I cancelled my contract on April 26th, 2023. Then in December 2023 they started charging me late fees and monthly fees. December 2023 is when they launched the new gym.

I joined Golds Gym, Reston some time in Jan/Feb 2023. The dues were $40 per month ($20 biweekly). In May 2023 a member came to me and told me that the gym was closing that day, and pointed me to a note in the gym. I decided to use the Golds in Chantilly, but a few weeks later, decided to cancel my membership. I called the billing company *** ******* ********* and told them that I was cancelling. They advised me that I had to give 30 days notice, so I allowed the next payment to go through. On 7/30/2023, the credit card that I used for membership expired. I didn't bother to contact them when they repeatedly emailed me saying that they couldnt collect the monthly dues. I called on at least one more occasion to remind them that I was cancelling and that I had already told them of my intention. They said that they were making a note to my records of the cancellation. On 12/7/2023 I received a notice from ****** and Associates (Attorneys at Law) telling me that I owed $179.92 and that they were collecting a debt. I contacted *** and they said that there was nothing they could do and that I should contact the debt company. I told them that they should be the ones to sort this mess out as they were the ones that caused the issue. During this conversation supervisor Mary (employee number *****) told me that 30 days notice had to be given. I asked her, if in her opinion, I owed 30 days and she said that she felt that the maximum I could possibly owe is 30 days. My claim is that the maximum I could possibly owe is $20, with the reason being in their email, they gave my cancellation date as 8/17/2023, so they may not have been able to collect payment at 7/31/2023, but I paid $20 biweekly.

I joined Golds Gym (Herndon clock) tower this summer. Within about a month, I saw a notice that the gym was closing and members need to use Golds Gym Reston starting September. The staff there, seemed as surprised as I was about the announcement. Since then I have visited the new site they moved my membership to 3 different times and each time got the same indifferent answer that there is a delay in permit and we don't know when the facility will open. (And they were not very nice with their answers either). I have also written email requesting a cancellation and refund to Reston Golds Gym and have not received the refund/ cancellation or any response. I am therefor lodging this complaint. I would appreciate if you could help me recover my lost fees for the past two months and cancel my membership moving forward. thanks,********** (*******) ********

Dear Site Administrator, I am writing to request reimbursement for the delayed opening of the new Gold's Gym in Reston, VA. I was excited to start using the gym facilities as soon as they became available. However, I’ve been disappointed to learn that the opening date has been changed multiple times, and that the previous Gold's Gym in Reston closed too soon. This has caused inconvenience not only to me but also to my girlfriend, who recently got a membership because of my high praise for the gym and its newest addition. As paying customers, we should be compensated for the inconvenience caused. I have been paying for my membership since 2019, as well as an employee from 2021-2022, along with my girlfriend who joined specifically because it’s close to where we live in Reston Town Center. We haven't been able to use the gym facility as promised due to the multiple changes in the opening date and the closure of the previous Gold's Gym in Reston. We would like to request a reimbursement for the period that the gym has been closed due to the multiple changes in the opening date and the closure of the previous Gold's Gym in Reston. We believe that this is a fair request, and we hope that you will consider it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely,******************************, ************************

The business has closed their doors on May 25th, 2023 and continue to charge me money. Why would they charge me a biweekly payment and yearly fees when there is no business open? The business failed to freeze my subscription while they are closed.

My Gold's Gym membership was one that I paid for physical training and the gym would waive my monthly membership fee. In May, they closed down the gym in Reston, and said they would open at a new location in July. They sent me an electronic form to submit if I wanted to suspend the account, and charges, until the new gym opened. They new gym hasn't opened yet and they started charging me again in August: $130. I tried to call to resolve this, and the only people who could help are the managers who are supposedly never there when I call. I called the corporate office instead who supposedly cancelled my account and sent the notice to the people in charge of the Reston Gym to stop billing my physical training for the 30 days it would take to permanently close my account. They billed me again today, $80 for the second physical training agreement I had, and when I called corporate, they can't find the cancellation. And there is nobody that can reverse the charges. Worse, they said I had to send them my bank statements to prove they charged me. Which I did, but it takes them 5-7 days to research and then when I followed up, I got another auto-response that says it will take them 5-7 business days to even respond. If I can't get my account cancelled, they will continue billing me every two weeks until my bank runs out of money. This gym is a scam and if you ever try to quit, they'll do everything the can to prevent tht from happening.

Thank you for reaching out. WE have checked our records and we do not have a member by this name so we unfortunately we cannot help her. It looks like it may be a Reston, VA club.

please try reaching out to them.

    Thank you!

The gym finally canceled my account but have ignored my refund request,  even though the corporate billing company told me to contact them.  The first email was responded with an auto-reply saying that it worked m would take 5-7 business days to research,  and to contact them after then.  I did.  That for an auto- reply saying it would take 5-7 business days to respond.  I followed up again and got a reply that my account was closed,  but did not address my refund request.  That was 3 weeks ago.

Bait and Switch.... I joined this Gym Location ~4-5 weeks ago. After three weeks they CLOSED UP with 1.5 weeks notice. Gold's Has no other gym near the one I joined. I went to terminate my account (only ~5 weeks old). They charged me 30 Days notice AND and annual Fee of ~$110 (reciept attached). Golds CLOSED the Gym, they offered no new club in the immediate area but Gold's (via attached document) held me to $110 of charges to their failed business (I was paying 19.99 per payment). BAITED me to joint and in ~5 weeks Gold's Gym closed down and then charged me after closing up $110 to end the contract... but they closed its business SWITCHED
