Briefly, I'm seeking a refund of $39.99 for a defective electric kettle that I ordered 11/26/22. They received the returned item on Jan 19. The longer story is this has been the worst customer service experience of my life from start to finish.Nov 26, I ordered the electric kettle and a coffee maker. Dec 13, I received the electric kettle and a stand mixer that I did not order. The customer service phone # just tells you to visit their website and disconnects, so I emailed to let them know and ask them to send the coffee maker as soon as possible (before Xmas).They refused to send me the product I purchased (and paid for) until I delivered their mixer to *** for them, waiting in line in the middle of the holiday rush. They refused to reimburse me for my expenses or the time I spent away from work correcting their error. They just held the coffee maker hostage.I finally did receive the coffee maker, and it's fine, but not worth all of the *************************** the electric kettle gave off a horrible chemical smell when I used it. The user guide doesn't mention that this may happen, so I assume it's defective. I tried boiling several pots of water in the kettle but the smell never went away. I would never risk drinking water that smelled like this.On 1/13, they acknowledged my refund request and sent shipping labels. They said they would test the product and if they decided it really was defective I'd get a full refund, otherwise they'd keep my money to cover shipping. They received the return on 1/19.On 2/1, I wrote to ask how long before I get my refund and received a hostile and unhelpful response "Please note, the returned appliance must be evaluated first, as previously explained. The evaluations are done in order in which the appliance was received." I have no way of knowing how many defective items came in before mine or how many they check per day, but it seems unreasonable to keep my $ more than a month after they received the return.Business Response

I returned an electric kettle to Hamilton Beach after multiple attempts to use it resulted in a horrible toxic chemical odor. I spoke today with ******, who told me they examined the returned kettle and did get any odor. As a result, she refused to provide any refund. I continue to maintain that I should receive a full refund. ****** says they won't provide ANY refund. She also refuses to send me a list of the chemicals they use that created this horrible odor.I believe they are endangering the health of their consumers, and my entire experience with them has been stressful and upsetting. This company does not respect consumers and does not deserve the high rating that you have given them. They basically stole $39.99 from me.

I purchased a Hamilton Beach microwave on 8/8/22. The other day on 2/15/23 I noticed that the microwave was not heating up food properly so I put my food back in the microwave to try and heat my food again and then the microwave shut itself off with 24 seconds left on the timer. I check my plug and receptacle to make sure nothing was wrong with it and they were both fine. I reached out to Hamilton Beach and they said that microwaves were a different department and they gave me another email so I sent the same stuff to this email address as it turns out the email was for ******* customer service. They basically said that the store has a return policy and it's only 90 days and I am on a fixed income and didn't purchase an extended warranty because I couldn't afford the extra cost of the warranty. Now I'm out $55 and a microwave. I also have a crockpot that doesn't even work right. They shouldn't be allowed to sell crappy working appliances especially in this day in time when people are watching their pennies and opt for the more affordable brand . I just want my 6 month old microwave replaced it shouldn't have stopped working for no reason.Business Response

They're brand new coffee maker that I purchased from HEB with a $10 off coupon has now overflowed twice on me and instead of filling the coffee but it filled my kitchen cabinets and floor with coffee. When I make a pot of coffee in the morning and come back to find coffee all over my floor it makes me mad enough to Sue ******************** Beach for a billion dollars if I only knew a good lawyer but as everybody knows those don't exist. I purchased a $300 blender and recently it began leaking. Their customer service is non-existent and they dont respond. I filled out the web form on their website, and a representative e-mailed me and asked me to describe the damage to the blender and to include a picture. I responded to the e-mail twice, 2 weeks ago, and they have failed to contact me since with instructions on how to replace or repair the blender container.Business Response

I purchase an HB microwave from ******* which stopped functioning well within the 1 year warranty, filed a claim with all documentation and was told to box it for return to HB. received a follow up email sending me to the retailer. retailer refused return sent me back to HB. HB has since not returned emails and you cannot get them on the phone. issue unresolved FOR THREE MONTHS NOW. If a business cannot SERVICE their business they should not BE in business. On 11/20/22 I purchased a Hamilton Beach ***** Portable 6-Quart ************ Digital Programmable Slow Cooker with Lid Lock, Temp Tracking Temperature Probe on Amazon for $89.99. The main reason I bought this model was for the probe feature. The first time I used the probe feature it worked. The next time I used the probe feature it did not work properly. So on 12/22/22, I contacted Hamilton Beach (HB) customer service, via the phone number on their website, for assistance. It directed the customer to fill out an online form. You could not speak with an agent or leave a message. That same day I received a confirmation email, stating I would be contacted within 5 to 7 business days. I was never contacted so I followed up again on 1/22/23 with another online inquiry/claim form (it is impossible to reach a person by phone; I tried googling other phone numbers for HB). I never gotten a confirmation email or any other response to my 2nd inquiry. Throughout this time I have used the probe feature several times and it has not worked properly. HB website gives a **************, ** address so I looked up the BBB for ************** to file a complaint. When I searched for HB, I found a number for their headqtrs in **************, ************. I called that number in early Feb 2023 and left a detailed msg about my past efforts, & asked to be contacted by phone. I missed a call the next day, but the phone msg was the same msg as the other customer service numbers I called, i.e. file an online inquiry/claim. Obviously the person did not listen to my message or want to help. I called the same number again the next day, left another detailed msg. I said I wanted a refund because I no longer want to do business with HB because of their very poor customer service. I said I would file complaints with the BBB and the *********************** for ** if I was not given a refund and instructed where to return the cooker. To date I have not received any response.Business Response

On May 23, 2022 I purchased a Hamilton Beach ******** coffee maker, model ***** from *******.com. The first one came with a shattered carafe so I returned it to ******* and received a replacement unit. It worked well until December 2022. It began to leak water all over the counter when I made single cups, either using the basket or a pod. I tried to correct it by using the troubleshooting guide that came with the machine but no change. I sent 3 emails to HB asking for help and never received any response. I found phone numbers online and called at different times of the day on different days but only get a recording telling me to use the website. This machine has a 1 year warranty, but ******* has a 6 month return cutoff. The machine is taking up valuable space on my counter since it is unusable. And I wasted $95.11.Business Response

I received a Hamilton Beach food processor as a gift at my wedding in 2020. It broke the first time I used it. I have been trying to contact Hamilton Beach for 2.5 years now. I ordered in good faith a coffee maker from Hamilton Beach. They took my money. I then received a box thinking it was my coffee maker that I ordered. I received something that I did not order! I received a Panini Grill which is something I would never buy. I have left messages online and I have called their corporate office as of today I have not gotten a response or my money back. I am getting real upset and want this resolved asap. I will never buy a Hamilton Beach product again. I will take my business elsewhere! Please help me in resolving this matter asap.
