      We bought a 2016 Rogue last May, 2021. Around 6 months into driving this car we noticed strange noises which only got worse as time went on. We had the transmission fluid changed hoping that would help. Needless to say, it did not. I almost was involved in a wreck because my vehicle wouldn't move and just hopped and jumped. Upon taking it to a repair shop, we was told we need a new transmission costing over *******. I called Car Max hoping they would be honest and offer to help. I was told there is nothing they could do since we didn't buy extended service. How sad, the car was clearly bad when they sold it. I will never go there again. People be aware, they are not honest in their car sales. I actually give them a zero star.

      We purchased a car in March, it was a 2020 *********** It was ***** invested. I even payed to have it detailed and cleaned out and we still had the problem. So we then took it back to CarMax requesting another vehicle within that week of purchasing it. So we then returned and purchased a 2012 ****** Highlander. Well it was good the first month. We did hear some noises that the car was making so when I brought the car into service at CarMax to put a new motor in the back truck bc it would nt open. They replaced the motor. I had them check the car for everything to make sure everything was okay with the car and they said everything was fine . So within 2 days of having it back , the motor went out again. I had an appointment to bring it back to CarMax to have them look at it . In the mean time my car just stop working . The wheel locked up on me and the computer system went wako and said bring to nearest dealer ship right away. We was hoping it was just the battery but after having it towed to ****** because CarMax had a 3 month wait . The service manager at. ****** called me with a list of problems totaling ti be ******* dollars. Well good thing we took out a extended warranty. Meaning we would only have to pay 300. Well they had to replace battery which I knew was our responsibility of ****** .. we also had to pay 200 for the alliment that needed to be done because of the front right and left axel needed to be replace .. so now our out of pocket cost is now ****** dollars. I'm very disappointed. I think CarMax should have had these issues fixed before we purchased the car for 30 thousand. Im not looking for any hand outs . I just want CarMax to cover the cost as our car sits at ****** and we don't have the money to get it out , which is hard when we have kids in school and a job and due to us having to pay the car note still even though we have been having problems and without a car we thought we could depend on from CarMax . I really would like some answers .

      I have to say, I am so sad and shocked that I'm writing this review, but it deserves to be shared. I purchased a car in 2016 and the process was seamless and amazing. I told multiple family/friends to skip haggling with car dealers and to go to CarMax. The person I worked with at the time of sale was incredible.However, here we are, 6 years later, and I find out CarMax didn't have the title of the car they sold me at the time of sale. As a result, ******** never processed my registration (the paperwork took too long to get to them) and, now that I have paid off the car and own it, I cannot retrieve my title because it is currently registered in ******* - a state I have never lived in therefore they won't release information to me.All of this, due to CarMax selling a car when they did not have a title in hand.I will never go to CarMax again and will advise anyone who will listen to avoid them as well.

      CarMax warranty is not true in my case and CarMax finds way not to honor warranty . after 15yrs of buying cars from CarMax I will never buy here again .

      CarMax has no respect for their customers. They are the epitome of the sterotypical used car dealer. Rather than being up front and honest they lure you in and then do not stand behind what they have promised. Terrible customer service.

      I recently bought a Audi s6 from Carmax of ******** **** off **********. And no later than 3 days later i have to return it due to a problem with what we figured out to be later a differential problem. I then proceeded to take me car back to them and asked them to fix it and keep in mind the car has only 44k miles on it. They took it said and i quote ( typically we dont do high end parts like that we usually send them to ****************** to get fixed due to the extend of the work so we dont mess it up) and she gave me her word that i was in good hands. Well they had me wait for about three weeks they already sent it to MAG and then had problems with receiving the email from MAG. So i ended up calling MAG and they said they have been trying and the mangers words from his mouth were (this is very frustrating sir im sorry, weve been trying to send and they keep telling us its not going through). I then proceeded to help them and get the paper work to them via email from the email from MAG. The **** was roughly $15,000 and they have had my car for about a month which then was running into my 30 day return. Without giving me warning they called and said( were taking your car back and fixing it here) keep in mind, one of the people selling me the car told me they do not do parts to that extent when returning it to try and get fixed. Long story short they finally at the end told me that the reason is it was simply to expensive and they were gonna do it but how would i trust someone that flat told me a lie, said they don't even have works to do the part and now they do?? Bottom line is they flat lied to me when telling me MAG was going to fix it and tried to pull a fast one on me. **** went from $15,000 to $3,000 and they said the only way for your car to get fixed is for us to buy a used part with supposed less miles on it also was told they dont even drive the cars just look. went 25mph to figure out $15,000 of damage and they told me used parts . What a joke company

      If I could give no stars I would. Awful customer service, there is no direct phone number to reach anyone. There is not enough space to type the list of complaints I have. I am dissatisfied as a customer, a human being and a mother. I was not met with the level of care you guys promote, nor was the car I bought.
