Our whole experience with Southern has been amazing. From Start to finish we have bought several hot tubs from them for ourselves and our rentals. CH We bought a hot tub and above ground pool from SPS and had a great experience. Brenda was exceptionally helpful in helping us decide what was best for our family! Install for both was seamless and actually earlier than originally quoted to us for the pool. The installers worked until dark and returned the next day to finish the install. We are more than pleased with our experience with SPS and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a hot tub or pool! Thank y’all so much for making our summer even better! Would not recommend this company they are very unprofessional they quoted us a price for complete install and concrete work there was a price difference of atleast 20,000 they dug they hole for the pool 3 x the size it needed to be they left our yard and our neighbors yard a mess , we contacted them several time for problems with the pool and pump they will do a quick fix and leave and then it happens again this company is a joke they were all accommodating until they received payment then it was all lies I would not use this companySouthern Pools and Spas

Truly not sure where to begin. This customer provided so many red flags before the install even started. Everything was communicated to the ***** family via text. The break down of their total being financed as well as several install disclaimers that they refused to sign. Lesson learned on our end. My sales team tried to set the expectations but the ***** family felt they could dictate how we run our installs. A site check was scheduled and they canceled. When it came time for install they decided they wanted the pool fully in ground. Our install team advised that semi in ground was their best option due to the lay of their land. The ***** family refused and said they did not want the pool if it could not be fully in ground. They told us to dig the pool and set it as it was. Even after threats to “drop us” the install crew did over 10 hours of digging and back fill. A lesson learned on our end but we feel we were very transparent through the whole process with the ***** family. Even after bad reviews we serviced the pool in October. They provided very little information on the issue was so the techs were sent with everything possible, including a new pump. We have not heard anything from this family since.
It's frustrating to see our company, with over 25 years in business, a customer base of over 10,000, and consistent annual pool installations, holding an F rating based on just five reviews. The root of these complaints seems to be customers who, maybe because our service is pricey, feel like they can control how we run our business. Even though the initial transaction goes well, some clients expect us to change our established practices just because they paid a significant amount of money. We offer free water testing and expect to be in our customers entire pool life. Why would we ever intentionally botch an install, increase pricing without discussing with the customer or neglect follow up service?Review fromDillon M

They trashed our pool charges for things they did not do. Told us the pump was shot attempted to charge us for a pump. It was simply not plugged in. Then the lady that did all the damage distance herself from our home claiming that she was not there that day. We have video proof that she was there. Not only are they incompetent. Hi Dillon, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding our services. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We take customer satisfaction seriously and want to address your concerns. Reviewing communication between Erica and my pool service manager, I do see there was communication on what exactly a pool opening consist of and cost, as well as a return fee should your pool not be ready for service. Since the pool was not ready for service we did have to charge a fee and this was discussed with Erica. I apologize if you felt this was misleading but it was explained when service was requested and again when service was rescheduled. For the pump issue Erica explained that the problem was the outlet that it was plugged into and it was running on an extension cord. Erica explained that she had her dad fix the problem and had set up for someone to rewire so she would not have to use an extension cord. We do not have a licensed electrician on staff so unfortunately that problem was out of our hands. It's important to mention that when we received your call expressing your dissatisfaction, we promptly took action to rectify the situation by vacuuming your pool for and hour and a half to ensure it was clear when we left. We genuinely want our customers to be happy with our services, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our processes. We regret that you didn't reach out to us during the summer to express your ongoing concerns, as we value the opportunity to make things right. We want to assure you that we are committed to providing top-notch service and would appreciate another chance to address any remaining issues you may have with your pool. We understand that maintaining a pool can be a collaborative effort, and we encourage open communication between pool owners and our team to achieve the best results. We offer free water testing to all our customers to ensure our support is available to you.

I wish I could place ZERO stars!!! We purchased a pool in January 2023. Installation began in March 2023 and was not completed until July 2023. After we paid a deposit for installation, the crew dug the seat for the pool and when finished, asked for more money than was originally quoted. This was the beginning of the nightmare. When a crew finished installing the pool, another crew had to remove the panels and install again. When the liner was installed, there was a wrinkle in the floor of the liner and one of the crew members told my wife to just get in the pool and use her foot to fix it. Also, we were not told we had to hire an electrician to install the pump until we were ready to fill the pool with water. SPS does not backfill the pool once it is installed either, so we had to place cardboard in the mud to get in the pool. We had to endure this for about 2 months!! I had to assemble the steps and place them in the pool and when I asked why, I was told they could not place in pool. When we discussed the landscaping, our price was quoted over $12,000 more than originally and the excuse was the installation crew placed the pool in the wrong spot. We had to change the design from original plan to meet our budget. It has been one month since completion and I have asked for corner pieces to cover the joints and still do not have them. I strongly encourage to NOT use SPS for installation of a pool. Their communication is non-existent. This was a complete disaster and a nightmare of an experience. I will say Brandon and his crew did a great job with the landscaping. He had to correct plumbing issues with the installation.Southern Pools and Spas

Regarding the backfill issue, we'd like to point out that the contract you signed clearly outlines the homeowner's responsibility for backfill, as discussed during the purchasing process. We understand the inconvenience you faced and are actively working on improving our communication to ensure that such critical details are communicated more effectively.
Concerning electrical work, bonding, and grounding, the contract explicitly states that these aspects are not included in our scope of work. The homeowner is responsible for providing and installing all electrical services, and we apologize if this was not communicated clearly during the process.
We're pleased to hear that Brandon and his crew did a great job with the landscaping, addressing plumbing issues in the process. We appreciate your recognition of their efforts and are committed to learning from this experience to enhance our communication and coordination moving forward.
