I just purchased a 2009 **** F-150. I initially thought I was purchasing 2006 F350 but the sales man sold it due to a miscommunication via text messaging so the whole time we were signing the contract I initially thought I was signing for the 2006 truck. It wasnt until about half way through signing I realized it was for the 2009 and then he apologized immensely. Nevertheless, thats not the entire reason Im filing this complaint. I signed the contract at the end of the day when they were closing and we rushed through signing. When I got home I looked over things again and saw the total purchase price was significantly more than the price on the windshield. Price on the windshield was $10,711 and price on the contract was $14,460. I didnt understand where the $4000 difference was coming from. When I went in yesterday to have a part fixed the manager explained to me that their bank charges them a processing fee for their loans, then they add it to the total cost of the vehicle when financing. I asked him why this was never explained to me? Because I put down $7000 on a $10000 truck. Had I known this, I would have paid cash for the entire truck. He said since he wasnt here for my contract signing he couldnt explain this. Ironically, the salesman had called in sick this day and could not explain this either. No where on the contract does it specifically state what this extra charge is? Just that it is built into their sales price? This seems strange to me? So after fees and finance charges my original $10,711 truck stated on the contract that its now $18,777.52. That is close to double what the listed price was!!!! On a vehicle that is a 2009. I told him I wanted to go ahead and pay it off to avoid this unnecessary $4000 finance charge that supposedly came from the bank and they said its now not possible. I asked to speak with the owner and he said the same thing. I will be going to the state with this as well to find out the legalities of this.
