We were scheduled to take the Glenn Beck Cruise in March of 2020. We all know what happened as a result of the world shutting down. We are now scheduled to go on a Costa Cruise in May/June 2023 to Ireland/Scotland. When we reserved our flights for the 2020 trip, we upgraded, and PAID FOR, business class. I just received our confirmation of flights for the Costa Cruise in May/June of 2023, and the tickets are for COACH. I contacted United Airlines as they were the carrier for the March, 2020 trip, and they have CONFIRMED that they refunded the cost to Cruisebuilders. I have emailed and called, and called, and emailed, and emailed and called Cruisebuilders with no response regarding their willingness to honor the $10,000 we paid for our previous flights. I call the 801.901.3161 number and get a recording that says "in order to better serve you, we are only accepting email communication". Does anyone know how to reach SOMEONE at Cruisebuilders?Initial Complaint

On October 19, 2022 my husband, **** ** ******* and I (******* * *******) signed up with Latter Day Travel to go to Israel & Italy from Oct 13 - Oct 24 2023. We paid a deposit of $500.00 at that time. The company sent us an invoice for the tour. Our reservation number is #*******. They then charged our credit card $893.00 on 12/2/2022 and again on 1/4/2023. We have paid a total of $2286.00. In February we tried to contact the company because our Feb payment hadn't been taken. At the end of February we finally received a letter telling us that our vacation had been canceled and that we would be receiving a full refund of our monies within thirty days. We have yet to see a refund. They have stopped responding to our email requests and because we had already purchased our airline tickets to Tel Aviv and from Rome to home, we are committed to this vacation. We need our refund to pay for the other tour that we had to book. And because we are no longer getting the services from the Cruise Builder/Vacation Builder Latter Day Travel group, we need out money refunded. Please help us out. Thank youInitial Complaint

I booked a cruise through cruisebuilders or vacation builders prepandemic. The vacation got canceled with credit vouchers relaeased. Costa Cruise gave Cruisebuilders or vacation builders a credit voucher for the cruise. I get the issue with airline flights, and hotel pricing going up. I have sent email after email to both cruise builder or vacation builders weekly asking for help to make the reservation with with costa cruise through these two entities with no response. The websites are still up and they are taking information with new customers, yet they ignore the clients they owe money or are in control of the credit vouchers. It is a quite frustrating that there has been no response.Initial Complaint

IT’S A SCAM. BE CAREFUL AND DON’T THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY.
The initial reservation deposit of $500 for my wife and I was made on 8/27/2019. It was to include all air transportation from Salt Lake City to Tel Aviv, Israel, Tel Aviv to Venice, Italy, Mediterranean Cruise and flight back to Salt Lake City. All hotels, tour fees, ground transportation, food was included. On 9/18/2019 $4,295 was paid and on 12/18/2019 $3,395 was paid. Total $8,190 The trip was then cancelled by Vacation Builders due to covid. The tours opened up again in 2022. On 11/10/2022 we paid an additional $2,288.12 for "increased costs due to covid". We had also paid $3800 for flights that were originally included in the price of the tour.
The additional $2288.12 was demanded by Vacation Builders just a week before they cancelled our tour. I have talked with a number of people that paid this additional fee just before it was cancelled. . I went to the offices of Vacation Builder and it was empty. I was told from employees in the office next to them that they had moved with no forwarding address.
They apparently keep changing names to stay one step ahead of all of this. First LDS Travel, then Cruise Builder, then Vacation Builder etc. According to the Entity Records for Utah they are all pretty much the same people with the same business address. We signed an agreement at the beginning that any conflicts would be settled by arbitration. Most of the owners are attorneys and it turns out that the arbitration attorney is at the exact same address as each of the above companies.
They have such sweet little response email but nothing is ever done and no live person ever contacts you. The best thing we can all do is contact the Utah Attorney General Office – Division of Consumer Protection ###-###-####. Talk with Edgar W****. You need to file a complaint with them. A very simple process and numerous others have already done so. An investigation is in progress.Initial Complaint

My sister, mother, who is 87 now, and I all bought cruises for the Spring of 2020 to Europe. Of course Covid hit and we were told that we would be credit for the trip to go another time. I did inquire about one trip that came up last year but was told that I could not go on that trip, that I had to stay on the same cruise line I had originally signed up for despite that it was owned by the same company. Ok, that sounds reasonable BUT there have NOT been any trips posted by the company for those cruise ships! Then last month we get an email stating that our trip has been cancelled!!!! SO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! They say they can't. They can do whatever they want! They got bailed out, they are still selling cruises and trips for other things. If they cannot provide a service that I paid for then they should give us our money back! My 87 year old mother contacted them and told them she has medical bills and lives on a fixed income so they finally said they would pay her back. Still waiting to see what they actually give back to her, but if they can give it back to her, they can give it back to my sister and I. IF THEY CAN'T PROVIDE A CRUISE FOR US TO GO ON FOR WHAT WE PAID THEN THEY NEED TO GIVE BACK OUR MONEY, PERIOD!Initial Complaint

My husband and I booked the Cruise Through History through them in July of 2019. We paid them approximately $20,000. Our cruise was scheduled for March of 2020 and was cancelled because of covid. The cruise was rescheduled at least two other times. Upon the last cancellation we were told we could use the credit to book another cruise. We have been told that we cannot receive a refund. When I went to select a cruise package last week the website was gone. As of 3/23/23 we are now being told that it is impossible for vacation builder to schedule our cruise.Initial Complaint

Purchased a travel excursion with Latter day travel. They received full payment for excursion then cancelled without any refunds or proof of supposed inflationary problems. Also, will not reply to any contacts. Only explanation I received was the vague email attached. It has been over 40 days since cancellation notification in which they stated they would refund my money within 30 days. Company seems to be fraudulent considering all the similar complaints on BBB, but has a B+ rating on your site.Initial Complaint

I have received e-mails with excuses that are false. They have been doing this for away as you know on the BBB Site. They are a scam and should be shut down. Vouchers they try and give you to use are no good. You can't use them. I just want my Money back as it says in the e-mail and also their Contract. They need to be stopped and give us our money backInitial Complaint

On September 30, 2023, we met with a representative from Latter Day Travel (Vacation Builders) and put down a $500 deposit to secure 2 places on a May 1, 2023 tour. The tour was advertised as a 3 temple tour and we would be traveling from London, to Paris, to Marseille, France where we were to board a Costa Cruise ship to sail to Barcelona, Spain and two islands in the Mediterranean. The cruise would end in Rome with a two day stay there before we would fly home. This would be a 14 day trip. We subsequently paid 3 additional payments of $2545.33 for a total of $8136. After our last payment, we got word on February 23, 2023 that the trip was canceled due to inflation, Covid, and other concerns. We were promised a refund within 30 days. That refund never came. We were in contact with a Jay Smith a few times during that 30 period but, as soon as the 30 days has passed, he went silent. We have tried to call and were referred to an email address. We have emailed them several time but with no response. We have even tried to text the person who sold us this trip and, again, no response.
