Servpro came to our home on Friday November eighth to clean up some raw sewage in our basement. Pulled their truck on the side of the house and fed their equipment through a small basement window not venting any windows in the basement or house. Left an hour later. We noticed a smell in the house and basement. Left for a few hours and came back to find the carbon monoxide detector was going off. Fire department arrived and determined that the house and basement had dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. Gas company came and discovered no gas appliances in the home. Fire department stated in their official report that the fumes coming from the Servpro truck filled t
the entire house and basement with carbon monoxide. Tried calling the company several times and also emailed the official report from the fire department. Company claiming this has never happened in 43 years and they are not liable.

Servpro did preform services for Mrs. ****** on the 8th. At no point did Servpro have any gas-powered equipment inside the home. We did have a gas-powered extractor that was inside our van used to extract sewage from their basement floor. The suction hose was run through a window a good 4' away from the van. Our crew left at 3:30 and at no time did they smell anything and there was never a *** detector that went off. We do this every day and have for years, and we have never heard of such a thing. But nothing is impossible, so I told Mrs. ****** IF by some fluke we cause a *** issue that I sincerely apologize and am glad everyone is safe and that the Fire Department only had to open the window to let it air out. She didn't seem to want an apology, so I asked what she was after, and she said she wanted a refund. I told her that we would not be able to do that, especially since we don't know for sure what caused the *** detector to have gone off and there was no out of pocket expense to anyone.
