In October, 2022 while I was recuperating from surgery of a broken femur, I received a bone stimulator from Orthofix. I was assured that it would be covered by my insurance and that it would not cost me anything. With that understanding, I accepted the ********** year later, in October, 2023, I received a bill from Orthofix for $4,995.00. I called Orthofix and was told that they had been unsuccessful in setting up the billing, so therefore I was being charged for the bone stimulator. I argued that it was not my responsibility, since I had been assured at the time I received it that it would not cost me anything. They said I would continue to be billed for the ********* January, 2024, I sent a certified letter to Orthofix disputing the charges and explained why I felt I was being billed wrongfully. Since then, they have continued to bill me every month, even threatening collection; however, they have not addressed my letter of dispute and complaint.I feel that Orthofix provided the bone stimulator using devious and dishonest practices. I need them to stop billing me and also to stop any plans of further collection against me.For further information or questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

We received a device from the company on 11/21/23 for my son's back. We were told that our insurance BCBS would not cover the device and we needed to pay the one time discounted rate of $1000, which was paid in full. They then filed to BCBS and a claim was processed and paid on 12/14/23 with a payment of $2858.67 from BCBS to Orhtofix and patient responsibility was zero as we had met out of pocket for the year. I have called monthly since December even escalating to the Dr. ****** and sales rep. I was told it would be processed for an appeal back to BCBS as they should not have covered the device and this would take 30 days (this was on Dec 28th). This was not actually completed until 2/24/24 after several more calls. BCBS processed the appeal and deemed it was paid correctly on 04/04/24. I was then told by the service manager that they are going to send a refund to them anyway to force a medical records review. It has been two weeks (a total of FIVE months) and I still have no proof of refund to me or the insurance company. They have been holding an over payment now for over 4 months and will only say they are on PTO, back logged, and once that this is "their problem and not mine". This is insurance fraud and I truly know that if I had not been calling monthly that there would not be any refunds issued on the account. I am requesting a full refund of my funds per my insurance EOB. What they do with BCBS at this point is up to them. I will also file a complaint with the insurance board. This is not an acceptable practice.

I had recently met with a doctor whom highly recommended their medical product. I was under the assumption that it would be covered by my insurance and it was. However the business is constantly sending me bill statements after I provided documentation verified of payout and when I attempt to contact their billing ***** I am sent to a voice-mail box. Highly inept and very corrupt business practices.

I recently had a spinal fusion on March 24 of this year. I was called by Orthofix after surgery about their bone growth stimulator, and was told they called my insurance company and I had no co-payment or out of pocket expense for item. For this reason I decided to go ahead and get item. After I received item, a few months later, I am now being told I owe $500. I called insurance and they do not have record of call by Orthofix. I have voicemail by Orthofix stating they told me originally I had no copayment. I have box that still has $0 written on it. I feel as if I was scammed in order to agree to bone growth stimulator under the impression it would be no cost and now being told otherwise. I asked about returning and they said I can but still have to pay full price. The customer service rep also laughed at my situation when I called. I would not have moved forward with stimulator if I knew about expense. I feel like it is a way to get people to take their products under false information and charge later. I can send voicemail if needed and picture of box

This company Orthofix sent me a back bone stimulator to assist me with follow up care after surgery. During the time my surgery was scheduled and my surgery was to take place my doctor went out with COVID 19.

After that when he came back he said they discontinued using this back brace and I was to recevie a new prescription for a new device. The orthofix back bone stimulator was 100% obsolete and the new one was pocket sized and a million times better. Anyway the company contacted me shortly after my surgery and I informned them that I was not going to be using this device as my doctor prescribed or changed the prescrption to a new device and the old one was no longer beign used.

They at first told me I could not use it and would ahve to pay for it, but then I was told I could return it. We shipped it back like a year ago and since then they have been claiming they havent received it, and continue to harass me with phone calls and bills.

The last phone call was today and the lady on the phone told me I should follow up with where the device is, after I told her 6 times it was sent to them.

SHOULD I COME TO YOUR PLACE AND START ROOTING THROUGH BOXES TO FIND YOUR LOST PACKAGE?

I want these harassing calls and bills stopped - this device was never used ,and is obselete now anyway
