In or about April of 2022, I sent a 1971 Dodge Challenger Rallye gauge cluster and bezels to be restored. I was attracted to this business as their claim to restoring dash instrumentation and wood grain is of factory results. This is essential to a concourse restoration for this car. Only the best will do. I spoke to the folks there and was sold immediately after a short conversation explaining what my expectations were for the gauge set and bezel, I was sure I’d found the right place. Was given a form to send in with the gauges and after receipt and review of the order I was told I could expect to pay a deposit and then after a more thorough look into what needed to be done I would then be billed and expected to pay the amount in full, prior to any work being done. So I paid and was told I should look for completion around the fall of 2022, I was ok with that. I called in the fall, and was told my gauges would be shipped out the following Monday to my surprise. So another 6-8 weeks goes by and I call again. I’m told the same thing, ships out Monday and we’ll send you pics of the gauges. Another month or so goes by nearly Christmas of 2022 I call again, was told my gauges are done as per my paid order and waiting for wood grain, & nowhere near ready to ship. Now it’s first week 2023 and I just don’t have the capacity to be lied to again and disrespected. I’ve never had a cross word or anything of the negative nature and I feel like I’m being ignored and disrespected (lied to) as I have paid the invoice in full and owed a truthful explanation as to why I’m being told untruthful delivery and progress of my gauges and panel, no one has a right to lie to a customer that has paid and told multiple shipping returns with no validity. I chose to call BBB and tell an agent my complaint and was encouraged to make this complaint as I was in the right by doing so. I want an apology and a TRUTHFUL explanation about the progress of my gauge cluster and review in full of my order!

I've  received the complaint from Mr. **** and unfortunately everything he says is true.  Unintentional but true. After almost 25 years in business we've never had a year like 2022.  We lost our employees the first of 2022 like everyone else in the country and have been so far behind I can't believe it myself. Add this problem to my health issues and I just haven't been here much, today (1/17/23) marks the first time I've been back to work in a month, I'm still trying to get over Covid, my third time.Mr. **** states he was told numerous times that we'd get his cluster finished and out in a few weeks, that's true, I told my employees to tell him we could do that, unfortunately I was not able to make it happen.I called Mr. **** on 1/23/23 and we had a positive conversation.  I explained the situation to him and he was very positive and thankfully, understanding.  I apologized to him and told him I'd be happy to return his parts and refund his money or, I told him I thought we could get his job finished by the end of this week.  He stated he'd like to have the gauge cluster back fully restored rather than have a refund. We spoke with Mr. **** by phone yesterday (Monday) and I'm calling him again now to stay in touch.  I'm very sorry for the BBB to have to get involved, this is not a normal problem for us. Thanks,-- Gentry Zentmeyer  AutoInstruments Corp.** **** *** ************* **  ***** ************

I sent my speedometer and temperature gauge (1967 Plymouth GTX) out to be repaired June 16th 2022. I was promised at least 6 times that is would be sent out in the last month. I have tried calling and emailing to just get Gentry to send my Speedometer and temperature gauge back but now he will not even respond. These are rare pieces that are expensive and hard to replace. Please advise.

This is an email to respond to Mr. ***** ******** complaint about a slow turnaround time on his speedometer and temp gauge: Unfortunately almost everything Mr. ****** has said is true, we lost our employees at the beginning of this year and we've been so far behind you wouldn't believe it.  We've been in business almost 25 years and have never had a year like this before. New employees have (finally) been hired and we're beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Mr. ******** parts were shipped to him on Tuesday of last week,  10/25, and he received them on Thursday, 10/27.  If you have any other questions please let me know! Thanks, Gentry Zentmeyer Auto Instruments Corp.
