  In August 2022, Viliami M******* from S & V Concrete, approached us with an offer to do concrete pad & stairs, gravel work, 2 rock walls and fire pit. He came to us in 2022 several times with sob stories begging for all the money upfront. Against our better judgment, we paid all remaining funds owed. Record of payments that total $21,000:
  9/1/22 - $10,000 - DFCU cashier's check 9/2/22 - $500 - cash w/d from ATM 9/6/22 - $2,000 - DFCU cashier's check 10/15/22 - $1,000 - cash payment 9/1/22 - $2,500 Venmo payment - deposit 11/01/22 - $1,000 - Venmo payment Boulders (received) 11/28/22 - $3,000 - Venmo payment concrete deposit 12/01/22 - $1,000 - Venmo payment concrete deposit He committed to doing the following: - to pour a large piece of concrete at the side of my house, approx. 36 ft x 34 ft, cutting slopes into the sidewalk for a driveway to enter said concrete. - to pour a concrete set of stairs - to build a rock barrier wall - to build a rock barrier fence along a pathway - to pour a concrete fire pit with a circle cut out. - to install weed barrier and install gravel overtop in the remainder of my yard. - to replace a fence panel of my neighbors that his crew damaged. The only work done is: - a shoddy job laying gravel over weed barrier cloth that I provided. It was poorly installed, so the yard has since filled with weeds, because of a very poor installation. - a Rock barrier wall that is also full of weeds (no barrier was installed below the rocks) - a very small patch of concrete that would serve as a fire pit. (14 ft x 11 ft pad with garbage can size cut out) - a very shoddy installation of wood cement forms with some rebar pieces. These were installed in 2023, and the wood has deteriorated over time. We hired a new contractor, who has had to remove and replace the forms and start over. (Including doubling the rebar necessary for the concrete surface.) Viliami has not returned any of my texts since 2023, and has made NO attempts at resolution.

  Hired the company and the next day they started. That was awesome. They showed up. Removed the old sidewalk. Frammed up the stairs and sidewalk. That was 7 weeks ago. They left the broken concrete piled on the street. I have no safe way into my house. And was just told from the owner of the company that he doesn’t have the funds to to purchase the concrete needed to complete the job and was told I have to wait. Even though I already paid him the 9 K for the job. Now I am left with no concrete, no stairs and a giant mess to clean up and still have to now come up with more money to get the job completed which I don’t have. Please do not use this guy he is robbing Peter to pay Paul. At this point I just want my money back and to never see this jerk again

  On 08.27.22, I hired S&V Concrete to complete the following jobs:
  - Retaining wall with concrete pad on North side of the garage.
  - Concrete pad for Shed on North side of the house.
  - Concrete patio on southeast side of the yard.
  - Deliver and spread decorative rock in park strip.
  
  We agreed upon a total cost of $15,000 with an $8,000 deposit. The deposit was paid via check #1753 with the remaining funds due upon completion. It was further agreed that all work was to be completed by October 31, 2022. As of today, November 4, 2022, the jobs have not been completed.
  
  Mr. M******* has worked approx. 2 half days in which he dug up my yard laying forms for the footer, shed pad and the patio. During this process he ripped out the underground internet cable as he did not call 811 to have it properly marked. When I asked him why he didn’t call 811 he indicated he did not know what that was.
  
  As October proceeded, I routinely asked him for updates but was consistently given excuses such as, it's not up to him to get the concrete trucks here, the concrete company determines this. He also claimed he was in the hospital and then car troubles. He refused to provide timelines and then eventually when I knew it would not be done by the end of the month, I requested my deposit back. He agreed to reimburse me by deposit but since then, he has refused to reimburse me my monies and stated that he could not refund me my monies as he used them to complete other jobs.
  
  I have since reached out to other concrete contractors to complete the job, but they all indicated that the work done to date is not consistent with their standards and even indicated that the footer for the retaining wall is not to code. They were amazed at the lack of quality and would have to redo all the work that was completed by S&V Concrete. I am now left with piles of dirt and unfinished pad which I will have to remedy at my own expense.
