Let me start off by saying I'm not sure what kind of scam America First credit Union is running but they're definitely running one. I recently financed my vehicle with them they have a special going on 90 days until your first payment but they don't tell you that you're paying interest on those 90 days. So now I owe more on my vehicle than it's worth. That's STRIKE ONE STRIKE 2. I MADE A DEPOSIT INTO MY ACCOUNT ON MAY 9TH OR MAY 10TH AND THE AMOUNT OF $800 PRIOR TO ME MAKING THIS DEPOSIT My account had a zero balance for at least 3 weeks I didn't owe anyone and no one owed me anything I made the deposit then I also made a purchase for a Spirit airlines plane ticket in the amount of 378 so with that being said I also withdrew $300 so I still had enough money to cover any small Capital One credit card payments and the amount of $25 and a few other small purchases American First likes to wait until your account balance is down to zero to say that your first purchase was pending and didn't go through. I made the purchase of 378 on the 12th. I had 800 in my account when this was made. Fast forward till Monday the 19th America First is saying that put my account over $31 HOW? Far as refinancing my vehicle I never would have agreed to pay an extra $400 and interest they did not do me a favorBusiness Response

I financed a vehicle with AFCU on 09/14/2022 and provided proof of insurance. However, AFCU started charging me for additional car insurance from 09/14/2022 to 02/26/2023 and from 02/26/2023 to 09/14/2023, despite proof of car insurance from me and my insurance agent. I also started to notice that my credit bureau score started to go down. When I checked, it was AFCU reporting me as having late payments. When I contacted AFCU they said it was because of no proof of insurance and them paying the insurance on my behalf. Despite having autopay with them. I have contacted AFCU numerous times since 09/14/2022 to get these issues resolved and have also sent proof of insurance. They promised they would get it fixed: my credit score and reimburse the extra money they made me pay for insurance. However, neither of those things has happened. Here I am, almost 3 years later, with bad credit and $2527.00 paid in additional car insurance, but they are still reporting me late every month to the credit bureau. My payment went from $502.56 to $$510.00.Business Response

In June of 2024 I started the car buying process with this institution, at the time my partner was hospitalized unexpectedly, and I was caring for him and my car had just gotten totaled. It took from June to October to finally find a car and that was because I broke down from months of not having a vehicle. I spent hours and hundreds of dollars, looking at cars, paying for car reports and mechanic inspections. When I finally did find cars underwriting stated they did not want to approve as the VALUE OF THE CAR WAS TOO LOW! I have been in processing for five years and it makes no sense how that would be an issue, I even had one seller email them why she was selling the car for a couple thousand under value. This happened on three cars and then they made the excuse of the car being out state and that an employee would need to inspect the car. Well fast forward to October of 2024 I finally buy a car, and no one inspected, now no dealer wants it, and I am upside down. hence why it feels predatory like many others have explained. The car had 159K miles on it when they sold it to me and ** approved it like that. They did not heed to my best interest and ripped me off and now my partner and I are stuck with a car that we do not want and doesn't best suit or serve us. I finally have a buyer, and they did not approve me for the $3000 personal loan when I make more than enough. I want to give the car back and my loan being paid off and closed out with no negative impact to my credit score, they did not look out for me, and I am extremely remorseful of moving forward with them in any manner. I have tried numerous times to get this resolved via trading my car in and selling and agreeing to paying the difference of myself all to no avail and terrible customer service. I can provide all the numbers and details necessary, the loan is for $13,000, still owe $10,000 my payment is $210 and my insurance is $240, I even got all the extra insurance with them.Business Response

We have not resolved this problem, the only action that has been taken is getting approved for a person loan for the difference on my auto loan should I sell my car. I had a buyer lined up and I called in on three different occasions to let them know what was going on with my car and how I was selling it private party. However the bank delayed so much so that I now no longer have a buyer. Their response times are unsatisfactory and they fail to provide solutions that accurately solve my problems.

I joined this bank days ago because I plan on leaving ***** fargo and making a credit union my primary banking. I called ahead because 1, i recently been divorced and updated SSA an IRS only with my maiden last name and my current Drivers license has my marriage last name and im in process of changing it once i was able to deposit my tax refund into my account. Well that didnt happened. I made sure prior before going to a branch will it be an issue if i deposited because i recently again got divorced. the nice *** said to me on the phone i shouldnt have a issue if i provided my final judgement showing that name last name is back to my maiden last name and thats what I did today. I went in had all of my documentation and told them i called ahead to make sure its fine if not then ok. The teller was nice she said its fine and proceeded to continue. She scan my documents with the *** and it was approved and i signed my tax refund and it got scanned in and the *** said oh the system saying no. Im like what? Then i got told oh it be a 9 day hold on the check i said thats fine. then i heard something i dont know what was said but i been told to sit down and wait and i did. after wasting 20 mins of time and counting. i got told oh its issues with your ssn and your drivers license its denied. Like whats the point of scanning and assuming things when i called ahead like people get divorces all the freaking time. So i left because nothing seem right and I left and called to explain what happened. The lady from fraud department was rude as h*** She closed my account out like dude you ***s just accepted my court order documentation and told me a 9 day hold and now you saying my id is fraud and my ssn isnt valid. SO ABSURD! I had my ssn since 2016 and got a IP PIN on my taxes same ssn been filing taxes for years. No issue its because im brown and now my account is closed. ***** fargo was able to deposit my refund after verifying it and told me i am good to go.Business Response

My AFCU credit card payment was due 2/28/2025, I made an external transfer on 2/27/2025 online to cover the amount on the card. To my surprise I was still charged $12.38 in interest on 3/1/2025, I called to inquire about this and was told that because it takes a few days to process the transfer my payment was not made "on-time" so I was charged interest. I reviewed my bank statement and the money was debited from my account on 2/28/2025 and was no longer accruing interest in my savings account but also did not prevent **** from charging my interest on my CC. I tried to resolve this with several phone calls which were a waste of time. I was told that there is a notice given that it would take 3 business days for the transfer to clear when I made the transfer online which I do not recall being there. I have since gone back and looked at every step of the process for transfers and there is NOT a notice given. Punishing a customer for making a payment on time through external transfer is ridiculous.Business Response

Oct 3rd of 2023 I was victim of identity theft. I reported to all parties including ****. My car was repossessed and lost my apartment due to negligence of **********. After repossession I offered $8000 to get my car back which I was denied. My car was then sold for $9500 leaving me with a collection of the loan amount. This is incriminating due to the fact I offered $8000 which I then had to spend to get another car in cash and start another loan. How can I be held accountable for a loan I dont own, and a car that was sold for more after offering $8000 in one transaction? I was denied and within 2 days having to retrieve my personal belongings out of my car in a junk yard. All calls are monitored and recorded. Regardless of loan, how can you deny $8000 to get my car back after an identity theft complaint was filed on all behalfs? After all of this I now ************** $14,000, paid $4000 extra to lose my apartment, owe $16,000 to **** on 2 loans when it all could have been avoided by accepting $8000 in one lump sum to get my car back and return to ACH payments. This fraudster used AI to reverse all of my ACH payments through ********** and put me in this situation. How can I have this accountability when I offered the retail cost of vehicle? My spouse and I sought preapproval for a car loan. We spoke with ****** (loan officer) Friday March 7 and discussed a loan of $5000. Preapproval was granted and we were to call back with the *** and mileage of vehicle. We selected a vehicle and called back Monday March 10. I again spoke with ****** and provided the vehicle information. He verbally offered a 72 month term, with monthly payments of $112 and interest rate of 6.24. Loan amount was $6,000. I verbally agreed to the offer. He verified our emails and informed us we would receive loan documents via docusign by end of day. We did not receive them. I called after hours on Monday and twice today (March 11) leaving voicemails each time. ****** called me back this afternoon and said loan docs would be resent. We received a request from the processing team for the seller to provide information on the vehicle. The seller provided the info at 2 PM. We met at a branch at 5 PM and nothing had been done. We sat for nearly an hour waiting before the loan officer at the branch stated that the loan they would offer would be 36 months with a payment of $203 per month. We asked what changed and the loan officer claimed ****** made no note of the verbal offer and never sent anything to the underwriters. We verified the info I provided on Monday matched what the seller provided today. The loan officer said they could not offer the loan terms I verbally agreed to. As such we left with no loan, the seller wasted an hour of their time at the bank and for good measure the loan officer disclosed our personal financial information in the sellers presence without our permission.Business Response

I am filing this complaint against America First Credit Union and Allied regarding their mishandling of my auto loan and insurance verification process. The situation has become extremely frustrating due to conflicting communications and abrupt, unjustified actions on my ********** January, I was informed that my regular auto loan payment would be sufficient. However, I was later told that due to an added collateral on my vehiclewhich was supposedly imposed because of a lack of insuranceI needed to double my payment. Despite making the regular payment as originally agreed, the situation escalated when the loan began showing as over 60 days past due, while it should only reflect roughly 30 days past due.I have attempted to resolve this issue by calling Allied on two separate occasions. The first time, I was told by a representative that my documents were verified and I needed to wait 10 days for the update. I waited nearly three weeks with no resolution. On March 4, another representative assured me that everything had been taken care of. However, when I called America First today, March 10, I was informed that Allieds records showed that nothing had been done. I have maintained detailed call logs as evidence of these interactions.This constant runaround and contradictory information have caused me undue financial stress and confusion. The sudden, unexplained doubling of my payment due to the collateral, combined with the inaccurate reporting of my loan status, has left me feeling misled and extorted. I request that both America First Credit Union and Allied immediately resolve these discrepancies, update my account accurately, and provide a clear, written explanation for these actionsBusiness Response
