I purchased a American Standard Hvac system 2.0 410 in February 2025. My heat pump got damaged from a fallen tree. I found out the system they sold was discontinued in January 2025 and can't be replaced. I paid ****** with no financing. ** **** did not inform me before purchasing the system it was discontinued. They are now trying to sell me the new model HVAC system 4 months later for ******. They have been unreasonable and unprofessional in this whole ordeal. I have no air condition or heat now since 06-25-2025 when my heat pump got damaged. Buyer beware with this company they are only out to make a **** and care nothing about the consumer.

The reason for this review is because ** **** lacks transparency in its pricing and takes advantage of people who are in a bind. Our rental property HVAC was not working properly. Our tenants called ** **** because they were able to come out sooner than our contractor could. Their speed in responding is about the only positive I can say here. The diagnosis was that the dual run capacitor and contactor needed replacement. Knowing enough about HVAC work over the years but not a licensed technician, these two parts should run $30-$50 each. Plus about ***** minutes of labor. They came on a Sunday so I anticipated an extra weekend charge. Expecting to be in the couple hundred dollar range, I was in shock when the quote was $1133 ONLY IF we signed up for a membership. Without that, it was nearly $1300. I asked for a breakdown in parts and labor knowing how much the parts were roughly and the technician said "well you could get the parts yourself and do it if you know how." This is highly unprofessional and bad business. In any contracting, trades, and sub-contracting services, it is normal, and expected, to be able to break down parts and labor for the customer. The rental was already above 90 degrees on a summer day and we were unable to get a second diagnosis that day. We paid this exorbitant amount a 30 minute job. When this did not actually solve the problem, the technician said he needed to then add 2lbs of refrigerant which would cost another $499. At this point, if we don't complete the job to the point of "fixed" then we don't have a service guarantee. Nearly $1800 for a quick job and no parts and labor breakdown received. I called the service line to speak to a manager and no one has called back. As a small business owner myself, I am highly disappointed in how this company treats people.

We called them on Monday to fix the air conditioner they installed 4 years ago They said they would be out Wednesday. We took off work for this and they call at 5 pm and stated they would not be out today. Maybe Friday. Its the hottest days of the year and they know we have 2 people in this house with respiratory issues. This is under warranty. This is bad business and you would think respiratory issues would take a priority. We cant even call the company now it is a recording.

Called the Dover Location in the morning and came promptly. Replaced a $20 dollar capacitor which only took 15 minutes and charged $475 and thats with a $75 discount. An analogy would be having a mechanic replace your auto air filter and charging $475. The service was during the week and not an emergency for an 88 year old customer. Also this is the easiest and cheapest part on an AC to replace. They need to be investigated for doing this. I asked for a breakdown of the costs, ie parts, service call, labor, etc. I called and left a message and no return call. Please beware when using this company.

I am emailing you from my home that has been over 90 degrees for 2 solid weeks now due to ** ***** lack of communication.2 years ago, my husband and I replaced our outdoor unit, indoor unit and thermostat. We contracted ** **** for our servicing.2 weeks ago, our AC stopped working and your tech named ***** came out. He told us that our fan motor went out. He explained he would order a new one and would let us know when it arrived. He was supposed to find out if ** worked/partnered with ********. He explained that labor would be an outlandish $700-$1400 (which is absolutely absurd!! Its 3 wires and a few screws to replace this piece per the advice of 3 other companies we contacted)***** kept communication for 2 days, realized he left his tools in our unit. We called in a pass for him to access our neighborhood and since then weve never heard a word from him despite our numerous attempts to reach out to his cell.I called customer service today, who placed me on hold for over an hour to check on the status. After an hour of holding, a new person picks up the line and asks thank you for holding how can I help you excuse me?! I held for an hour to reexplain myself?!The newest lady tells me our part had in fact arrived, and proceeds to try and schedule my appointment. I explained to this woman that being in a house over 90 degrees WITH CHILDREN, and zero communication from the tech or company is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and this part needs to be installed free of charge. We are waiting for a call back from a manager, which Im sure wont even happen based on the experience so far.We expect a call back. We expect that this will be a free install on the fan motor. We expect something to be done!An appointment is scheduled, however a security gate pass is required to enter the neighborhood and if I dont hear from someone then they will waste their time like Ive wasted mine so far with this.******* & **** ********

Avoid **** **** and save yourself from the ongoing frustration. The **** system they installed has broken down multiple times since day one and right now, its still not working. Over the past few years, **** had to deal with repeated major failures requiring extensive repairs just to keep the system running. The latest breakdown has left my family without air conditioning for weeks during a stretch of 90+ degree heat. We were told the part needed to fix it was ordered, only to be told later it wasnt a scenario that has played out multiple times before. Now, we cant even get a simple call back or status update.Every repair has taken weeks and only happens after relentless follow-up on our part. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable especially for a system they installed that continues to fail.I do not recommend this company and I regret ever trusting **** ****.

From Loyal Customer to Deeply Disappointed ** ****** Decline Under Apex Ownership Ive been a loyal ** **** customer for 17 yearsspending over $50,000 on two ************ (with upgrades), three water heaters, a full electrical panel replacement, repiping, and countless other services. I also referred dozens of friends and colleagues because the customer service used to be exceptional. Every technician was professional, respectful, and informativenever pushy. That trust built the ** **** brand. Sadly, that brand is now gone.Since ********************* acquired ** ****, the customer experience has become unrecognizable.Appointments are scheduled weeks out, then canceled without explanation. My most recent HVAC inspectionbooked months in advance to beat the summer rushwas simply canceled. No alternative offered. This marks the fourth time in a row that my service call was scrapped due to capacity issues. The same thing happened with the electrical division earlier this year. Reaching anyone beyond a voicemail is nearly impossible. No one calls back. Its clear to me that **** prioritizes the spreadsheet over the customer. Maybe experienced technicians cost more on paper, but theyre the ones who could solve problems, explain future maintenance needs, and build long-term relationships. That kind of trust led to more work and more referralsthings a spreadsheet cant measure.I never thought Id say this after so many years, but Im done with ** ****. Ill be looking for another company that values long-term customers and understands what service really means.

Your 'improvements' resulted in the EXACT same experience on 11-July. Strung along by dispatch for a paid-for electrical system inspection all day until 4pm, when miraculously, the technician had a medical issue and cancelled. That is 0 for 3 this year on a service that I PAID for.

Terrible upsells tried to tell me *****K for an American standard 3.5 ton unit. Even the most top of the line system with all the bells and whistles will not cost that much. Avoid these scammers at *** **** at all cost and ******** ***** is a liar and con man. He was like a pushy timeshare salesman and when I told him I was getting other estimates he was visually upset. He kept trying to lock me in to 15 year financing at 13% interest. The company uses pressure tactics like efficiency discount where if you lock it in on the spot during a consultation they will give you a discount. Do not fall for this.

We purchased a new HV** system from **** **** in February. When attempting to use the new ** system for the first time last week, we discovered it was not working. Our home was hotter insider than it was outside. We placed a call to *************** service team and a technician was scheduled for Friday, June 6. The technician was originally scheduled to arrive at our house between ***********. As Noon approached, we were informed that he would now be arriving before 4 PM. The technician arrived mid-afternoon, spent time evaluating the system, and informed us around 3:30 PM that the new **, which had never been used, needed a new part which he did not have in stock. He said the new part would take several days to come in, and we would be contacted when it arrived. We expressed frustration, and after the technician left e called the service department and left a message. After no one returned our call Friday, we called back Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. Monday we were forwarded to a voicemail but no one has returned his calls. We spent approximately $20K on a new HV** system, and the ** is not working. This week's temperature is expected to reach 90 degrees, and it appears that since they received our sale, there is not sense of urgency in making sure our new system is operational. We are very dissatisfied and request immediate attention.

We hired **** to come out to do our spring inspection on our HVAC in April. At that time our system was working fine. When the technician came in he told us we needed a new outdoor or indoor unit electrical service disconnect with appropriate fuses( his exact wording on the invoice) because our current one wasnt working correctly. At that point he also noted that once that was changed our 6 year old Nest thermostat was not connecting to the box and our service air conditioning would not work. So he needed to replace the thermostat. Now prior to him touching our system everything worked ******* part of this service call when he changed the box out side, he never explained the replacement box was smaller than the old one which left a gap in our vinyl siding which he could not repair and told us it was on us to get fixed, so now we have to call a handyman or someone to repair the damage gap he left in our siding. Our fear is the outside box may have needed to be replaced, but it is interesting that our Nest thermostat had stopped working. The only one thermostat he said he hS on the truck was an HP which has been totally inadequate since installation. He left we placed a call back at **** for someone else to come look at his work. They said there was nothing they could do and there was a chance the old thermostat worked, but without seeing it there was no they could. We feel the technician was dishonest and came in to upsell us the customer on new parts. We have since learned this is part of the **** process, to have their technicians upsell on every call regardless how minor the service call. Our system worked fine before he touched it. We hope this experience saves others from doing business with this unscrupulous company.
