      I was seen in the office on 10/23/2023 for a wellness check up including blood work.
      i was told that anything discussed outside of the wellness issues i would be charged for.
      the visit included the Nurse Practitioner reviewing my medication list and renewing my prescriptions. because i was getting my migraine medication of propranolol renewed (a preexisting condition ) I was charged an additional $52.27 (that is my charged after insurance). The procedure code they put in for was *****. This was a preexisting condition not a new diagnosis and the only remarks about it was that i was taking the propranolol and needed authorization for a refill. Nor was I told at the the time of the visit that this interaction would be considered outside the scope of a wellness visit and they would be charging me for more than a standard office visit would be.

      This practice is trying to hide behind their statement of "you knew anything discussed outside of a standard wellness visit will be charged", but they don't tell you what a wellness visit includes. and my wellness has a preexisting condition of migraines so why wouldn't that be included and what gives them the right to charge above a standard office visit?

      recent office visit in addition to the wellness visit. Upon
      receiving your complaint, we thoroughly reviewed the documentation and audited
      the coding for your office visit. We can confirm that the coding was done
      correctly and in accordance with the billing and coding guidelines.  As a result, the charges for the office visit are accurate
      and appropriate.It
      is important to note that an office visit and a wellness visit serve different
      purposes and are billed separately. While the wellness visit focuses on
      preventive care and routine screenings, an office visit involves addressing
      specific medical concerns or conditions. These two types of visits require
      different levels of evaluation, assessment, and management, which is why they
      are billed separately.We
      understand that the billing process can be complex, and we strive to be
      transparent and provide clear explanations to our patients, which is why we have patients review and sign our wellness waiver.  If you have any
      further questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to your PCP office directly. We value your
      feedback and appreciate your understanding in this matter.
