On 12/16/20222 my 86 year old dad paid $800.00 to this company for cyber help under suspicious circumstances. We believe our dad mistakenly clicked on a link and had a conversation with this company for some sort of IT service. The irony is my brother and I both are IT professionals and our Dad doesn't need this company's help. We called to get a full rebate on 1/11/2023 as it seems like this company is a scam artist or at the very least taking advantage of elderly people. Instatfixus created a temporary email account with our Dad and then they created a custom check for the $800 (since our Dad wasn't able to use his credit card it seems) of subscription service for three years. The creation of the online check seems possibly like bank wire fraud and we're about to reach out to a lawyer and the state of Massachusetts to see if we have a case as the company refused a full refund and were VERY rude on the phone. Before we file a complaint, we request the company return the full amount as the business has for many other people via this forum In the last year.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because the business sent the echeck to the "fake" email account they setup with my father when scamming him out of the $800.00.   The email address the **checks were sent was created the same day they "worked" with my dad and the email account is NOT accessible.  Can the business send these echecks to my account please?

    To: <[email protected]>

    Hello,

It has been almost three weeks since the last messages and I want to resolve this case.  The (fraudulent) business wants my email address/contact info so I can receive the $800 for my parents but I also want to discuss the fraud this company engineered on my dad between the online check, temporary fake email account (Which they sent the 800$ too), and rude support. There are ample examples only our site of people accusing them of basic fraud and separately their business should be reviewed for aggressively going after seniors.

They can use this email to send the rebate too - ********************.  My Dads email is ****************.

The transction took place on Dec 26 2022. My credit card was charged $700 - supposedly for 3 years' service. I couldn't reach certain sites, so Instafixus took control of my computer. The result was that my inability to get to these sites INCREASED! I protested the charge to my credit card company. Then I phoned Instafixus and asked for a refund. I was offered $100 and declined. Then I was offered $300 and declined that. I checked with BBB and found that I am hardly alone in considering Instafixus a scam operation.

While using my computer an advertisment for computer repair popped up. I have been having difficulty with mine and clicked onto their site...they then told me that my credit card for $280.00, as documented with the pdf file attached to this complaint, and that they needed me to give my C.C. # and not realizing that I had not given them my number they charged me for their service...THAT I NEVER received.

Back on February 13th, 2022, I was having trouble receiving emails and favorites on ********* **** when they switched over from ***. I looked into the internet for some assistance and found Intrafixus LLC. They did fix the problem and I decided to use their service for tech support for $699.99 for three years. Well this past week on November 16th, I get a call saying that this company was going out of business and they will refund me my $699.99. They connected me to tech support to refund me my money electronically. After I gave them control of my computer, I filled out a form. When I went to the spot to put in my amount of $699.99, it showed $20,000 instead. When I looked at my balance on my checking account it did include the extra $20,000. The person than said that it came out of their account by accident, and I would have to mail in the cash to them instead. I was then directed to go to my credit union and take out $9600 on one day, and to another branch the next day to take out $9400. I was then directed to go to a *** store and ship the money each day, directing me to go to two difference *** stores. I was told to put this money in a shoebox or something similar and wrap the money in foil paper. I was giving two difference addresses in California to ship this money. All along, I assumed that this was their money. I realized on the 2nd day that the $20,000 came from my savings account, and not from Instafixus. I was able to stop the delivery of my 2nd package in time and had it returned to me. The 1st package the previous day was already picked up and my money was gone. This was a complete scam by Instafixus.

On 5/11/2022, I paid Instafixus the sum of $299.99 to install their Cyber Privacy Shield on my laptop. In November I was contacted by a representative of their company and informed that the system they had installed was flawed and that they wanted access to my Laptop to see if they could fix the problem. They stated that IF they could repair their system they would or they offered a refund.I told the gentleman that I preferred the refund, at this point the caller became very argumentative and when I insisted he hung up.I have sent an E-mail to their address but have had no reply.Refund or not I feel this is not a very good business practice, and think this should be registered, so others do not do business with this Company. My order ID # *****, transaction id **********
