I reported racist conduct of this school and left reviews and as a result they have threatened me on multiple occasions are and retaliating against me. They are trying to strong arm me into retracting statements that I have screenshots of yet have quietly changed what my initial complaints were in relation to while denying any wrong doing. This school is disgusting and I will be escalating this to every government agency and entity. These people are evil. They do not do everything to support each student. Everytime I leave a review or defend myself they threaten me. These people are disgusting.Western Governors University

This review was left by the same person that left a previous review under a different name. Unfortunately, there is no truth to the review. *** did everything possible for this person.Review fromElexis P

I've hated everything about this school. I've been insulted by ******* staff who called me stupid after they made a mistake with their own technology. The school claims they record everything but deleted the file after ignoring me for several days about the issue. They actively work to erase evidence and conceal problems to work against students. The school is racist and thinks it's appropriate to refer to black students as ebony. They regularly ignore correspondence addressing concerns and third formal complaints process does nothing. I have been working with a federal attorney. Everyone from the ****, to ombuds to my mentor have been useless. Also, mentors will harass you when you're busy or try to establish boundaries until you have an actual problem. I hate this school and the faculty all are terrible.Western Governors University

I am disappointed with my purchase of *** Academy. They put me on a new platform which none of the success coaches or teachers understand how to navigate. They ask you to take a **** class that has misleading instructions to submit assignments; it's a time ****. They wasted my time with the **** requirements that took away from the exam requirements needed. They also told me I was signing up for the CompTIA Net+ certificate program, but changed it to CompTIA ITF+, which are completely different courses. They blatantly lied to me. I could have taken the exam from CompTIA and saved myself the hassle of the **** class... The success coach didn't give any useful information to assist in navigating the course work. What a waste of time and money... Also, the comments posted from *** to other complaints are completely tone deaf. I don't see any useful customer service commentary in them. They don't seem to be getting the message... I would not advise spending your money at this college!Western Governors University

*** regrets any negative experience that this reviewer has experienced, however *** Academy is a separate entity from ***. Concerns about *** Academy can be addressed to ******************************* We also regret any perception of tone-deafness on our part. As we usually point out, federal law prevents us from discussing most of the issues raised here because of the public nature of BBB. *** has a formal complaint policy and internal process that is the appropriate place to raise any issues or concerns. Through that process, they are properly addressed and resolved. That process is accessed at *******************Review fromBrittany H

Wow, wish I had come here before going to this school. I was in my last year before running into financial issues where I couldn't pay off my tuition. I ended up getting a scholarship but it wasn't enough so I had to drop off. This school is supposed to be not for profit but I wasn't even out of school for a month before they sold my debt to a collection agency. A crappy one at that because I've called and got no response. I've emailed them after I finally received a debt collection email but they still haven't gotten back to me. I received funds to apply to my debt but when i logged into my account it was already sold. A couple weeks after that i received letters from *** stating I had 14 days to pay my tuition and they sold the debt and I would no longer be dealing with them. I emailed *** but that got me no where. I loved my mentor but I won't be back once I can pay my remaining terms in full. Money hungry school. They won't go bankrupt getting **** late. Now my credit is tank because of a debt that's less than a month old. Why make matters even harder for their students? I understand their rating hereWestern Governors University

As a non-profit school, *** has no incentive to collect more than the amount of tuition necessary to cover our costs. Students are expected to pay tuition on time as agreed. Students who do not pay tuition on time are given extra time to set up a payment plan and they are sent to collections if they do not do so.Review fromChristina T

As you can see from the reviews they have problems with women. The one male who gave a positive review is in the college I should have bee attending but I am the wrong gender. The first time I came here they did not want me. I got my Undergraduate elsewhere. I went on to get my certified. Ethical hacking cert, also security plus also splunk. I have numerous certs in critical infrastructure also. My friend told me to come here to get my Masters in cyber security. The first man said that I couldn't because my bachelor's degree wasn't in the right field. And he didn't believe me. When I said I was CEH. So I tried again, I got a man named Tyler. Tyler I thought he what he was doing. Until he gave me the wrong format to submit, my cybercerts. Then he tells me I'm not allowed to start. But we're gonna keep the start date for next month.. He says that the school wants transcripts from the company. That prepped me from my cybercerts. So if you are female and want to be in the field of cybersecurity AVOID this place. They will waste your time, money, they don't understand preparing classes which in my book makes them stupid. They are discriminating against females in IT. I am sure their system is not secure. All Tyler could say is thank you for helping me learn. I am not your text book.Western Governors University

It is an unfortunate thing that students generally do not leave reviews in BBB if everything goes smoothly, which is the case with thousands of students who graduate, very satisfied, every month from ***. This prospective student apparently encountered some difficulty in enrollment but thankfully is still going forward with ***. *** has student complaint policies and processes to deal with the occasional mistake. If there has been an error on our part, it is definitely not related to anyone's gender. *** has a very high percentage of women in all levels of responsibility.Review fromRicardo R

I'm currently enrolled in BS IT degree plan at WGU. I figured I'd put in my personal experience here considering I typically only see negative reviews on sites like this. It makes sense considering people usually only visit the BBB to file complaints. My assigned mentor has been amazing. She's very understanding of my personal situation and has been very encouraging and supportive. The course mentors have also been very active and helpful. They are proactive in reaching out if they notice you haven't logged in consistently and ask if you need additional support or help with your class. As for the curriculum, it's perfect for me considering I have a full-time job and also married with kids. I can usually only study and take exams early in the morning or late at night. I'm also earning my CompTIA IT certifications through my degree plan which is a huge plus. I've gone through 2 semesters, passed my classes and tuition has been reimbursed by my employer. That's a win in my book. The nice thing about competency-based learning for me is I've been working in the IT industry for a decade and already have a lot of knowledge from hands on work experience. I can focus on material I know I need to learn and skim over the subjects I already know. It is not easy by any means, but nothing worth learning ever is, is it?Western Governors University

We appreciate this positive review. The reviewer is correct about reviews in general. *** has ******* students and is graduating thousands of satisfied students every month. It is usually those who have experienced a problem who post on this site. Thank you, *******, for being the exception.Review fromEileen A E

I had a scheduled interview. I was prepared with paper and pen and had my questions formulated. The interviewer was supposed to be **** and she was to call at 11am. At 11:04am a guy called me and introduced himself. I said "I am expecting a call from ****" to which he replied "she is busy. You can reschedule or see if I can answer your questions" I explained "I am expecting an interview. If that is something you can do, then let's move forward" He then opened with "so are you still interested in a *** for Special **** ***!!!! I applied for the *** in SPED; I sent in my transcripts; and I filled out the request forms specifically for this program and now I have someone calling me wondering if I am still choosing this? I responded "here is what I would like. I would like you to not waste my time. I would like you to have my information in front of you; and I would like you to speak to me with confidence and take agency in leading this discussion as an expert on ***. " And this "specialist" said "I won't be spoken to in that way so I am hanging up" **** How in the world are they taking money from people with the promise of a degree, but lack adult skills; leadership skills and agency? This school seems to be a scam. I was excited about it and now I feel scammed and compelled to report them. They feel fraudulent to me.Western Governors University

While taking my Foundations in *************************** I failed the final once & used what little the results showed to study the areas I lacked. Took the exam a second time. It was completely different. Failed again & noticed the weighting of each category had changed. It was not the same as the first in which categories were the percentage of questions. I met with my Course Instructor & explained that some of the scenarios came off really gray & didn't make sense or match the material. She advised she was aware of this issue & explained final exams are created by an outside firm *** uses. This firm doesn't use subject matter experts. She stated it had been brought to "higher management" at *** by several CIs, but nothing was done & CIs were not given a copy of the exam nor the questions. She then also stated that some students took up to 6 tries to pass this final. There are other courses she knew that were like this too. After three tries, *** makes you pay for each additional exam retake. I completed the course survey and no one reached out. I brought these concerns to my Program ******, who advised she was going to investigate as she had no idea how the finals were created. She acted outraged & asked me to focus on another course while she looked into it. ***** after being told this was being reviewed, she advised she spoke with her manager who stated the CI must be "bitter" over not being involved in creating the final exam. For multiple weeks she avoided our bi-weekly meetings stating ************ would just meet at the next scheduled bi-weekly. I emailed demanding an update as we were now three months into the issue & had no resolution. She advised "investigation" was a strong word & started back peddling everything she had voiced to me on our phone call. I was advised that the curriculum was under review as it was due for it. However, they still refused & avoided review of the final exam. This school is a sham & refuses to review any program problems.Western Governors University

*** has investigated this student's experience and deeply regrets some missteps and unsupportive actions of our faculty that resulted in this student's negative experience. *** is a learning organization and is constantly reviewing the performance of our courses and assessments and revising them to create a more successful and effective learning experience for our students. Coaching will be provided to faculty who missed opportunities to be more supportive of this student. We will also be reaching out to the student to discuss options for resolution and fair treatment concerning the term just ending. We are not immune to making mistakes and when we do, we own them.Carol J.

The school has never reached out to me to discuss these concerns, or try to write any of the wrongs. In doing research, I found posts from students in previous years stating the same problem. It seems that *** has been making these mistakes for many years and putting their head in the sand.Review fromKayla R

I have been trying to enroll with *** and had my transcripts from my previous two schools sent in for processing. I was told this process takes up to two weeks. After three weeks I reached out to the transcripts department. No response. I email a second time, but still no response. I reach out a third time and let them know that this is my third time reaching out with no response and I would appreciate knowing when my transcripts would be processed so I can complete the enrollment process. What do you know? Still no response. At this point, I have zero interest in getting my degree from this place.Western Governors University
