When I first got with them I never got a card in the mail and was charged a late fee on a card i never got and its on my credit of a past due balance for a card I never got. I called and got a credit and a card sent out however its STILL showing past due on my credit. Fast fwd I have now been without a card since august of last year. Although losing my card is my fault I have called and asked for a replacement several times. I havent used this card yet Im constantly being charged late fees and other fees for a card thats not in use. I spoke to someone in November who removed late fees and said youre all set nothing left is owed next thing I know I get a past due email and an alert for past due payment on my credit. Now I have a balance of 80+ in LATE fees for a card I STILL have not used and every time Ive called its been excuses after excuse. I want these late fees removed, I want this past due off my credit, and a new card to finally be sent to me because this is ridiculous at this point.Business Response

Open sky is charging me late fee after late fee and I am impacted by the corona virus. My income has dropped significantly and the charges are obscene. They make it extremely difficult to contact them. They sent me an email and I'm attaching screenshot where it has a box to click contact us now yet it doesn't do anything when you click on it. They offer no payment plans whatsoever.Business Response

In December 2022 I made a payment on my OpenSky secured credit card with a limit of $300. A couple days later I received a notification and email that payment posted and it reflected in my bank account. A week or two later I got another notification that my account was over the limit. Knowing I hadnt used it I checked to find out why it was over the limit to find the payment wasnt reflecting on my account anymore and my balance was actually $100+ more than the original amount prior to the payment. I tried calling which I normally dont have an issue with but unable to reach anyone. This over the limit amount and now late payment immediately reflected on my credit report. After trying to contact the company and resolve this with no luck I disputed it through Experian with documented evidence. Within an hour of disputing I received a notification from Experian about the change of status of the OpenSky account. Feeling relieved that the company resolved their mistake I checked the status to find there was an additional $100 added to the balance!!! Now over $200 more than my limit! But yet my payment history still shows current on my credit but over limit and credit usage of 500% dropping my score many many points for a $300 secured credit card. These inconsistencies are proof of this companys unreliability and false reporting. Yet, the prompt response to change my account details upon disputing to credit bureau is proof that they are very aware. Ive reported to CFPB and now Comptroller of Currency.Business Response

Someone made charges on my credit card account. I called Open Sky spent over an hour waiting on the phone to speak to someone. They said they were going to refund my account. Send me a new card. The account was refunded for a couple of days and the charges are back on there and now my accounts in the negative. There's no way of closing the account or getting a hold of anybody easily to speak about this matter. I want this resolved and a refund on my account.Business Response

To Whom it May Concern,
We have complied with every request that has been sent to us by *** **********. We have sent out all the document's that has been asked by him. It's unclear what his demand's are except a new car and for us to pay him for this. vehicle. We have tried multiple time's to contact him by phone and he refuses to comply with that. Recently, he's demanding no phone contact. We are always willing to help our customer's out with any issue's they have but he has never once asked or informed us of issue's. Our vehicle's are sold as is and he did sign. that form as well. We have sent him every document to show him what his amount's are. We would be willing to help him if he could get his account current, he has stopped paying and since then started the complaint's. He is requesting all orginial documents with wet ink signature be sent to him but legally we have to keep the wet ink document's so we have sent him copies of them all.
Thank You,

I made a payment of just over $800 that was deducted from my bank account on 02/05/23 as of this morning 02/08/23 my credit card has been restricted, it was declined at a store and i no longer have access to my app. I called their number as requested and was told that i would have to provide proof that i had permission to make this payment to them. First of all this is my personal account that i paid from and actually the same account that i used for the initial security deposit late Oct last year. Regardless of the strange request i contacted my bank that payment was taken from and acquired my bank statement confirming my name and address on the account as well as a processing number for the payment transaction that showd indeed that this payment was cleared. I faxed them over to the security dept and have yet to have my card unlocked. It's imperative that this problem be solved no later than Fri or i am out a huge deposit for a car rental i have reserved. I have spent nearly two hours total on the phone on hold for a problem that could easily have been resolved. I respect the fact that you have security features in place to protect both the customer as well as the business however i cant grasp how i would need to grant myself permission to make a payment to my credit card from my account. I have been a card holder with OpenSky for several years. I have never had any issues until now. In October of 2022 I received notification on Credit Karma that my credit card was closed, not even notified by OpenSky themselves. Upon calling them they told me they closed it due to return of address of multiple statements. I have changed my address with them and have been receiving my statements. The lady I spoke with told me I don't owe anything and my account is closed so I have nothing else to worry with them. Recently I've been getting mail with bills from them acquiring late fees. So I call today, February 8 2023, and she tells me they closed my account due to no activity, although I just made a payment before they closed my account unexpectedly and took my money, now sending me bills for more money. She told me I am acquiring late fees, even though I was told I don't owe anything back in October. First my account was closed without my knowledge or consent, now I am getting billed late fees for something they did. Very poor business etiquette.Business Response

*** *******:
Thank you for your letter dated March 6, 2023 regarding ***** *****. I was sorry to hear that *** ***** felt that she was “pressured” into the purchase of her Vacation Program, or that the purchase was adding any undue financial strain on her. It is never our intention to add any unwanted stresses to our clients’ lives, but rather one of our main priorities to ensure that all information is fully disclosed and that all our customers are comfortable with their purchase.
Regarding *** *****’s assertion that our sales staff “pressured” her when selling the Vacation Program, we take great exception. We feel that we gave *** ***** ample opportunity to express these feelings, and our records indicate that she never did. As part of our Vacation Program Agreement we enclose a Consumer Disclosure Acknowledgment, which has our clients answer a series of easy-to-understand questions by answering “Yes” or “No.” I have enclosed a copy of this Acknowledgment for your reference, and we ask that you note the section below which shows *** ***** answering several questions in the affirmative regarding her overall satisfaction with our Sales staff and her purchase.
When we received the letter from your office, we had a representative from our Customer Care team research *** *****’s account in order to see what we could do to assist. Our records indicate that during a phone conversation on March 16, 2023 we were able to discuss this matter with *** ***** and I am pleased to report that we were able to reach an amicable resolution. In an effort to assist *** ***** we agreed to revise her vacation program by relieving her of the $4,214.58 of principal owed, while still providing her with the use of four (4) vacation weeks as outlined in her Agreement. Furthermore, we agreed to waive the Service Charges associated with *** *****’s Vacation Program until March 2024. Our records indicate that *** ***** was satisfied with this resolution, and we look forward to assisting her with her future vacation plans.
We trust this resolves this complaint, and we ask that you notify us if it is not resolved. Should you have any questions regarding this or any other matter, please don’t hesitate to contact us at ###-###-####.
Sincerely,
