63 years old and has been a victim of a kick door robbery not once but twice in the same week! She lives in a small town called Wharton. These crimes usually don’t happen so we are taken back and fear for our lives. The sales associate by the name of Jon at the Rosenberg location Store #115 was very knowledgeable on the guns in the display counter. When it came time to fill out the paperwork which was on an iPad my mom stated she did not know how to work it due to being computer illiterate. He kept telling we couldn’t help her with inputting her personal information in the iPad. He was extremely rude! She finally got through the first part and went to take the 10 question test. She missed 1 and failed. I think it was due to her just being nervous caused by the way he was hovering over her and making jokes due to her taking such a long time to answer the questions. I then asked if I could take the test so I could purchase the firearm I wanted. Jon, stated, NO I CANT SELL YOU A GUN, YOU MIGHT BE PURCHASING IT FOR HER! I was appalled! I didn’t know you could refuse to sale. My mother and myself live in two different places. I live in Rosenberg. His unprofessional behavior needs to be addressed. I really feel as though it was racial discrimination against us due to being two black women!

      Terrible experience! Can’t get a hold of people at the store. I tried calling the location to get a pickup person changed and could not get ahold of anyone. I tried calling for three days. Got told many different things by different people.

      I am very disappointed!
      I don’t recommend purchasing a gun from them unless you have endless time to wait on them to get your information correct and waste your time. It’s been an absolute joke. First time I was up there Kyle filled out my paperwork wrong which I don’t understand how when he had my id and concealed. So went up there for a second time had to refill everything out and was told just hang out shouldn’t take long.. 2 hours later with a 2 year old we are still waiting cause I don’t wanna have to make. 3rd trip seeing as I live in Baldwin and why should this be so difficult. So we wait around academy till they close … STILL NOTHING. So I call this morning and all I get is systems have crashed call back sometime later this afternoon.
      Highly upset and disappointed I still have no answers and no gun.

      By far the worst experience I’ve ever had entering an Academy Sports. As much as we patronize this store when it comes to our children & sports! Purchased a firearm for my husband & item was shipped to them from a third party. My husband name was the FFL pick up. He arrived with his info but was told because his address was different to purchase a hunting license. He paid for that & the FFL fee. Next day he went to pick up firearm and different person “Tim” wouldn’t give him the firearm as it was “other issues” that weren’t discussed off previous day. His attitude was very nasty & basically was like I’m refusing the sale. But item was already paid for yet he wouldn’t release stating whatever mistake his employee made he wasn’t fixing & he didn’t have to fix and to put everything in my husband name. Purchased a 2nd firearm with all corrected information $340 yet has to be shipped & wait on previous return still nasty attitude from store. They refused to refund my husband his FFL fee even after he paid & did what was instructed. The previous firearm return papers were given to Tim and now he wants to be nasty further and we are out of $700 waiting on returned goods when he did as instructed. Sad part this is how they treat their disabled veterans! And this is suppose to be customer service? Horrible! Going to ****** ******** from now on! *** ** ********** ******!

      By far the worst place to deal with. Ordered a item on internet and item was in stock. Ordered was canceled cause of out of stock. Called customer service and they will not make the matter right. Please take yalls business to a small hometown gun store where ur money actually matters

Their only solution was take my time to return it and re order what I actually ordered and then they would send it to me. Had to talk to two different people. Kayla just dismissed me completely and sent email for return label. Never have I ever had a business deal with their error this way. Unfortunate and beyond disappointing.

      The quality of customer service and experience is by far the worst I have experienced. At one point it was worth it to shop with a favorite local retailer. The issues begin with the pricing that is shown online that is to match the price in store. Unfortunately, it does not match whatsoever. Typically it is substantially higher in person, meaning there is no validity to the commitment made. The customer service is and has been absolutely horrendous. Many times it has been that there is not a soul in sight to assist with shopping needs in store. The checkout lines are rediculous and exhausting. Cashier's an general staff are inappropriately dressed, condescending and all together at times less than aware of the fact that they are in a place of business. Let alone, a representative of that business. There is never an attempt to ensure a quality experience even if that means just supporting a customers question or inquiry. Our last experience in the local store, being mortified by the treatment received, I literally left my $400+ worth of shopping at the counter with the less than stellar representative because of these issues. Getting a credit card has been the ultimate worst nightmare of my adult life. There have been billing issues since the account commencement. Not one time have I been able to speak with a representative that could help and didn't lie about the actions taken. Being lied to and told fictitious information has topped the cake for me. Every month I have had to call and waste days of my time to get no where. Forcing me to just deal with it and accept less than par. How can this type of practice be condoned by what was a reputable company? Ultimately, I have shut down our account. My family and I will NEVER, EVER, return to Academy to procure a single item ever again.

      On Monday Aug. 1st my children and I we were shopping at the Academy store, 2550 Pearland Pkwy, Pearland, TX 77581. As were shopping we came a cross two 30qt igloo coolers that had a sale sticker on the blue igloo cooler one was for 1.95 and on the other green 30qt igloo coolers had the sticker sale price 10.95. So the kids and I said that is a deal let go a head a grab both of the coolers. As was continue to shop thru the store we came across some shirts on sell. Found one that we liked and headed to cash register to pay for the item that we chosen. The cashier saw the items that we had and also saw the sale price that was on the coolers. She said that this was a big discount and that she had to get the manager approval on the register. So when the manager arrived, he immediately accused me of putting on the sale sticker on the the items and will not under no circumstance that he approve the cooler for this amount because I place them on the coolers. All this was said in a very poor attitude towards me and my kids. So I asked to speak to the store manager. She came to manager first to see what was going on and then she came to the register with the same attitude of the manager and to me that she will not sell me the item for that sell price. I replied so you are not going to honor the price that is on the item. She replied No I do not have to honor anything I do want to. I replied what about the shirt that has a sticker price of 2.97. She said the shirt but the coolers no. I asked her what is your name she said “Britney” she didn’t want to give her last name.

      I was making another gun purchase from them and after filling out the form, they told me I had made an error on the form and they told me this happens a lot and so I asked them to let me resubmit or correct the form so they would have the correct information and they said that it was not allowed for me to give them the correct information which is odd that they were willing to send false information to the ATF which is a felony. And even worse they said that I could resubmit the form in thirty days, and they would hold my weapon for those thirty days. IMO they should have made sure that I had filled the form out correctly given I've not only purchased from them before and apparently, but I had also filled that form out correctly and received my weapon on the spot. And they should have told me that if I made an error that they wouldn't let me correct it and would hold my weapon for thirty days. I talked to a manager, and he said that they didn't allow customers to correct an improper or accidental error. And he said that if they had warned me to be careful that that would be illegal because that would be considered helping someone to fill out the form which is complete nonsense. So, in short, they've knowingly sent false information to the ATF, and now I have to wait thirty days to resubmit the form and get my purchase
