  I found the business practices (specifically the consultation & estimate) of The Home Doctor (THD) circumspect. They were very aggressive in scheduling and trying to close the deal. They required both my husband and I home to conduct the consultation for attic insulation. The consultant was a salesperson and not trained in installing insulation. He spent some time looking at my attic and then went outside to measure my house with a tape measure. He spent an hour giving us a presentation on THD instead of going over the services we were asking for. He then gave us an estimate good for 1 year (covers the cost for inflation) at $16+K, a 30-day estimate of $14+K, and the today estimate of $13+K. When we said that was more than we expected and more than what I found on a ****** estimator, he said he would call THD to see what he can do for us. He came back and said he was able to 30% off and that he gave up some of his commission because he valued our military service. So now the same day estimate came down to $9+K. We said we wanted to wait to get the other quotes before we made a decision. Then he said, I have $1,000 in my wallet, would that lower the cost enough for you to choose THD? We again said no; we wanted to the other quotes first. He mentioned THD had a price match guarantee but I found the parameters they used were extremely narrow and prohibitive.THD never provided a written quote via email or provided the list of work that would be done. Every other competitor provided a written quote with an explanation of the work to be completed (i.e. install baffles, add blown cellulose to 17", etc.). This leads me to believe (but I don't know), they were only going to add insulation and charge over twice as much than the other competitors!How can they reduce their estimate by over $5,000 if the estimate was not already over inflated? Their practices greatly profited THD (and their sub-contractors) but was not fair to the consumer.

  We ordered a sliding glass door with internal blinds. The company installed a sliding glass door without blinds. We were never told that the company couldn't give us the sliding door that we wanted. The error wasn't noticed until after they installed the wrong product. We ended up having to pay for a door that we didn't want and dealing with bad customer service. I will never use this company again. We are now doing business with a company that can give us what we want.

  The Home Doctor replaced a patio door for us and we were very pleased.Work was done on time and they worked ,ithin our budget.I have recomme ded them to our neighbor, and I will be usi g them to replace my wi dows this fall.

  I need my roof replaced and I had met with two other companies before meeting with Curtis from the Home Doctor. The other two salesmen made me feel very pressured and tried to scare me by telling me that if I didn't sign with them today that the next rain storm would flood my house. My roof does need repaired but their high pressure scare tactics didn't work on me. My meeting with Curtis was very different from the other salesmen in that he didn't try to scare me into buying. He told me about the company and then he educated me on the roofing system which was great because I had no idea what was involved. At the end of our meeting I was very confident and comfortable about signing with The Home Doctor for my roof. Unfortunately due to financial reasons I wasn't able to move forward at the time but when I moved forward I won't call anyone else

  I had a great experience with this company. My salesman was great. He was able to answer every question I had and he got me a really great price. Other companies I met with were so high pressure I felt trapped but not Curtis. He sold me on the quality of their products and customer service.
