On Jan 11th, 2024 after multiple correspondences back and forth I was notified by Anchor that my SETC credit was submitted and filed with the ***. I was informed within 20 weeks I would receive the credit, and my initial $250 deposit would be applied to the cost of services rendered/ I would be invoiced the remainder (20% of the credit) AFTER I received my check. Over a year later, and countless remittances from Anchor/ Gig workers, still no check and a redundant amount of harassing emails claiming they will file a suit if I do not remit payment for the services that I never received. Do NOT use this company. They will make falsified claims and promises to you to use your information and take your money with nothing in return.Business Response

I contacted this company in February 2024 about the **** credit for self employed workers. They asked for copies of my 2020 and 2021 tax returns. After reviewing them they said they could get me back $2195 within 120 days. I have contacted them numerous times since the 120 days was up. The *** states they never received my amended 2020 tax return. Since they have filed my ************************************** money by owing the *** instead of getting the refund as promised. It's been almost a year and still no money! I am still trying to contact them to fire them. I also had to contact the tax advocate services for their help in this matter now. They are nothing but a scam company. Gig worker solutions aka anchor accounting are nothing but a scam artist company. Never use them! They want me to pay them for services they never provided.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern:
Gig Worker Solutions (GWS) is in receipt of the Complaint submitted by ******* ******* (Customer).
GWS denies the allegations made in the review and provides the following response:
GWS is an innovative all-in-one platform that provides self-employed professionals and gig workers with
comprehensive solutions and services, including benefits, tax assistance, marketing tools, discounts, and
community support. By leveraging collective strength, *** negotiates exclusive deals and collaborates
with partners to provide tailored services that rival those offered at corporations, ensuring its members can
focus on their passions while enjoying the security and benefits typically reserved for full-time employees.
In 2023, *** partnered with ************************** (******) to provide services related to the SelfEmployed Tax Credit (SETC). The Customer subsequently entered into a written agreement with Anchor
(the Contract). Per the terms of the Customers Contract, Anchor performed all obligations to assist the
Customer in submitting her applications to the ************************ (***). On July 29, 2024, the ***
notified Anchor that the Customers refund for tax year 2021 was issued via direct deposit on March 1, 2024.
The *** also notifed that it was still processing the Customers application for tax year 2020, and on October
26, 2024, requested more time to process the Customers amendment. On December 17, 2024, the ***
then notified Anchor that it had misplaced or could not find the Customers application for tax year 2020.
Anchor promptly prepared a new application for the Customer and sent it to the Customer for completion.
To date, the Customer has failed to complete the necessary documentation to resubmit the application for
tax year 2020. To date, the Customer has not paid any money to GWS or Anchor for the services each has
provided.
While GWS and Anchor understand any frustration experienced by a customer who has not yet received
his/her refund, GWS and Anchor are not at fault. Specifically, once an application and supporting
documentation are submitted by the customer and Anchor to the ***, GWS and Anchor have no control
over when the *** processes the application and/or when the *** approves and issues the refund to the
customer.
The allegations made by the Customer against Anchor and GWS are false and statements referring to GWS
as a scam company are defamatory and actionable. Anchor and *** have assisted customers in
receiving more than $33 million in SETC refunds. Should the Customer choose to proceed and fulfill her
obligations under the Contract, Anchor and *** remain committed to adding the Customer to its list of
successful refunds.
Should you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The Customer's Contract with Anchor makes it clear that the Customer is obligated to pay Anchor for its services performed, including a flat fee in the event the Customer chooses to not move forward. Customer's request to obtain a copy of the 2020 amended tax return prepared by Anchor admits that Anchor performed its services -- preparing an amended tax return at the request of the Customer. The Customer is not permitted to use Anchor's work product independently and bypass the fee owed to Anchor. To date, the Customer has refused to pay her debt owed to Anchor and has not paid any money to Anchor (or to Gig Worker Solutions) for the services it provided. The Customer is in breach of the Contract with Anchor. Records provided to GWS indicate that the Customer's last contact with Anchor was on January 13, 2025, at which time she indicated she would be filing a BBB Complaint. No further contact has been received or accepted by the Customer. Should the Customer want Anchor to continue its efforts with the *** to obtain her 2020 SETC refund, the Customer is encouraged to call Anchor directly.
The Complaint made against Gig Worker Solutions should be dismissed as it appears that the Customer's complaints are with a separate company.

My complaint is not with a different company. When I contacted them in January 2025, I got the same run around. My 2020 amended tax return still has not been provided to the irs. I was also told the person supposedly working my account was unavailable and would get back to me. As of today, I still haven't gotten a return call from the person working my account. I also asked for a supervisor and was told they were unavailable and would call me back. Still no phone call as of today. I'm not paying a company who hasn't done their job. I still haven't gotten my refund. I still haven't seen my copy of the amended return they say they submitted. I want nothing to do with their lying company! They are a joke!

I received a piece of mail informing me that I can get a substantial refund on the **** tax credit for year 2021 for covid childcare from a company called Gigworker Solutions / Anchor Accounting. The mail containing my extremely sensitive information (tax forms and power of attorney) is currently en route and halted at **** Please call *** and do not let them receive that package.Tracking: 1Z2RF7720218205911 I have the package intercepted at the moment, but *** could use your help to return it to my real address in ********. They forced me to use their printing label so that I would not be connected to the delivery. They are sneaky and highly sophisticated. In no way, shape, or form do I consent to the continuation of this service, and it must be terminated before the package reaches their office and they attempt to hold me hostage for $1,100. The perpetrator, Gigworker Solutions / Anchor accounting, digitally applied my signature on a contract which I did not agree to (attached). This is a scam where they win over a victim with the promise of large funds, and gain access to tax information. Ultimately, they end up charging fees and holding your information hostage. Additionally, they are submitting tax amendments on your behalf. If wrong, could cause an audit.Business Response

*** disputes the Customer's allegations that he did not sign the Contract with Anchor. Specifically, not only was the Contract signed by the Customer, but the Customer uploaded a copy of his personal identification to support his application. The Customer then contacted Anchor on January 8, 2025 indicating that he no longer wished Anchor to submit his application to the *** because he had already claimed the credit outside of Anchor's efforts. I filed December 2, 2023 and here it is a year later and i have not received anything. I know it ranges ***** weeks for an amended return so i would have been hearing something around April 2024. May 2024 come and i get a email stating they have a new refund option for an advance and if i sign up, ill have my money by Memorial Day. I again fill out the request for transcripts and didnt hear anything back. I reached out in July again and was told the advance option was not available to people who filed before April ****** . here comes October and i reached out again and was told the *** is still working on it. I contacted Anchor and asked them how would the money be disbursed and was told it would go to ***************** and then a check would be sent out to me. It is now December 13, 2024 and no answers or money accounted for. Gig workers repeatedly advertised to my home address that I should "unlock up to $32,220 with the self-employment tax credit" and there are "no upfront fees"! After months of assuming this was a scam, I finally decided to go to the website to find out more information. Unfortunately, there is little information unless you create an account, so I ended up creating an account to see if I would qualify for a tax credit. The website said that I could claim days without strict documentation, so I input the days that my nanny did not come to work due to covid and I did not have childcare. At first the website said that I would quality for ~$8,000. I thought that it seemed like a lot, so I had my personal accoutant review it to confirm. He said that it was an inaccurate number and that I should not move forward because this would be falsely reported to the ***. I am a physician and consider myself a smart individual, but was unaware that I would have to provide specific medical documentation on my nanny's behalf, who moved back to ******, so I do not have this information. This was falsely advertised by the business online and over the phone when I called for clarification and spoke to various agents. Therefore, I deleted my account. I spoke with an individual over the phone and confirmed my account was deleted. Then I began getting emails to sign a document to submit to the ***. I called and emailed explaining that my account was cancelled. I finally spoke to an accountant who could not access my account either and said I actually would not be eligible for a refund anyway. That's when I began getting harrassed and threatened to be sent collections if I didn't pay them $1100. I do not have an account with them. I am now being told I have to either submit false information to the *** OR pay $1,100. This is unethical, illegal, and all I want to for the hounding to stop and my account to remain closed and the invoice void.Business Response

Gig Worker Solutions (GWS) is in receipt of the Complaint submitted by **** **********
(Customer). *** denies the allegations made in the review and provides the following response:
GWS is an innovative all-in-one platform that provides self-employed professionals and gig workers
with comprehensive solutions and services, including benefits, tax assistance, marketing tools,
discounts, and community support. By leveraging collective strength, *** negotiates exclusive
deals and collaborates with partners to provide tailored services that rival those offered at
corporations, ensuring its members can focus on their passions while enjoying the security and
benefits typically reserved for full-time employees.
In 2023, *** partnered with ****************************** (******) to provide services related
to the Self-Employed Tax Credit (SETC). The Customer subsequently entered into a written
agreement with Anchor (the Contract). Per the terms of the the Contract, Anchor performed all
obligations to assist the Customer in submitting her application to the ************************
(***). Notwithstanding Anchors performance, the Customer informed Anchor on August 19, 2024
that the Customer refused to complete the process.
The Contract makes it clear that the Customer is obligated to pay Anchor for its services performed,
including a flat fee $1,100 in the event the Customer chooses to not move forward. On September
4, 2024, pursuant to the terms of the Contract, Anchor issued an Invoice to the Customer for the
$1,100 debt owed by the Customer. To date, the Customer has refused to pay her debt owed to
Anchor and has not paid any money to Anchor or to *** for the services each provided. The
Customer is in breach of her Contract with Anchor.
In addition, the Customers review contains defamatory statements including that *** has engaged
in false advertising and unethical, illegal practices. While GWS and Anchor understand any
frustration experienced by a customer who has not yet received his/her refund, GWS and Anchor are
not at fault. Specifically, once an application and supporting documentation are submitted by the
customer and Anchor to the ***, GWS and Anchor have no control over when the *** processes
the application and/or when the *** approves and issues the refund to the customer.
The allegations made by the Customer against GWS are false. *** has assisted customers in
receiving more than $33 million in **** refunds. Should the Customer choose to proceed and fulfill
her obligations under the Contract, *** remains committed to adding the Customer to its list of
successful refunds.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Once again, I do not currently have an account with Gig Workers. I spoke with an individual over the phone and confirmed my account was deleted on 8/15/2024 and that I could not ethically continue with the process as the refund that they were claiming I should receive was significantly higher than it should have been per my personal accountant who ran the numbers. I did not want to be a part of any potential illegal processing. I did not say that Gig Workers has engaged in illegal practices, I said that I do not want to engage in illegal practices which is what I would be doing if Anchor Accounting submitted this to the ***. This is based on my personal accountant running the exact same numbers that Anchor Accounting ran, and him getting a much lower number in **** credit that I would potentially be eligible for. I confirmed this directly over the phone with an Anchor accountant who could not access my account due to its deactivation, but he said that I actually would not qualify for Anchor to submit my information for a refund given the small amount of days I was claiming when he re-ran the numbers himself. I thought that this was settled and moved on. Then I began getting harrassed and threatened to be sent collections if I didn't pay them $1100. I do not have an account with them. To be clear, I was told by an accountant at Anchor Accounting that I am not eligble for enough of a refund to even qualify for them to submit this to the ***!! He said that he would not move forward with the processing given the small return for them. Then I was transferred to a woman who works there (not an accountant) who told me that in order to "get out of" paying Anchor the $1100 directly, I should submit the bare minimum amount of days to qualify for Anchor to process the information so that I can be paid the **** credit and then Anchor can be paid their commission off of the credit I eventually receive. She said that my options are submitting false information to the *** and inflating the amount of documented claim days that I can provide in order to "obtain to the minimum amount of money that Anchor will accept as commission" OR pay $1,100. From my point of view, this is considered unethical and illegal. I am not "frustrated about not yet receiving a refund" as the recent Gig Workers response suggested. I do not want a refund because I do not qualify for a refund. All I am asking for is that my account remains closed and the invoice void. I, nor the Anchor accountant, are even able to see the application that I sent. Since I did not qualify for these services, Anchor should not have provided any services. In addition, they should not have allowed me to successfully delete my account if I was "obligated" to pay them. Under no circumstance will I falsify any information about myself, and in this particular case, to the ***. I have been advised by my personal accountant as well as my tax attorney that I am not responsible for the services that should not have been provided in the first place.
Gig workers website states "At Gig Worker Solutions, we're committed to addressing the specific needs of self-employed professionals. The **** isn't just a tax credit; it's a testament to our dedication to your success. The best part? We DO NOT charge any up front fees. we only get paid when you do."
In caps lock: "We DO NOT charge any up front fees. We only get paid when you do." I am not getting paid, so they should not be getting paid either. While I'm not an attorney, I personally believe that this is false advertising given the fact that they are invoicing me when I did not get paid and do not qualify for a payment. Once again, I'm requesting the invoice to be void given the circumstances.
Regards,

Gig Worker Solutions (GWS) is in receipt of the supplemental response submitted by **** ********** (Customer) in support of her Complaint and in opposition to GWSs reply. GWS further responds as follows: The Customers Complaint continues to be misplaced. Specifically, the Customer entered into a written agreement with Anchor (as previoulsy defined) on August 13, 2024 (the Contract). Per the terms of the the Contract, the Customer agreed to the following Compensation terms:
"The Company will charge the client for the Services as follows (the Compensation):-$1100 minimum processing fee or 20% of the Self-Employed Tax Credit whichever is greater as well as 20% of any interest awarded by the IRS.
-Upon completion of the necessary schedule amendments the client must sign and return the signed documents via prepaid *** label which is paid for by the Company. If the client does not return signed agreements within 15 days, the minimum fee above becomes due for the work completed, however if the signed documents do arrive after being the minimum fee is collected the client will receive a full credit of the amount collected against their final invoice."
The Customer submitted her relevant financial information shorly after signing the Contract, and on August 16, 2024, was informed by Anchor that the Customer qualified for an SETC refund based on the information she provided. Anchor completed and mailed to the Customer the necessary schedule amendments based on the representation from the Customer that the information she input into the application was true and accurate.
It appears that the Customer later changed her mind as to proceeding with the process based on her representation that the data she originally input into the application was, in fact, incorrect. However, the Customer never submitted documentation to support the amended data she later submitted. Accordingly, the Customers decision to terminate her account, whether based on a change of mind or initially incorrect data input by the Customer, does not negate her payment obligations under the clear terms of the Contract. To date, the Customer has refused to pay her debt owed to Anchor and has not paid any money to Anchor or to GWS for the services each provided. The Customer is in breach of her Contract with Anchor.
The allegations made by the Customer against GWS are false, and the Complaint should be dismissed.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business is now falsifying information about me. I did not "change my mind because the data I originally input into the application was, in fact, incorrect." Despite me not being an accountant, it was suspicious that Anchor came up with a credit for me that was more than my actual earnings for the entire year. When I made numerous attempts to speak with someone directly, I could not get a hold of anyone to discuss this further. I then seeked specific tax advice from my personal accountant who ran the EXACT SAME NUMBERS and came up with a significantly LOWER amount that I would legally qualify for if done correctly. He advised me that whatever loop hole or angle that Anchor was attempting to use, would be a signifcant issue with the *** if I were audited. I called Anchor Accounting to discuss this and was told to cancel my account. My account was then cancelled by someone at Gig Workers/your staff DIRECTLY. There is no possible way for me to submit documentation to support any amended data because there is no account. After the account was cancelled, I confirmed this by finally speaking over the phone with an Anchor accountant himself who confirmed that I indeed should not have initially qualified. He is actually the person who said that the transaction would obvioulsy be void. On that same phone call, I then spoke with a customer service representative who suggested that I can also "redo" and "tweak" my numbers in order to get the minimal return so that Anchor could get paid the 20%. That is the part of this that would be illegal and falsifying informaiton as well. The invoice should be void given the fact that Anchor accounting overinflated my estimated return in order to bait me into submitting a document. When I called them out for the misrepresetation, they cancelled my account.Regards,

I observed discrepancies such as the discrepancy between the caller ID indicating "Isia" and the voicemail identifying as "****," which raise questions about the consistency and professionalism of your operations. I faithfully submitted all required personal information and cooperated with each request under the expectation that my application was progressing accordingly; only to be asked to repeat the same action more than 4 times. On July 24, 2024, I received an email from your team stating that my SETC paperwork had been successfully submitted to the ***. Trusting this communication, I attempted to use the link to track my application. However, I found no matching or validating information related to my application. The *** site did not recognize my application, and there were no updates or records corresponding to the details I was given. When I first engaged your services, I was explicitly informed that by submitting my *** Account Transcripts, the processing of my application would be expedited, significantly reducing the wait time. This was a critical factor in my decision to proceed. However, on August 27, 2024, I received a response from your team stating that due to high volume, new criteria had been introduced, including a credit score threshold to prioritize applications. This change in terms is a clear case of misrepresentation. *** set certain expectations but failed to deliver, instead introducing new, undisclosed criteria that have delayed my application and didnt align with promised timelines. *** blames *************************** claiming they have no access to the platform, while Anchor directs customers back to GWS for application status updates. The constant passing of responsibility between the two is unacceptable. They have not responded to my email sent on 8/30/24.Business Response
