I have opened a account with e Trade almost a year ago. I transfered 1000 $ from my local bank in Columbus. Before I used any of their services they closed my account without giving me any reasons. I asked them to return my money back to same account that that funds originated from, but I give me round around for months. First they asked me to send them , picture of my social security card, driver licence , bank statements, my picturea letter with my bank information and a letter requesting refund of my money. I sent them evertyhing they needed twice .They even had a conferance call with my banker asking him if I was a good customer and many unrelated question . Finally, they said they would send me a check or bank wire trasfer witin few days. After, 10 daysI called them again to see if they send me a check. I was told they could not locate my account and I should sent them again, socail security card,driver licence and other documents which I had send 3 times. They are trying to hold on my money . I think that are dishonest people. If they close my account . They should also immediatly return my money . After 1 year I still dont have it. All I want is refund of my money .Business Response

• Since my account was not set up for stock short sales, this was a simple bear put spread and my max loss is just the credit between the two put options • QQQ settled at $285.33 on 11/14/2022 and Etrade exercised the in-money put even my account is not set up for stock short sales • Etrade made an unauthorized short sale on QQQ and make me loss $840+ the next day . I emailed E Trade executives and the E Trade corporate office reviewed the case on 11/16 to 11/17. They refused to compensate the loss due to the unauthorized trade. . I have ever authorized any stock/ETFs short selling activity when I set up my account. ETrade simply made up stuff and deny to compensate for the damage caused by their unauthorized trading activity.ETrade refused to give any compensation for the unauthorized trade damage. ETrade modified the agreement without customer consent.

eTrade has made the process of transferring over my late husband's accounts very difficult. The final one I am struggling with is the account he had opened for our minor daughter. Despite months of trying I still have not (to my knowledge) managed to get it transferred over. I tried emailing them again last week. They did respond saying they would escalate my case but here it is 6 days later and I still have not heard anything of value. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I think their response is indicative of who they are as a company. In their letter they admitted that it had taken months after I provided everything required to complete my case. No one from the "compliance department" tried to call me, I just got a letter in the mail. However, I was finally able to reach someone competent and willing to do their job in the beneficiary department who was finally able to complete the case. Congratulations, eTrade you were the last thing on my "to do" list for the estate. You came in even behind the government (that's bad by the way). I am transferring all my business away from eTrade and warning others against them. No one should have to deal with their sub-par customer service-least of all someone dealing with grief. I am not speaking of the people-everyone I spoke to was very nice. But most were not sufficiently trained in their job, or they were understaffed (I assume) with long wait times.Thanks BBB, ya'll-as usual-are awesome.

I have an on-line E*trade stock account in July there was a security breach with My account. Someone, without my authorization, transferred my account to a ******* ***** account. They sold most of the stock in the account Since July I've Made dozens of phone calls resulting in very little help. Finally on September 23. My account was finally transferred back to E*Trade from ******* ***** but Only one third of it was transferred back. The rest of it is still with ******* ***** Apparently the people at E*Trade don't know what they're doing. Not once did Anyone from E*Trade call me or tried to contact me. On October 7th, had both my checking accounts hacked and the remaining balances wired to a chase bank account. Called that day and a rep from E-Trade said it would be resolved. My son ******************* is the beneficiary of financial assets held by etrade for his father, decedent, *************************. On July, 28, 2022 a beneficiary case was open with etrade to begin the liquidation of assets process. Each time etrade has been contacted we have received conflicting information and never an official list of items to be submitted. Despite this with each request made by etrade the requested documents were submitted. Each time I have requested to speak with a supervisor, the call is disconnected by etrade or I am told that the supervisor will follow up and I hear from not one. ******************* who is the beneficiary is still in high school and resides at home with me. I have am the custodial parent of *******************. **** is 18 and he has signed a notarized letter requested by etrade indicating that the funds can be dispersed into the custodial account that he has with me. I was told two weeks ago that the liquidation of the accounts would be done this week November 1, 2022. However, I was told that this would not be done this week when I contacted the etrade beneficiary department (ie. estates) today. This is a complaint about a college savings account I've had with ETrade for about 19 years. I request withdrawal of the funds two months ago and have not received my funds to pay for my daughter's college expenses (account number **********.
