I joined MSC in April earlier this year, hoping to meet some new friends after a divorce. I was "sold" the subscription of $75 per month by a woman named ******, after setting up an appointment/interview, as directed by the website. Starting 4/20/22 and continuing monthly since then, I was charged $75. However, I never saw any events that were near enough to me to attend and after a few months, decided to cancel. Since then, I have tried to log back in to cancel, but was unable to find any way through the website to do so. I let it go for another few months, but then tried again. I then tried to log in with same login/pswd and could *not*. I requested "reset pswd" and website said reset link was sent to my email.... but it was NOT. I checked all folders-- spam, trash, etc.-- and there was no email or link from them. I continue to be charged $75/ month. I have tried this several times, to no avail, NEVER receiving an email from them to reset my pswd and now having NO online access to either my profile or the so-called service that I am being charged for.There is truly NO customer service. The last time I was able to access the website, I could not find any number or email contact to try and reach them. When I tried to call the phone number attached to the credit card charge (listed as "MSC*SUBSCRIPTION ************ VA"), I was shuttled from one phone number to another of recorded sales pitches for other products, without ever being connected to a live person or even a recording that mentions My Social Calendar.This company gained access to my credit card and is just TAKING MY MONEY for a service I have never used, and has made it impossible for me to cancel the subscription.Initial Complaint

I joined My Social Calendar on February 13, 2022. All new members must agree to a six (6) month contract and pay $75 for each month, totaling $450. I was charged $75 on the 13th of each month. My contract began on February 13, 2022 and ended on August 13, 2022. On July 26, 2022, I requested to cancel my membership after my contract ended on August 13, 2022. However, after the sixth payment on July 13, 2022, My Social Calendar charged me another $75 on August 1, 2022. I disputed the charge and was told that my credit card was refunded. However, I have yet to receive a refund. I am convinced that this company is a scam. There is no customer service number or physical address to go to and discuss this issue. As far as I am concerned, they stole from me and I demand a full and complete refund immediately or I will take legal action.Initial Complaint

On 9/7/2022, I spoke with a representative from My Social Calendar about joining their service. I was interested, but wanted more information before I joined. I gave my credit card number to the representative, with the agreement that I would not be charged until I agreed to the terms and conditions. I decided not to join after reading the terms and conditions, though I found that I had already been charged for the initial payment. Being charged before being able to read the terms of the contract is ridiculous. I never agreed to the contract or to be charged. I want my money back.Business Response

Around the beginning of May, I purchased a subscription to "My Social Calendar," a business that proclaims to organize events near Philadelphia and Washington DC for singles. In the intake phone call, a representative spoke about different events, like wine tastings, horseback riding, and cooking classes that were scheduled. She could not offer locations of the events, so I asked about the possibility of canceling the subscription after purchase in the circumstance that the events were located far from my residence. The representative said yes, a cancellation could be warranted in this circumstance. On May 10, 2022, I asked to cancel my subscription to My Social Calendar because the events were over an hour away from my residence. In most cases, the events were an hour and a half to two hours away from where I lived. The company honored my request, and canceled my membership with a refund. On July 28, 2022, I have a charge on my debit card from My Social Calendar. I reached out to ******************************* about this charge needing to be cancelled and refunded, and neither she or anyone from the company has responded to my calls or emails. It has been a week since trying to connect with a representative in regard to this charge, and I have not received return communication. I have filed a dispute with my bank, *** ****, regarding this charge, and I have deactivated my debit card so that My Social Calendar will not be able to charge my account. I am hoping that Better Business Bureau can get in contact with this company in order to receive a full refund, apology of charge, and reassurance that the charge would not happen again. I'm also worried that this business does not accurately portray itself to the public, and I want to make sure that potential members are aware of the possibility of being unrightfully charged for services.Thank you for your help, and please let me know if you need more information regarding this dispute.Initial Complaint

On 7/28/2022 I canceled my subscription to this service. Immediately, my social calendar deactivated my account and accessed to their calendar. On 7/29/2022, I was billed $75 for services which are charged one month in advance. I tried contacting the company via the online form and have not received a response. I reached out to two local event coordinators. One allegedly did not have info for member services, the other, Lena E********, refused to provide contact info despite being asked multiple times and was extremely rude, blaming me for the charge for services not rendered. Id like a refund of my services and a contact in member services to make a formal complaint.
