I was at the parking lot at 400 S in SLC. I am not from around that area so am unfamiliar with the issues surrounding the parking lot. I turned early so ended up in the parking lot behind Jimmy johns. I had ordered ahead so I was just running in. My daughter was in the car alone and the car was running. I didn’t see and signage in the parking lot because it was up high to the right and partially covered by a tree. As I walked to Jimmy johns I saw a lot of signs but thought it was for horizontal parking. In hindsight that was probably not smart but I was just running in. I was gone at the most 30 seconds and parking solutions had booted my car. With it running and my daughter in it. I explained I didn’t see the sign and that I wasn’t even dining in Jimmy johns. I also said my car was running and my daughter waiting. He said well she’s not the driver. He refused to remove it without me paying $75 with a debit card or cash. Seems like in a situation like this a warning is much more appropriate. Not to mention the man was so awful and rude.

Got my car booted on *** * *** * in the Office Max parking lot. I was only gone for a few minutes and come back out to find that my car has boots on it and it says I must pay $75 to get it removed. This is a predatory practice that preys on people. I was a customer in Office Max but since I left my vehicle they put boots on it. Extremely disappointed in both Office Max and Parking Solutions. I want my $75 back as I was a customer of Office Max and did NOTHING wrong.

I parked in a parking lot on February 28, 2023 and walked over to Jimmy Johns. I was in their store approximately 5 minutes and walked out and my vehicle was booted. I was on my way to Jamba Juice when I noticed the boot on my car and the sticker on my driver's window. Immediately I was approached by this tall bald headed man who did not give me his name or any company identification. When I told him that I had been parking to go to Jamba Juice after I went to Jimmy Johns, which was close to where I parked, he told me it didn't matter. He said there were signs that said not to park to go to Jimmy Johns, which I did see when he pointed them out but didn't when going to Jimmy Johns. He said he witnessed me walk into Jimmy Johns and that I had to pay the $75 to get my car unbooted. After exchanging a several words I was told that I had to pay or else. I then handed him a credit card and was told it had to be cash or debit card! I was very upset and could not even remember my pin number for my debit card! He made me sign a form before he would take the boot off and since I needed to get to appointment, I had to sign it to get my car free. Since he did not give me his name, I went back to ask him his name and he got into his car and sped off without telling me as I wanted to register a complaint with the company. I feel that is entrapment and extortion? for $75 as he sits and waits for someone going to Jimmy Johns and immediately booting the car without finding out if the person is a customer of 4th Street Market!! After reading these complaints here and other websites, this business is unethical and doing illegal activities. It appears this is their method of operations and needs to be stopped. Citation # is *****.

I went to pick up a City Weekly from a kiosk on 4th South and 5th East. There was no street parking available for that kiosk, so I pulled into the marketplace parking lot so that I could run over and get it and get right back in my car. I couldn't access it otherwise. In less than a minute while I was doing that, a man had booted my car and insisted that I wait and pay $75. I tried to argue my case, that it had been less than a minute, that there were numerous other open spaces available, and I was clearly not trying to infringe on business for any of the retailers, but he was rude and insistent. Others around noticed how ridiculous it was and tried to intervene. After waiting, we continued to argue, and it escalated. He said that he was going to "make money off of the content" of our argument from a camera he had around his neck. As after that he made a point to read my name aloud from my debit card and my car license plate on the video, I considered it a real threat of posting it online to make money and defamation of my name. At no time at the beginning of the interaction was I informed that I was being filmed, and that personal content such as my name and license plate would be on the video and could be posted online by the business and to make money.

Not only do I feel the booting and ticket was unwarranted, but I am mostly concerned that without my consent, my personal information and a video of me upset could be posted and monetized on the internet. I was coming from a therapy appointment where I was discussing a recent sexual assault from which I have severe PTSD, I had been sobbing and was extremely upset, I just wanted to get the paper and get home. That a business that is supposed to be for parking services is filming people and posting that content online without their permission, and that an individual from that business can make money off of that content, does not seem legal to me, nor does it respect my rights to privacy during a traumatic time.

I went to the parking lot on 600 E and 400 S (the 4th south market). I visited both Jamba Juice and Jimmy Johns but was booted by this company for going to Jimmy Johns since "it's not part of the 4th south market." I did attend a business in the 4th south marketing (Jamba Juice) yet I was still booted and they refused to listen to me or help in anyway. The person was aggressive, rude, and threatened me unless I paid an outrageous and unjustified $75. I expect a full refund on the $75 STOLEN from me.

I went to Jimmy Johns on *** * in Salt Lake City Utah while my boyfriend went into Zuppas. We had to go orders so we parked and ran to both restaurants and then back to the car. I come back and parking solutions puts a boot on my car and requests $75. I was like but I am also using the other businesses. He was like it does not matter you walked to the Jimmy Johns parking lot. This is a scam for my money.

This is a predatory parking enforcement company. I parked in front of Sport Clips on 4th south in the 4th South Market parking lot. I went into Sport Clips and put my younger son on the waitlist for a haircut and was told it would be about a 45-60 minute wait. My 2 sons and I decided to get some lunch while we waited for the haircut. We walked around trying to decide where to eat and eventually decided on Jimmy John's, which is in the same parking lot. We entered on the sidewalk on 4th South and didn't see the signs stating that we could not go there if we were parked in the lot because they are only posted in a small area. We ate and were there for about 20 minutes, then returned to Sport Clips. After my son's haircut I found that my minivan had been booted. I called and tried to explain that we were in fact customers of Sport Clips and that I had a receipt but the Parking Solutions employee Jared was unwavering and would not listen. He threatened to tow my vehicle and I would have to pay hundreds of dollars if I didn't pay the $75 with cash or debit immediately. I wanted to pay with a credit card but he said they don't accept them. He must sit there and wait for unsuspecting people to walk to Jimmy John's so he can boot and fine them. The signs in the parking lot don't say that you can't leave the parking lot, they only say parking for 4th South Market only. But what about the waitlist for a haircut? Do they want people crowding into Sport Clips waiting for upwards of an hour? What is the harm in walking around while you wait?
