ABSOLUTELY A WASTE OF TIME. The closer you get to the end of the program the hard the correctors make it for a student to pass each module. Course instructors tell you your papers are passable and then the random correctors fail your papers for nothing. Each corrector finds a different problem and different way that they want the papers to be written. Thousands of dollars wasted on a program that DOES NOT WANT STUDENTS TO PASSWestern Governors University

*** programs, especially Masters programs, are rigorous and require students to demonstrate competency in all areas of their profession, including writing skill. Students are often surprised at the level of difficulty to meet competency requirements and the need for revisions of papers to meet articulation standards. The rigor of our programs is one reason employers like our graduates. *** provides resources to teach and coach students in all areas of competency. *** is a not-for-profit school and, as such, has no profit incentive to not want students to pass. Just the opposite, *** does everything we can to support students' acceleration through their programs as quickly as possible.Review fromjessi A

I'm so glad I didn't go through with enrollment. I tried to call the person who emailed me about finishing my enrollment process. I was instantly directed to a questionaire that asked if I was over the age of 50, I said no, but was then directed to automative call center for life alert!! WTF? A university personel phone number should never have that happen. It's a scam, they really rope you in if you are a self motivated person already working in the field that pertainns to the degree you are finishing. ****, but I consider myself one of the lucky ones, that I figured it out sooner then later.Western Governors University

*** regrets that this potential student had this experience. Of course, ***'s phone number does not connect anyone to a telemarketing call center. It is clear the this individual misdialed our number. *** has over ******* students and enrolls approximately ****** new students per month. We are a university. We have no interest in selling "life alert". We hope that this individual will realize their mistake and continue with their enrollment process. *** really is the best place for a motivated person already working in their field to get the degree they need.Review fromKeisha S

Was told by initial intake representative that I would be done in 6 months **** with that being said I signed up that day. After speaking with an advisor she said it would be 2 years. First red flag but signed up anyway because I was told I could complete classes fast to save time and money. Classes were ******************** than the traditional school where they will grade you off apa style and spelling rather than true text. After getting a paper back and being told to revise I withdrew that day. Went 15 days and still owed over **** bucks.Western Governors University

When a student transfers in a significant portion of the program courses, completion in 6 months is not unusual, with acceleration. *** does require proper APA formatting, correct spelling, and original material in submitted papers. The professional rigor of *** programs is a main reason that employers like to employ *** graduates. This student was very engaged in the program and probably would have been successful if she had stayed. However, *** is not for everyone. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) prevents us from providing details in this public space, but this student's recollection of the number of days actively enrolled is not correct.Review fromDeirdre S.

This school is a pure joke! All I can say is, this school is nonsense. No one knows what they are doing and they are just out to steal your hard earned money for a degree they could care less if you obtain or not. They don't care about helping you pass assignments, just will fail you AFTER giving you the green light your assignments are done correctly, with no discretion why things are suddenly done wrong and how to fix it. This school and a majority of the "professionals" are lazy, uncaring, and clowns. They just love to waste your time and hard earned money, which stealing is basically all they care about. At first the school and program itself was great, but now it's pure frustration. The students put in the work for this school to c*** on it, locking your assignments and belittling you when you call the instructor/ specialist for help. I am fed up with this sad excuse of a "college" and am on the verge of transferring, which I very well know the school could care less who stays or goes, but I would rather go spend my money on a college that is USEFUL instead of wasting it on ***. I am disgusted. I know some people who have gone here and have loved it, but however I would never recommend this institute to anyone else. Second worst academic experience I have ever gone/ am going through.Western Governors University

*** regrets that not everyone has a positive experience in college. Students tend to receive more benefit when they are more engaged. ***'s programs are rigorous and require dedication and attention to detail. Our programs are structured and students are more successful when they follow that structure.Review fromSuzie T

I simply started filling out the paperwork to see if it would be a fit for me and not even halfway through decided to stop and never completed the paperwork. I have since been harassed by multiple numbers - text and call - several times a day about my "interest" in their program. One person even went so far as to say they were "calling me as I requested". I assure you, I NEVER requested ANYONE to ever call me. I have texted STOP on all the numbers that are texting me and a new one will text from a different number. This IS harassment. And I will bet money they sell your information and now I will have a major influx of people trying to sell me extended car warranties on my new number that hasn't ever been harassed by spammers and scammers. Something needs to be done about people selling our information and harassing us. This is ridiculous.Western Governors University

*** appreciates this being brought to our attention. This will be investigated. Our enrollment department does not want to contact anyone who has indicated that they do not want further contact.Suzie T

That's interesting because I've been texted AGAIN this morning. And, I'll wager the only reason I'm not receiving more calls is because I went into my Call Protect App and set it up to auto-reject all calls that aren't saved in my contacts. How is it that I have now had to reply with STOP to four different numbers from texts just at this point?Western Governors University

In the beginning my experience was *** was great. If it was my schedule if it was my family schedule I could do it while everybody was sleeping everything was good. I get to pce nobody knows anything nobody can do anything I practically had to do it myself. Then I get to DT which is demonstration teaching or student teaching big problems. So first I couldn't do my PC until the next following school year and I got it done in 2 weeks. I did full days everything was done. I finally am able to apply for DT and then I'm told I have to wait another 10 days. That's their procedure that's what they told me. I said I don't have all this time to wait I've been waiting the principal wants me to start on a certain day I would like to start on that day too. Well it's our procedure we don't have anybody assigned to you. Okay why can't I go in and start doing some stuff until I get somebody a sign no that's not possible either. It's been a month and a half. I've lost my job and I'm probably losing my car because I only budgeted for the fall semester to do this they're taking my entire year. So nobody is going to help me out with that they're just going to keep telling me the same thing over and over. You have to wait your 10 days they should be assigned to you any day now. It's our procedure this is the process. Mind you I've never had in the entire time with *** had to wait more than a day or two to be assigned an instructor and I didn't have to wait for them to start any of the courses. This tells me it's all about money. They're just getting another term on me so they can get more money out of me. More government money because that's where the money is coming from.Western Governors University

I was also a student who enrolled in *** BSIT Program and had to drop out after a year because there is no guidance, structure and they employ inexperienced instructors who knows nothing about the IT Courses I was taking. The Examity Courses and Exams are all created and run by rude and disrespectful foreigners who do not speak correct English. Some of the course contents were not legible and once I was given an exam from an older course than the updated one I studied for. I had to constantly do online research to understand most of the terminology and make corrections of their mistakes in the courses. There was no help with my third party CompTIA A+ courses or Exams either. I complain and all my complaint fell on deaf ears. When I called *** *************** for help they said they had nothing to do with the third party exams. My CompTIA A+ courses and exam was a disaster and I almost had a heart attack from failing to setup and complete the exam online three different schedules. if I was not trained in CPR, I would not be here now. Eventually my mentor told me to do the exam at a test center in my area. I failed that exam as to be expected without tutoring. I had done online and traditional college courses before and even earned my associate degree at an online college. However, this was my worst experience in a school setting. I am still disappointed and wished I had not wasted my time there. I now owed student loans that I did not benefit from.Western Governors University

*** regrets to hear about any student who chooses to discontinue their degree program. ***'s BSIT graduation rates are comparable to the highest ranked schools in the country, and the program is continuously being improved. ***'s learning model is not for every learning style, but most students who stick with it do graduate. 70% of our student graduate within 48 months.Review fromJohann C

The employees seemed helpful enough, but things seemed a little off. "Admissions" is separate from "Scholarships", which is separate from "Transfers" which is separate from "The Placement Team", which is part of their ****************** if pursuing a degree in Education.Nobody knew anything about their "********" component which was an expired bonus program unavailable as an incentive to transfer credits. They also were not an option to transfer in credits from an accredited, physical university. Stick with a physical, accredited university you know and can verify teachers have degrees from accredited universities when possible. And the BBB.org Rating of "B-" is a bit telling. Its about trust.Western Governors University

*** does transfer credits from accredited schools. Courses typically must be completed within the last 5 years to conform with ***'s recency requirements, and courses must cover all the same competencies as the corresponding *** course in order to qualify for credit. Also, ***'s faculty all have degrees from accredited universities. ***'s rigorous admission requirements are just one of the reasons that *** is rated so highly by the employers of our graduates.Review fromTami J

This is the most racist institution operating in higher education. While taking online classes (pursuing my master's degree in elementary education) I was working daily in a Title 1 school district as a substitute teacher, teaching grades K-12. Even while my friends are all from varying races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, and from a wide disparity in socio-economic status, and even while I worked with other teachers from that wide berth of description, the staff at *** (Most of them Mormon and living isolated from the world in their **************, ****, commune) called ME a "racist" and they ordered me to take "sensitivity training" through courses offered on LinkedIn. Why? Because (in one example) I had described the only white child in a video-recorded classroom as "the blond child." That's after no childrens' names had been provided for the film and most all of the children in that classroom were wearing grey shirts. So I referred to the most identifiable feature of that little girl in respect to the social interactions that had been taking place in the classroom. What does *** say? They want you to be COLOR BLIND! They wanted me to describe each child by the color of their shirts (when most children in that classroom were wearing grey, like that would be helpful for anyone wanting to know which child I was talking about). It was such an outrage ... to repeatedly be accused of racism ... that I appealed to the administration. This was not a successful appeal because this school genuinely WANTS us all to pretend there are no races, genders, etc. *** wants its master's students to pretend we all live in an imaginary world where everyone looks alike, as though we all come from the same privileged background.I felt so strongly that this school is doing a disservice to the world by ignoring race, by pretending people all come from the same background, that I dropped out. One year later, I still feel very strongly that I made the right decision.Western Governors University

Worst academic experience I have ever had! I’ve done other online degrees with GPA 3.8 and I failed classes at WGU due to the unorganized program. WGU has three components a course instructor which you must make an appointment with to discuss course info. There isn’t any instruction to students. No lecture and materials aren’t applicable to tasks. Most students google tasks to understand what to do or join social media groups to help each other. The second component is a mentor, again you must make an appointment. Mentor can only help with class scheduling and opening classes but often do not allow to accelerate. Third component is the evaluators who grade your papers. They have 3 days to grade and they tell you areas you must revise but are vague and you don’t have access to discuss with them. They literally delay courses so you have to pay for another term of $4400. They don’t allow breaks unless it’s end of semester even for family deaths or your own illness. Just horrible and I feel robbed! I lost employer tuition reimbursement and they extended me 2 terms. Awful!Western Governors University
