      Bad **************** for Their Own Mistake I ordered shoes on a black Friday special. They sent the entirely wrong item and will not refund my card until I send them back. I have to use my printer ink, my paper, my gas, and my time to go wait in line at *** during Christmas to ship these back JUST to get my refund. Then, I have to wait until 5 business days after they receive them for that refund to be issued. To top it off, they no longer have the shoes for replacement so I don't even get my shoes. This was my first and my last order from this company.

      Dear ****************, thank you for your first order with backcountry and our deepest apologies for mistakenly sending you the incorrect item. I understand this whole situation has been tedious to say the least and we regret that we are out of stock of the item you ordered. We were able to confirm that this item was received back to our warehouse on 12/5. While we normally allow for 3-5 business days for returns to be processed, we have made an exception here and have processed your refund back to your original method of payment at this time. Please be advised that according to your banks policy, it may take up to 48 hours for this refund to be reflected on your bank account.

      This complaint is more of a company policy and how greedy they are. I have purchased many items before on backcountry and did not have much problem with their prices or their policies. However, recently I bought an item and then saw the same exact item for much cheaper. I contact the gearheads and they tell me that our policy for price match is 48 hours after the item gets delivered. Turns out I missed the time frame by 5 hours and simply put they would not refund me the difference. So I asked them can I return the item and purchase the item with a matched price to which they said I could. So essentially I will be shipping back an item which I will eventually receive anyways and waste unnecessary carbon emissions simply because they could not alter their company policy. I do not know whether it is greed that drives these decisions or something else, but for a company that deals with the outdoors and claims to support conservation efforts and reducing greenhouse emissions gasses, I am very disappointed. I don't plan on shopping there ever again as it seems like the company does not stand by its values nor has any interest in reducing its carbon footprint.
