1 starThrive Pet Healthcare Specialists gave our dog a death sentence and we took her home and I worked with her all night and saved her life. She was shaking, almost dead and these people don't care.We recently adopted a dog, and she became sick and started vomiting and would not eat. She had all her shots including *****. We took her to Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists: They gave her a Parvo test at a cost of $260, which came back negative.Further they wanted to do $1200.00 dollars in additional tests to see what was wrong with her. They suspected all along she had an obstruction in her intestines but was milking the gig and attempting to take all our money before they kicked us to the curb.It is obvious that veterinary care has became more about money than the health of your family pet.Something I learned awhile back on ****** I tried with her. I put my arms around her and gently worked her intestines.I heard a sound in her guts and continued to love her and message her all night. The next morning, she woke up and was highly active and hungry. I gave her a small amount of food and gave her water.Later she pooped a little red ball which she had a swallowed. She is doing so much better now and hoping she has a 100 percent comeback with no thanks to Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists. ***************************************************************************************Review fromAnnette E

I believe NorthStar Vets is an ******************. A few years ago I Adopted a sick ferret with a chronic illness made many trips to the emergency room. If the triage nurse felt my pet needed immediate care they took him in right away if not I had to wait my turn. I also own a mini dachshund who recently had back surgery by the neurologist at NorthStar vets.. in my opinion, you couldnt get better care. Yeah one or two people at the front desk are not the friendliest but that happens anywhere you go. The doctors there have many years of experience. People come from all over because its a ************** with excellent doctors! Just wanted to share this with anyone who needs help for there animal.Thrive Pet Healthcare

1 starTook my cat in for an exam, he had fur missing on all four legs. He had not been scratching at all and was on flea meds. Staff took him back supposedly to be looked at by the vet, they told me he had fleas and was covered in flea dirt. Ive had cats for 20 years, I know how to check my cats for fleas and flea dirt, he didnt have either. They told me my flea meds werent working, that only ****************, and charged me $79. I spent the money for the Revolution and waited two months, no improvement. I took my cat to a traditional vet and found out he had a staph infection that was causing his fur to fall out, 30 days of a basic antibiotic and hes completely better. The traditional vet cost me $130 with the medication. Thrive apparently doesnt have qualified vets on staff, or the vets arent actually seeing the animals. They dont do the exams in the room with you so who knows what they do in the back. Thrive is a waste of money and dangerously incompetent when my pets health is at stake.Review fromKim T

1 starIf you need anything more that a rabies vaccination for your animal then I would recommend going to a traditional pet.I used the ********** location a number of times for routine things like vaccinations and nail clipping. I recently switched to the fountain view location and was so horribly disappointed and frustrated I will no longer go to any of their locations I don't care if it is literally across the street from my house. The staff is so confused, unknowledgeable and unable to assist or even speak clearly it is a disgrace. The number of times they require you to come back for a minor break in a foot was absolutely ridiculous and stating that they are available for walk ins is laughable!!! They will not see your pet if there is an emergency!!! Everything they say they are... THEY ARE NOT!!!!! If I could leave a negative rating I would have!Review fromJoan N

1 starThey should be shut down. NSV is the worst. We were told that our account was blocked because my husband waited 4 hrs last time we were there. He called repeatedly and the they didn't answer the phone. He had to leave to go to work. So essentially they would not see us. Said we should go to Jersey Shore. What ******** runs an emergency vet facility with no triage staff and one Doctor. To refuse an animal that can't speak is a disgrace. They should be shut down, I will not let this go ??Review fromMelissa R

1 starDo not get this stupid pet insurance. It doesnt cover ANYTHING! They also dont have specialist so god forbid your animal needs surgery or something more specialized than just a normal vet, but even with a normal vet you save close to nothing having this I insurance. To top it all off they will charge you a $150 cancellation fee because at the end of the day all they want is your money.Worse decision Ive ever made was going to this place and using this insurance. 1 starThis place was the worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary practice. We brought our dog in to be examined because she was having a stomach issue and vomiting repeatedly. We were triaged immediately which I thought was a good sign, but waited over five hours to be seen! The staff in front behind the desk were extremely rude and the office manager, ******, was if possible, even more rude and condescending. Whenever you would ask how much longer of a wait time, they were unprofessional and with no empathy, threw a number at you. They told me I had five people in front of me and then we would see other people come in and sit down for five minutes and be greeted by a tech and brought in the back immediately. ??? Everyone was complaining and we were told if we left for a little while and came back, we would have to start our waiting time all over again. The receptionist was smiling when she told us this. It was a standard answer from them apparently and could care less. All while having food delivered, chatting about their personal lives etc. I have never seen such a total lack of caring or empathy at a veterinary practice in my life! I was told by the so called office manager ******, that their practice never turns anyone away when they have a lot of patients coming in, and this is why they are so busy. Like this is to be admired? Their sole purpose I feel in not turning people away is Money! He then proceeded to tell me rudely that they are very short staffed with vets and they just cant seem to acquire any more at this time. Then they have to have the responsibility to tell the people who call or come into the office this situation and that the waiting times are outrageous. While I was in the back waiting to be seen, I noticed all the business cards posted from the vets who work there. I counted TWENTY ONE emergency vets! I was told there were only three there that day. They should be ashamed of themselves! Also extremely costly!Review fromPatrick G

I've never had a worse experience in my life. I was going to wait until my pet passed away before writing this, but they just decided to drop me as a client, so I've got nothing to lose at this point. I made a list of issues because it's simply too much to keep track of.- The incident that triggered Capital from dropping me as a client was that they refused to analyze blood results that my primary vet sent to them. My primary vet mentioned that it was very "strange" and normally vet specialists are happy to give their opinions. Not **************** though. He refuses to look at a blood sample unless his office took them, so the blood sample that I paid $250 for two weeks ago was useless. Capital wanted to charge me an additional $350 for the exact same blood panel that was literally just done.- This turned into an argument and **************** felt it was okay to just get rid of me. This is also at a time when I need my prescriptions filled, and he is refusing to fill the prescriptions. My cat is on SERIOUS medications - chlorambucil (chemo drug) and prednisone (steroid) - and these medications are not supposed to be stopped suddenly. I asked that he at least fill my prescriptions, and he said no. It is blatantly obvious that **************** doesn't care about animals and is only in it for the money.- My prescriptions were routinely incorrect after Capital called them in. I had to speak with management several times because the prescription was flat out wrong. We adjusted my cat's medication several times, but Capital just couldn't communicate that within their office or with the pharmacy they called my medications in to.- They don't honor appt times. Have an appt at noon? The "doctor" won't see you until 1.- It's next to impossible to speak with anyone regarding your pet's illness. They use a voicemail system when you try to contact your Dr's ***** so you just have to wait for a call back, which either doesn't happen or it's several days later.Thrive Pet Healthcare

Mr. Guerriero was released as a client as he stated. His pet was under the care of another veterinarian who had performed diagnostic tests to monitor the body's response to therapy. His primary veterinarian was responsible for the management of his pet's condition. Mr. Guerriero became hostile and was verbally aggressive with Dr. Walker and the nurses in the hospital. His behavior in the hospital left many of our clients feeling so intimidated they were scared to leave their consultation rooms at the end of their visit. Mr. Guerreiro caused significant physical damage to the hospital upon exiting that now must be repaired by a qualified professional. The Jacksonville Police Department was contacted to report the incident. The incident type was recorded as criminal mischief by responding officer. Surveillance camera footage also showed Mr. Guerriero violating traffic rules in his heightened state when he sped out of the parking lot and ran through a stop sign into oncoming traffic endangering those around him.Review fromKat W

1 starWow! I just got off the phone with Thrive on ************ in *******, **. I called to ask how much the cost is for euthanasia. My sweet dog is ready to go to doggie heaven. Hes 13, cant walk barely eats and drinks and sleeps most of the day. The cost is $199. Not bad but first, they want me to have a consult with the vet, a $55 charge to tell me whether or not my dogs qualify of life meets the euthanasia guide. What? Ive had to put down pets before over the course of my 58 years. So, they want me to bring his tired body in for an evaluation?!? That is insane! I will take Buster to some place that is able to actually visually see that hes ready. What a shame.
