      A "friend" referred me to Stream and told me that if I signed up through him for service, that I would save money (looking back at this, this was clearly a commission-based sale). Their gimmick is that they help customers save on their electric bills; however, I paid over $800 more in the last 10 months with Stream than if I stayed with JCP&L/First Energy. After reviewing my bills, I found out that my rate changed without notice. I called Customer Service and received a rep out of Texas. He informed me that notices are sent out to customers when rates change. I told him that I did not get one. After further speaking with him, he realized my account was in NJ and not Texas so I was transferred. The new rep informed me that in the state of NJ rate change notices are not sent out, and that they are not legally required in NJ. Even if it's not legally required, good (transparent) customer service would inform customers of changes regardless, but clearly Stream does not care about its customers...only its revenues. Since I was not informed of a rate change, I asked the rep if there was anything that could be done to adjust my account to the fixed rate (the rate before it changed to variable without notice to me) and she hung up on me. I then emailed customer service on 7/29/22 to see if they could help. While I waited for a response (by the way, I am still waiting for a response) I decided to call again, and spoke with another rep, he was very polite but said he could not help either so he transferred me to his manager, equally as polite, but said that there was nothing that could be done and he was very sorry. He actually told me to file a formal complaint with the Board of Public Utilities. A testament to just how their employees feel about their company. In short - stay away from Stream, and be diligent about checking your bills every month to make sure if you do sign up for another supplier that they are truly cheaper than the one local to you.

      A Stream Quality Specialist reached out and spoke with ******* ****** on 8/29/2022. The Specialist informed Ms. ****** there have been recent changes in our policies but would like to give her the opportunity to resolve her matters. The Specialist and Ms. ****** had an amicable conversation regarding her account. Ms. ****** provided some positive feedback regarding her interactions with our Customer Care department. Stream apologized for the experience Ms. ****** had with one of our representatives and will share this information with our leadership team for coaching and training opportunities. Stream will continue to work with Ms. ****** to resolve her concerns.

      If anyone is currently using the secondary energy provider called "Stream", I highly suggest that you cancel your service with them immediately! They are nothing but a scam! They claim that they will save you money on your electric bill. I just found out today through Ohio Edison that we have literally been paying DOUBLE with Stream what we would have been without them. We've had them for at least a year. No wonder our electric bill is always so high!

      My electric bill has skyrocketed and I am being charged more from Stream than JCP&L! According to my JCP&L bill I am not paying LESS than their price to compare. Stream is doubled if not more than what JCP&L is charging me! I would like to get this rectified as the amount of money I am paying for my electric bills is insanely high and no where near what my neighbors or family is paying. I need to reduce the amount I am paying from Stream OR cancel them altogether!
