    I ordered a heavy weight distribution hitch on 2/24/23, arrived 3/3/23, through Amazon. I had to exchange the shaft for a 2in with the company and thus did not use the hitch until April 2023. I drove 3 trips using the hitch and then it snapped in half. When I contacted Weigh Safe, this was a known issue, but nothing had been done to warn, recall, or prevent this issue. This is an obvious design flaw that they claim to be user error. The entire system is held together by the main screw that is adjustable, but has no safety on the bottom to prevent it from being completely unscrewed, and then 2 tiny screw posts. The 2 screws hold the entire heavy duty weight distribution and hitch portions together. Luckily this happened at a low speed and not on a main road, otherwise myself and my kids could have been killed and our house destroyed. Weigh Safe customer service has offered replacement with their "redesigned" hitch, however this is not a new redesign of this hitch, but rather their middle weight hitch already available. This hitch has a lower weight rating and costs less than the one I paid for. The other offer is to repair the broken hitch, which does not change the design flaw and puts me at risk of it breaking again, possibly with dire results. I do not want anything from them other than a refund. I do not trust their products at all, especially since this was a known issue and they did nothing to warn consumers or fix the design. This to me is dangerous and despicable. I have all of the emails, pictures, and receipts upon request. There are too many to upload through this portal.
