Purchased a vehicle from the *******, ** branch that needed some repairs to be done. ** of the region gave work order for branch in *********, ** to have service to be done. Called Fairfield branch, let them know the situation, explained that my situation is a potential road hazard to other drivers and the service representative was reluctant to agree and was argumentative. Representative stated my service request that a REGIONAL ** made of a work order was not a priority and that I should take my business back to the store I purchased my vehicle from and that it doesn't matter what the ** said at one branch (yet this was a regional GM) and that they will not be honoring what that ** had said. I had just explained that this store is the closest to me which is why the ** had made the physical copy of a work order to be made at this particular branch. The regional ** also made a verbal statement that if this work order is not something that can be taken care of same day, that a loaner vehicle will be provided until the car is in good condition. The representative then stated that what my service work order is for will not be provided with a loaner ********** complaint is the fact that the car buying experience is a headache as it is. This representative has basically made it a point to not see that what is a sincere concern from the customer is not a priority to them even though a regional ** has created a work order, made verbal agreements that my service would be made a priority as it is a road hazard. I would recommend for the Fairfield branch to have service representatives who are in the effort to understanding the customer and try to problem solve when the customer isn't lying out of their rear end. This complaint is strictly for the Fairfield, CA branch and not the Fremont branch as Fremont had made their best effort to make getting my vehicle taken care of on their end, yet the Fairfield branch could care less even after requesting to speak to a manager.

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS LOCATION AND FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!The charged me 3 times for my vehicle warranty ($9,400) which should have only been $3,100 and still have not resolved my issue almost 45 days ********* will spend your life on the phone with customer service who has been extremely unhelpful and are not equipped to solve problems. Leadership is unresponsive which is unfortunate because all decisions are made at a high ******** car has been back in the shop 3 times now since we got it 45 days ago. They did not do the full 125 point inspection like they advertise, we even found receipts in the vehicle from the previous owner. The car was also still hooked up to the previous owners phone app which limited the speed i could go (75 mph) and the volume level (cant hear the radio when it rains) through an app called Keysense. That doesn't even begin to address my concerns for security that the previous owner can access (My location and where we travel.) I understand that mistakes happen and i have tried to be very patient and understanding through this process, but after waiting over 45 days with unresolved issues, my conclusion is that they don't care about their customers AT ALL.Your money is better spent at a certified used car dealership rather than this call center based company. The employees act as though they do not care, one of them actually complained to me about the company as well. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money and especially your TIME (i've spent more than 10 hours on the phone with them) at the ****************************************** location.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Sales makes promises they cannot or will not keep. I test drove a car and noticed an issue with condensation in the taillight. I let the salesperson know and was told they would take care of it after I purchased the car. He gave me the business card for the ************* to set up an appointment. When I called they knew exactly the car and the issue and set up an appointment for me to have it fixed. At the appointment I was told that it is not a mechanical issue and they would not fix it. I spoke to the manager and was told that if I'm not happy my only option was to return the car. UNACCEPTABLE AND RIDICULOUS. They make promises that won't be kept in order to make a sale. I will not be going back in the future - not for a purchase and not for service.

We made a huge mistake by purchasing a car and extended warranty from Carmax. We have bought *******‘s from **** ***** in ****** ** and other area dealers (that they have subsequently acquired) for three decades. When our car was totaled by an illegal alien who ran a red light, we were searching for a replacement ******* ********* that was close to the value which we would receive from our insurance carrier (since the other party had no insurance). The local ******* dealers did not have ********** anywhere near the price that we were to be compensated and so looking further we found a vehicle at Carmax and purchased it. We had a seven year warranty on the totaled ********* (which was not transferable) so we purchased an extended warranty through Carmax. When we had a motor that failed on the passenger running board, we were amazed to find out that Carmax would not service it for nearly 2 1/2 months. Their suggestion was to take it to a local **** ** ******* dealer, but none of them would accept the Carmax extended warranty. We’re now faced with the dilemma of either expanding a large amount of money out of pocket, living with a car that is difficult to climb into on the passenger side, or wait for 2 1/2 months to be allowed service at the Carmax shop from which we purchased the vehicle. My suggestions are 1) do not purchase a vehicle through Carmax and 2) recognize that, at least in **********, the **** *** ******* dealerships do not offer service to vehicles that do not have a warranty sold by ****. I am surprised that they do not seem to value a decades long relationship, so our next car will be another brand.

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience I had with CarMax in ************ *******. From the beginning of the process, the customer service I received was not only unhelpful but downright arrogant and dismissive.
CarMax advertises online car buying and delivery as a convenient service, yet when I attempted to utilize this option, I was informed that delivery is only available within a 60-mile radius. I live just 64 miles away—a mere 4 miles over the limit—but they refused to accommodate me in any way. My father is in poor health and unable to travel the two-hour trip, which is why I was relying on the convenience and accessibility that CarMax claims to provide.
Instead of offering any flexibility or understanding, the representatives continually emphasized how they were "doing something special for us"—yet expected me to drive two hours each way, four separate times, just to complete a purchase. That’s eight hours of driving for a service that is advertised as online and customer-friendly. They acted as if they were granting me a personal favor, rather than simply providing the level of service that any customer should be able to expect.
This experience was incredibly frustrating, tone-deaf, and ultimately a huge inconvenience during an already stressful time for my family. CarMax needs to either honor the promises made in their advertising or clearly state the strict limitations up front. Additionally, the arrogant attitude of the staff I dealt with was unacceptable and made an already difficult situation even worse.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should be treated this way or misled by false advertising.

This car dealership has bullied me for a lien hold release documents that I have already provided. They state that I never gave them the paperwork, but previously before this situation, theyre employees have made it incredibly difficult to sell a car because of the lien hold, but instead of providing excellent customer service, one of their employees insinuated and said out loud that, he doesnt know if Im a felon or a criminal. That I could have photoshopped my paperwork - the paperwork was a paid in full document. Ive had to drive to carmax multiple times because they could not provide me clear information of what they needed. Which was the lien hold release form.I have provided those documents, reported the situation to two onsite managers and NOW their financial manager is contacting me to get the paperwork because they dont have it. Ive provided explanation of the situation and stated they need to come up with some type of agreement, but she continues to call me, while Im driving - Im a commercial driver by the way, because I didnt give them this paperwork. I have to set time away from my job to be able to resolve an issue that they continue to mishandle. This all started back in April.

During my 8 weeks owning a truck purchased from the Raleigh CarMax on ************************************* drove the truck for 4 days, parked the truck in my driveway for 3 days awaiting a service appointment, had the truck in service for 29 days, and then worked to get my full refund for 20 more days after returning it because of CarMaxs inability to repair it. My repeatedly having to call for repair and refund status instead of proactively receiving updates and often receiving false promises and conflicting information from different departments (Sales, Service & the **************** created a sense that either CarMax didnt really know what was going on, didnt really care or both. It was also evident throughout that any one department didnt have any information from or influence on other departments, and for whatever reason did not seem capable or willing to internally escalate my concerns to an interdepartmental level. Therefore, I had to continually work with multiple departments simultaneously.
