A former employer used Insperity for HR/Benefit/Payroll services. When I left that company in May 2024, I attempted to rollover my 401K and was informed I needed to wait for a 30 day period before rolling it over. That's fine. I called back after the 30 days and was informed that Insperity could not roll the funds directly into my personal rollover account with Fidelity, that I would instead receive paper checks in the mail. That is unusual, but ok. I called back about 2 weeks later because I had not received the checks and was told that it could take up to 14 business days to receive the checks and I should call back in a week if they still had not arrived. Today, over 70+ days since I left my former employer, I received a "performance report" for my 401K, but still have not received the disbursement checks. I called in and was told they would put a stop payment and reissue the checks and the 14 day clock would start over again.
I asked that the checks be expedited since this process is arduous and frankly, painful. And was told they could expedite them...at a charge of $15...that I would have to mail into Insperity. What? First, you can't transfer the funds to my financial institution, I have to receive a check. Then you can't expedite without a charge, even though my monies have been held for over 2 months...then you can't take payment...it has to be mailed in (am I wrong or would that completely cancel out the expedited days).
I disliked using this company when I was employed, but these antiquated practices that I keep bumping into as a former employee are even more ridiculous. Insperity, if you can't expedite my funds, OK...but don't make your business look silly by asking me to mail in a "fee" to have it expedited.
